A fantastic week on the Llangollen Canal with Crest Narrowboats
Finally got around to taking our canal boat holiday with Crest Narrow Boats in April 22, first booked for March 2020 and then delayed by the pandemic and overrunning canal works. Patience paid off. We had a fantastic week on the Llangollen canal, with so many sights and experiences, including two aqueducts (one being the iconic Pontcysyllte), 3 tunnels, the imposing Chirk viaduct and interesting challenges getting in and out of Ellsemere and Llangollen via narrow channels. Overnight stay at Blake Mere where the canal runs alongside the lake was a real treat as was the meal in the Corn Mill pub in Llangollen. Thanks to Crest who maintained the original price, upgraded us to a higher season week and an extra night, and provided a thorough run-through before we set off. This is the second time we have been out with them and will definitely return.
