Acquired CryptoCompare and Immediately…
Acquired CryptoCompare and Immediately Destroyed It
CoinDesk bought CryptoCompare — one of the most popular crypto data APIs in the developer community — and within months gutted it completely.
250,000 free API calls per month became 11,000. A 96% cut. No real warning. No migration path. No explanation that makes any business sense.
And the pricing page for paid plans? Empty. No numbers. Nothing. You have to "contact sales" just to find out what they want to charge you. This is not how you run a developer platform. This is how you lose your entire user base.
I ran a production crypto exchange on CryptoCompare's API. I trusted the platform. That trust is gone.
CoinDesk is a media brand that had no business acquiring a developer infrastructure product. The result speaks for itself: a destroyed product, furious developers, and zero transparency.
I've migrated and I'm not coming back. 1 star is too generous.
Serious Con
Please all be aware this site is being used for a sophisticated scam. I received a call from someone claiming to be an agent for Cryptocompare and Coindesk, they told me that in 2021 I had opened a bitcoin account which had been suspended and wanted activating again before I could access the large balance now accumulated. I had no recollection of this transaction. They then pointed be to the CryptoCompare site on cryptocompare.com that purported to be my portfolio, this is a VERY clever fake screen apparently showing bitcoin movements in real time and my account details. IT IS A TOTAL FAKE. It showed I had made this payment in 2021 and the date I transferred the money. Their request was for over £500 to make my account active again. I could not remember this payment and so contacted my bank who supplied me with a statement for the whole of 2021, guess what? No such payment. Be careful, these are seriously talented conmen.
Scam.
Scam.
Anonymous is calling about site and trying to get me to login.
Never had or will never buy bitcoin.
Scam company.
Scam company.
Them are contacting via number that are not active and tried to get any bank details.
Please avoid them at all costs
Please avoid them at all costs. My experience with this firm was bad. I couldn't gain anything with them, and all they keep demanding is just for me to keep adding more funds. Stay away from them if you don't want to lose. Choosing to move on with PAIVA has been the best decision so far.
I used to read the articles
I used to read the articles, obvious scam projects are advertised all the time, disguised as article's, I doubt there is any scrutiny going into vetting these adds, well know scams are still being touted , obviously ccpr just wish to clip the ticket for advertising dollar, it has
reached a point that any new projects promoted here I just assume to be scams,

Need comments and need you improve immediately about "to lift the account suspension" Why request customer have to transfer such a large amount to lift the account suspension? Customer don’t have that much money." I am the one who faced this issue.
Questionable ads, spam, troll, scam accounts
Questionable crypto gambling ads and the forum is a dump hole.
a large part of this site contains troll accounts, spam posts, scam posts and the mods aren't doing anything.
Reporting doesn't work, no action from the mods, even the contact form doesn't help to get the mods in action.
The reactions from cryptocompare below on cleaning up the site are BS, the site is today a bigger dump hole than in 2018.
Stay away from this site if you want real information. IMHO

Used to be a good site up to about 2018. Mainly used it for their portfolio which is unusable now. Hasn't been updated and way too many tokens I find i can't track. Much better alternatives. It was good while it lasted though.
The content is good but the website…
The content is good but the website itself - just a big marketing portal for the ICO companies.
SCAMMERS!! THEY TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME
I don't have any crypto left and they are still not responding to my emails or calls!
I was lied and ripped off by these crooks!! There will be big consequences!!!
Don't order from cryptocompare.com they are scammers!
The review below is fake. This website stole my money too and never bothered to even send me a tracking number, let alone a receipt or invoice. It is funny seeing them asking for a receipt when they don't send them in the first place! Beware of these scammers and keep your money safe!
Very poor customer support
Very poor customer support, the forum is extremely poorly moderated. People are banned for no reason if the opinion doesn't fit, in contrast severe insults and comments are left standing.

This website is mainly informative but due to the nature of the field. The problem is that there is alot of false advertisement
They will do all to advertise scam…
They will do all to advertise scam companies and earn one penny, be aware of this website there's plenty of better websites. Other than that it's accurate showing prices for crypto coins.
