He fixed a water leak in my house in January and said we need to order a motor for the pump. We paid him£806. He said he has ordered it. I have been chasing him every week. He always said it'll arrive soon. It's been 6 weeks and we still don't have the water pump. He now does not answer my phone calls and messages.
Update: He recently has totally ignored my messages and phone calls. I asked him for a refund, otherwise I will contact Trading Standard. He replied: please do. I suspect he is also evading VAT. He charged me 20% VAT but there's no VAT registration number. I asked him for it and he refused to provide it.

We hired him to issue a no‑leak certificate for our recently bereaved neighbour, and the experience has been extremely distressing.

He charged her over £2,000 for a few tap replacements and additional work that was never completed. The no‑leak certificate was never provided, the toilet she paid for was never supplied, and he failed to give any proper itemised invoice or documentation. Instead, we received a series of dramatic excuses and delays.

We deeply regret bringing him into her home, especially given her vulnerable circumstances. We made the mistake of not checking his background first, and it has been an expensive lesson.

His behaviour involved pressure tactics, lack of transparency, and incomplete work. Based on our experience and the pattern we later discovered in other reviews, we believe people should be extremely cautious before hiring Carl Knox.

We are pursuing this formally and will not be leaving the matter unresolved.

BEWARE of CRPDLtd (also go by CRP Plumbing & Drainage). They're a FRAUD and a SCAMM. This company led by Carl Knox deceived us with false leak problems to demand upfront fees for unnecessary repairs. When I tried to cancel and get a refund, they disappeared. Turns out, this company was already dissolved. DO NOT deal with this company. They will rob you. They're experts in deception and will only cause you anguish and financial loss. Stay away from Carl Knox and his illegitimate business.
