ATX not Axcess…
I have been using the Wolters Kluwer ATX tax program for over 20 years and absolutely love it! A few months ago, I received an email and a phone call from a sales rep (Landon) telling me that Walter’s Kluwer had a new cloud based program called Axcess. After telling me how great his new program would be for me, he had me sold. I had to put down over $1,800. He sent me over the paperwork and I would be locked into that price (over $8,000) for 3 years. After downloading the software, I immediately knew that this tax program was not for me. I am a sole proprietor with zero employees. I don’t prepare any corporate taxes, just individual and small business (schedule C). I reached out to Landon several times explaining that this software was definitely not for me and that I wanted to go back to using the software I had been using for the last 20 years, ATX. He told me I was locked into the contract and there wasn’t anything he could do. I asked to speak with his supervisor, and finally was contacted by Jennifer his supervisor. After explaining to her how misleading Landon was to me about the Axcess program; and that this software was complicated and definitely built around a firm with employees that prepared corporate taxes returns, not my small business. She then told me that I could go back to using ATX, but I was also locked into a 3 year contract with Access and there wasn’t anything she could do. I asked to speak with her supervisor and was told that she was as high as it goes. I can’t believe I was treated this way after using the Wolters Kluwer tax software for over 20 years. I did purchase ATX again because it is a great tax software. I also emailed Jennifer and Landon several times explaining to them that I have never prepared a tax return using the Axcess software and no longer have the program on my computer. I will never use the Axcess program, only ATX, and requested a refund. I still have not received a response.
