Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the food quality, noting that dishes often tasted bland, cold, or instant, a stark contrast to the old-fashioned cooking they expected. Reviewers frequently mentioned that the menu items had declined, with some favorites being dropped and the overall quality control slipping. The atmosphere and decor changes were also a major point of contention, with many feeling that the company had lost its traditional country charm and now resembled a generic fast-food establishment. I have been going to cracker Barrel…

I have been going to cracker Barrel restaurants since the 80s, we planned our trips around Cracker Barrel because he always had great food but the day I eat a Elizabethtown Kentucky and his worst godless meal I’ve ever eaten at Cracker Barrel. Don’t know what’s wrong with the 93 year-old owner needs to go back to the basics good food good service. He’s got charge a little more that’s fine. Put the biscuits in the jelly back on the tables when you get there. Serve some hot coffee, water milk whatever have great food and great service and charge what it needs to be charged because that’s why Cracker Barrel‘s about leave the pot and fans and grandma‘s picture and grandpa‘s pictures up. Don’t take them down. Don’t replace them. That’s my review that God awful meal Review

Chicken and Dumpling and Green Beans?

09/12/2025 -- I am writing this review on today's date, but it is one of those I really wished I had taken a picture. Yes, I agree that the quality of the food has gone down over the years, but so has the service. They make excellent chicken and dumplings in my opinion and you can also get one or two sides with your order. It has been a couple of months now and I have not been back since, but when the server brought my order to the table, I asked him, "What is this?"
He asked me, " If I ordered the chicken and dumplings?" I responded yes, but the green beans are supposed to be a side dish like the fried apples. He honestly looked bewildered. Instead of the green beans being placed in a separate small bowl on the side like the fried apples, the green beans had been dumped in the same bowl with the chicken and dumplings. Whew!! I had the young server take it back and I left.

Shepard's skillet pie

Shepard's skillet pie, meat was cold and not fully cooked. Carrots were hard not slow roasted. Falsely advertising peas, not a single pea in three different meals. Skillet was cold to the touch. Hash brown toping was not crispy.

TERRIBLE NEW LOGO - CB SOLD OUT

For the love of God please change the logo back to the original logo. It's not a petty request. It's about principle. Selling out to the man! Not that corporate cares, however, I will not return until the original logo is restored! You just lost a regular Sunday after Church customer.

Poor restaurant area now

Unfortunately the restaurants have had a rebrand. Now they don't have the same feel, plus tables that are too high for the chairs they provide you with .
We left one restaurant as they could not assist in trying to make the seat higher. Also the waitress chewing her gum welcoming us, was like she was chatting with friends not professional.
The second restaurant offered us to look at a booth. We tried this and it was slightly better, so we ate there as we had visited last year and my daughter was looking forward to going back.
Here the staff were friendlier and more accomodating

Not What It Used To Be

After decades of enjoying Cracker Barrel, I am totally done with it. The food quality has been dropping for a while, the order service accuracy is beyond hit-or-miss, but the new look proves they are totally out of touch with anything "country" or "Southern". The brand has been destroyed.

Get Woke Go Broke!

Eleven short years ago, I ate at a Cracker Barrel for the first time, and it fast became my favorite chain restaurant. Today, I announce that Cracker Barrel has officially lost all of its business from me.

When I started eating at Cracker Barrel, I was attracted by their classic Southern theme, beautiful country decor, good food, friendly service, and lack of alcohol sales. Within a decade, Cracker Barrel's woke corporate management has destroyed each and every one of these things.

The first thing seemingly to go was service. While I realize that, as with any chain, some locations provide better service than others, poor service was the exception at Cracker Barrel, not the rule. Now, as I have been to a number of locations, I have noticed that customer service is not prioritized at all. At many locations, I have had to wait to be seated twice as long as I was told, have been ignored by waiters and waitresses when I tried to get more napkins/ask for a refill/order dessert, and have been treated indifferently by management when I have complained about poor service. This has been occurring more and more frequently.

Next to go was the quality of the food. Throughout the years, I have noticed that the food has been less and less fresh. While I questioned whether such was the practice at a few of the locations that I have been to, I now know based on media reports, which directly source Cracker Barrel employees, that this has been an ongoing trend at many Cracker Barrel locations (reports of bacon being reused overnight, etc.).

Then, a couple years ago, Cracker Barrel made it clear that they do not care to be a family-friendly establishment anymore and decided to start selling Bud Dumber, Miller Low Life, and all of their demonic cousins. Despite my repeated complaints and my urging Cracker Barrel to cease alcohol sales (and I made very clear that they had stood out in a good way prior to these sales), I would always get some sort of canned response from management about how they "needed" to do it to "keep up with other restaurants", or something to that extent. I scaled my visits back significantly after this, but still went occasionally, particularly while traveling.

Last week, the final shoe dropped when Cracker Barrel decided to go full-on woke and change their logo and decor. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the old logo that they had for 48 years. People of all stripes had no problem eating at Cracker Barrel, and only an extreme leftist would be able to take this to such an extreme. Now, all of a sudden, they decide this is "offensive" to the point that they even have to change their message on their peg boards.

Woke CEO Julie Felss Masino is destroying this business from the top down, and Cracker Barrel stock prices are now reflecting that. To top all of that off, this "Eg-no-ra-moose" actually thinks that all of these changes are being well-received by the public.

Well, I am here to tell Ms. Masino and the rest of Cracker Barrel's woke management that they will not be getting a penny of my business until they restore the old logo, commit to keeping the current decor at its restaurants, and stop selling Bud Dumber, Miller Low Life, and all of their demonic cousins.

Get woke, go broke!

Don’t waste your time

I don’t know what happened to Cracker Barrel, but the food has gone completely downhill. Everything we had tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours — dry, bland, and just plain unappetizing. For a place that used to be known for comfort food, this was about as far from “comfort” as you can get.

What’s even worse is the way management seems more focused on messing around with logos, décor, and trying to look trendy and “woke” instead of fixing the actual problem: the food. Honestly, who cares what’s on the wall if the meal in front of you is absolute garbage?

If you’re looking for good country cooking, this is not it anymore. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

I'm subscribed to Cracker Barrel. But it now means nothing to me except disappointment. I stop at only Cracker Barrel’s when I travel and I travel a lot. They always felt like home to me. But now I feel so disappointed in this change. Why are you making this blatantly political change? Do you remember bud light? I no longer purchase that. And now I am afraid you’ve taken away my memories by changing the logo? All of the changes in this country and now there’s you. I’m proud to be an American and I’m proud of the traditions that made our country great. Goodbye Cracker Barrel. So sad to leave but you've forced my hand.
