In this digital age of job hunting, I found CVGenc to be a lifesaver. Their resume editor is extremely powerful yet simple to use.

This company is a total fraud
This company is a total fraud! I stupidly fell for a scam on Facebook about receiving a Boots box for £2. They took the money and are now sending me weird emails about the CV site. I am in full-time employment where I teach people how to improve their CV writing skills! Reported to my bank and officially.

They scammed me by making me believe that I was buying a product box from Boots but I ended up signing for a subscription without my knowledge which I have cancelled but the payment has gone through. They claim that I have given my address and details voluntarily for the subscription but the link works in such a way that you enter the address details for the product delivery that you think you are buying from Boots. There was NO explicit mention of a subscription service which clearly shows their cunning way to trick customers. They need to be fined as it surely has to be illegal! I have now reported them.
Misleading ads, sneaky subscription added
Refusing to reimburse funds taken from elderly family members bank account. Misleading ad led to believe it was a small prize, now they've been signed up to a fortnightly subscription.
Editing to add, the subscription has been cancelled, customer service are refusing to give a refund!

Posed as a little skill game on Facebook as a way of harvesting a senior citizens bank details, and then slugged her with a fortnightly subscription. Claim they sent a email on the day of her supposedly signing up for a three day trial but it's highly likely this company knows it will go directly to the spam folder, where the vulnerable are not likely to check. If their product was worth a $79/fortnight subscription they wouldn't be using little skill games as a way to suck people in! Claim on their website to give refunds if cancelled with 14 days but they wait till after the 14th day to take the money to weasel out of paying it back!

Unauthorised deduction
I too have had a deduction from my account without my knowledge and did not sign up for any membership. I want my deduction to be reversed.

A growing, on-going payment was detected and declined by my bank. I knew nothing about it, I certainly hadn’t signed up for a cv related subscription. I had no emails from this company with registration details etc. To prove the shady nature of this “company”, in order to unsubscribe you have to provide them with your email address and last 4 digits of your credit card - no reputable company requires this.
The positive Trustpilot reviews are likely fake - all 5 stars by first time reviewers. Anyone who has left multiple Trustpilot reviews (ie real people) have given Cvgenc 1 star and labelled them scammers.
An investigation has been raised by my bank, this is a scam, avoid avoid avoid.

Don't click on their win a prize games, its a trap
My husband clicked on their link and played a game to win a prize. He ended up being locked into a subscription for 80 odd dollars a month. I don't know what sort of a subscription these people run but how many cv's would a person need? Total rip off merchants. Eventually got the subscription cancelled.

Avoid CVGenC
Like an earlier reviewer, my husband paid £2.50 for something small - he can't remember what now - but somehow this morphed, without his permission, into a £40.99 monthly subscription. Luckily for us the bank were on the ball and flagged it up, then cancelled the payment. Have contacted CVGenC to tell them there is no monthly sub. No idea what they're like on helping with CVs, but their way of increasing subs seems less than transparent. (Also, if you need it, there's lots of free CV advice on the internet...)

A scam purporting to be a cv guide
Offered a box of chocolates with just 2.50 to pay for postage. Went for it - no mention of a subscription. This company is just taking your card details either to use or sell on.

another con off facebook where you think you are buying a product, no where does it tell you its a subscription - following the response from cvgenc there is NO MISUNDERSTANDING it did not say anywhere that it was a subscription. You took £2.50 for goods then a week later tried to take £25. Scammers

Tricked into a subscription and they won't give me my money back. Their own cancellation policy states that if you cancel within 14 days of sign up you are entitled to a full refund of all subscription costs (trial + monthly) but their customer service team are refusing to honor this.
Their last email to me states - Since the payment has already been processed, you might want to utilize the website service until the end of the billing cycle. You can still log in here using the credentials from the Welcome email.
I accidentally signed up on the 10/01/2025. I realised what had happened on 13/01/2025 and cancelled.
I've had to raise this as a dispute with my bank. Avoid!
