Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of products, frequently encountering issues such as items breaking down shortly after purchase, being defective upon arrival, or failing to perform as expected. Reviewers also reported considerable frustration with the warranty process, describing it as difficult to navigate, with claims often being denied or requiring extensive effort and documentation. The customer service was consistently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and providing inadequate support, leading to prolonged resolution times or no resolution at all. Some people were dissatisfied with the company's contact methods, finding it challenging to get in touch with a representative or receive timely responses. Ratchet is giving me the gears

You will find this review on Trustpilot for Black and Decker as well. I have a 3 year old Craftsman ratchet that failed. It was a replacement for a 30 year old tool. The fact that it only lasted 3 years said something about the quality. I went to the store as that used to be the way to get warranty exchanges for defective items. Not anymore. You have to call customer service and initiate a warranty claim. They say that it will arrive by the end of that day. I've been waiting 4 days now. After you send it, it takes 7 to 10 days for them to "verify " that the item is broken and then they will send a new one (maybe?). Craftsman, when they were a division of Sears, sold a quality product and stood behind them. You took it to the store and they gave you a replacement, no questions asked. B&D doesn't subscribe to that theory. As I haven't received the shipping label, I have no clue as to how long the process will play out. I'm not holding my breath. I will though be looking for a different tool brand. One that isn't affiliated with B&D. Or B&S if you know what I mean.

Trying to get help w/ a Craftsman self…

Trying to get help w/ a Craftsman self propelled 21” mower purchased June ‘25, less than year old, at a local Ace Hardware. I’ve had 2 issues, from the first use grass clippings would blow through back chute door onto mower deck & pile up there causing me to stop & blow off before continuing cutting. I’m using duct tape to block 2 entry points between top of chute & deck. Another issue, it didn’t start on first use on April ‘26. Finally a former Ace Hardware employee got it to start. I talked to Ace about issues & they referred me to Craftsman, who I communicated with by email. I did talk to someone who gave me an approved Craftsman/MTD repair shop to check out. It was 30 miles away & they indicated if operator error my responsibility, only if mower problem would warranty be honored. I used mower per instructions since I bought. Also they said would have mower in shop +/- 2 weeks.
Really frustrating to go through all this

Craftsman used to be THE BEST

Craftsman used to be THE BEST, man have they lost it. we bought Craftsman Z5800 a zero turn mower. WHAT A POS. We have contacted warrenty twice and they always say, it's not under warrenty. Or you have to bring it to us, and it could take up to six weeks. Only had it a little over a year and it has broken down 3 times. We are done with Craftsman, and I promise you, I will spread the word.

2.5 gallon shop vac

I recently purchased a small shop vac 2.5gallon 2.5hp and I really have buyers remorse, this is the lowest quality product I have purchased in a long time. The housing is super flimsy and the motor sounds like it has a hand held size motor. It does the job but I really expected more from Craftsman. I think I could have gotten the same quality shopping Temu. 2 thumbs down Craftsman I won't be purchasing any more of your products in the future.

I bought craftsman snow blower 28” in and of 2021 but the machine never work well so after repair under manufacture warranty it start to work but not much of snow in winters 2023 & 2024 to really tested when big snow comes in the fall of 2025 machine shows a problem to start , after mechanic received a new battery fail to solve a problem they Lear a lot of other items were defected as well therefore cost of the repair was greater than &400 and warranty already expired, because of terrible winter I was forced to buy another blower but I won’t keep putting money into that machine any more, the mechanic was going to contact with manufacture regarding necessary repairs and I am still waiting - at this point I am very upset about whole situation because neither craftsman nor mechanic takes a blame for failer machine but it is hard for me to give anyone good reviews

I really want to give this 0 stars but that isn't an option. I purchased a riding lawn mower that has never ran properly and had paint damage upon delivery. I have tried to return it to Lowe's and contacted Crafstman numerous times to refund and return my product. Nobody responded to my emails, managers have not returned calls when requested. The customer service is as bad as the mower. 6 months later I am still trying to resolve this issue.

Electric pressure washers

Purchased at least 8 electric pressure washers. They were helpful and made the warranty process easy until i had to replace 3 or 4 over time due to them all having the same issues over time. After getting 3 or 4 replaced they made it more hassle than it was worth to continue buying their products knowing they would only last 5 or 6 months at most being used daily and would expect me to ship every one back that always went bad leaking oil and locking up.

I have spent thousands on craftsman tools simply because how amazing and simple the warranty process was well after my tools started giving out and breaking i started to do warranties and for some reason they had a really big issue because it was multiple items like I purchased all of this now that I wanna warranty them out ya wanna not so it because of the quantity so basically spend all your money but your warranty don't mean nothing to them never again will I buy a thing from them i switched over to harbor freight from now on and now I tell anyone I see looking at craftsman tools to don't even bother buying cause its a total scam

Id give negative stars if that were a option. This company has turned into a total joke. Tools aren't warranted, cheap junk replacement if they even have it and the customer service is horrible. Just spent 40 minutes trying to get a shovel and a screwdriver warranted. Both LIFETIME warranty and didn't end up getting either correctly. Now they are telling me that the warranty is only up to what I originally paid for the "LIFETIME warranted items and I need a receipt. I'd need a separate tool box for all my receipts. Atlest Harbor freight has tools in stock.

Warranty on Discontinued Tool

I had 3 damaged Allen hex wrenches from a complete set that was over 20 years old on a discontinued product. Craftsman/Stanley honored the replacement warranty, no questions asked, after I simply provided pictures of the broken items. I was on the brand-fence needing new toolboxes. After my warranty experience, I chose to spend $2,000.00 on new Craftsman tool boxes. I will now only buy Craftsman hand tools.

Extremely Poor Service – Craftsman Does Not Honor Their Warranty

I’m very disappointed with the service I received from Craftsman. When I tried to use their warranty, I was given the complete run-around — transferred between departments, made to repeat the same information multiple times, and ultimately left without any resolution. It’s clear they go out of their way to avoid honoring their own warranty.
After years of trusting Craftsman for reliable tools and support, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company. The lack of accountability and customer care is unacceptable. I will not be purchasing Craftsman products again and would strongly advise others to think twice before doing so.

Philips Screwdriver Warranty

I have a Craftsman phillips screwdriver with a worn head that slipped in the screw head. The tool is clean and not damaged or abused and the Craftsman name clearly showing on the handle. Our local
ace hardware would not exchange it because they did not have the same color handle (green). I said the handle makes no difference. Despite having s similar replacement on the shelf. they told me to use the online exercise. Very disappointed to be brushed off over a simple screwdriver that they carry in stock. I left it n the counter and told them to toss it.

BUYERS BEWARE

If I can do less than one star it would be that these people are garbage calling the 188. Number is a waste of your time. I went into the store to return a Weedwhacker the four cycle in which I had bought the wrong one. I should’ve purchased the two cycle. The lady told me that I needed an RA number and that I would have to contact craftsman because it was past the 30 day return time I called craftsman a foreigner answered the phone and I could barely understand what she was saying but she made it perfectly clear to me that an RA number is not given to a customer. It has to come directly through someone at the store. I thought that was ridiculous. I said I am a consumer. I purchased your product. I simply am wanting an exchange I’m not even asking for my money back and she was just ridiculous when I asked to speak to the manager she says well that this is our policy. It was absolutely horrendous. I will never buy another craftsman ever again. I called Lowe’s and they were very accommodating and trying to work with me in resolving this issue, but they were not pleased that craftsman treats their consumers this way and will not stand behind their product.

Faulty mowers/terrible customer service

I bought a basic push mower from Lowe’s, a craftsman push mower, it hasn’t even been used 30 minutes and oil is leaking into the filter and it will not crank. Craftsman representatives could care less. They want me to take an hour away from where I live to get it worked on. A brand new push mower that is already not working. I am not taking it an hour away to get fixed. I highly recommend everyone who is experiencing this kind of thing to file a complaint with their local department of justice and their Better Business Bureau. I sure am.
