I am doing an MBA on Coursera and their customer service is ridiculous. Every issue I have is just being dodged like bullets in the Matrix. I haven't received one single response, but they sure send t... See more

Shameful
They use misleading navigational experience: it looks like you're purchasing a course one off, while instead you are activating a subscription. You only realise what's going on when you look at the bank account. the customer care is rude and do not provide any evidence to turn down your request for a refund.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam, there is no support whatsoever, the bot is helpful as a stick in your eye! After followed their steps to solve my issue they disappeared and left me with no access to my course. Then cane back a month after, replying that they need all the previous information provided again!!! Send it again no reply, please save your money and your sanity!! Awful company and spiteful customer support!
Do not use these guys.
Do not use these guys.
They will do everything in their power to hide any subscription you have, make it impossible for you to cancel and then refuse a refund when called out on their terrible customer service.
Coursera are literally THIEVES
Coursera are literally THIEVES. If you cancel, they will continue to charge anyways and then tell you too bad. Do NOT register for this service. I have to dispute these charges with my bank now
Horrible horrible
Horrible horrible . Fake scam. Steals your money . How are they still in business ??
Absolute scam of a company
Absolute scam of a company. Tried to cancel after free trial and charged me the full value and wouldn't refund despite what should be within a cooling off period.
To make matters worse, their AI support Cora also separately granted the refund only for me to have to find out that this was incorrect when redirected to human support team.

Obvious scam as they post that their courses are free but enrolment still requires subscribing with credit card.
Even one star they really don’t deserve…
Even one star they really don’t deserve it. But zero,
Refund requested, subscription canceled immediately, no content used, 9+ days with no clear status, repetitive automated responses.
Avoid
Bad. Policies are not transparent and customer service is, well, nonexistent.
Scammers
Scammers, free trial collects your credit card information and keeps it. You can cancel the trial, remove the card, delete your account and you will still be charged.
I found it impossible to cancel this…
I found it impossible to cancel this service. I had to correspond with them and their AI generated responses kept sending me to a page with no cancel tab. They told me they could find no information on my account despite me being able to login. When I eventually located their cancel tab I was told I had no purchases despite them taking money from my account.
They are either massively incompetent or fraudulent.
They used to have lots of free things…
They used to have lots of free things and it was easier to navigate. Now it's random courses and strange billing practices with no customer service. Save your money!
If you pay go to skillsoft
To list some of the issues. Keep in mind I'm part of others that do promote coursera for certain things. And it's actually free for me and others. I genuinely feel bad for the people that pay money for this
Encountered an issue with a splunk class. It's a simple issue on courseras end. For those that don't know "Coursera" goes the cheapest route possible on tests and other things. Coursera runs the tests for every platform. They also run the customer support.
They've been trying to passive aggressively troll me for the past couple of months. They're basically just passing it to each other. And also lying. One of their people got scared when I informed them that the org that partners with them is aware of the treatment I'm getting. Every email I put give me their manager. And they ignore it, other details, and they try to grind me.
I'm actually wondering about their properties in the US, if they're actually based in the US.
Keep in mind the reason why I stopped using them before was because of their customer support.
But i do also see the numerous amounts of people scammed by them.
This company is pathetic, beware when you subscribe.
This company is pathetic. They are out to get you. I had started off a free trial last year and when I wanted to cancel they offered me a 50% discounted rate for Coursera plus which I accepted but don't recall it being mentioned anywhere that this was only for one month. I was then charged the full amount on 6th Jan 2026 which was a surprise to me. I immediately contacted their Customer Services agent who said since I accepted to continue after the free trial ended they cannot refund me. She made no mention of the fact that the only reason I accepted to carry on with the subscription was due to the discounted offer. She then just said cant do anything and disconnected me.
Sketchy Business Practices, Horrible Customer Service.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced. They "tricked" me into a $400+ subscription auto-renewal (I thought I cancelled and I'm still not entirely convinced that I didn't). When I attempted to get a refund, I had multiple customer service reps respond by dropping a link to their refund policy and terminating the chat while I was typing my response. Sketchy business practices and horrible customer service. AVOID.
I enrolled in the Google Cybersecurity…
At the beginning of the Google Cybersecurity Certificate, it was stated that learners would receive a 30% discount for the CompTIA Security+ certification upon completion.
When I tried to obtain or confirm this discount, I contacted support and was told that my case would be escalated and that I should wait. Several weeks passed without any follow-up or resolution, even after I reached out again. Eventually, the promotion expired without any clear explanation.
Both the course content and the Google Cibersecurity certification are valuable, but the handling of this promotion and the lack of communication from support were disappointing and could be improved.
Coursera’s pricing and subscription model is extremely misleading.
Coursera’s pricing isn’t just confusing, it’s intentionally vague. The problem isn’t “fine print.” The problem is that there isn’t any meaningful fine print. You are expected to pay first and then contact support afterward to find out what you actually bought.
I completed a Course/Certificate during a 7-day free trial. Only after finishing did I learn that I had to pay a subscription fee just to download certificates I had already earned. That requirement was not clearly stated anywhere during signup or checkout. Not prominently. Not clearly. Not at all. I thought I was getting a month of their plus service so I could try that out...nope. Just that specific brand's/companies stuff...
Even worse, Coursera Plus supposedly covers these same certificates, but the difference between a company-only subscription and Coursera Plus is buried behind non-descriptive marketing language. You don’t find out what you’re really paying for until after the charge hits your account and you start asking questions.
Support’s response was basically: “Yes, it’s confusing, but policy says too bad.” No acknowledgment of misleading UX. No transparency. Just corporate shrugging.
This isn’t education. It’s a billing maze dressed up as learning. If you use Coursera, assume nothing is what it sounds like, document everything, and expect to need customer support just to understand the product you’re buying.
Unauthorised charges - scam
Total scam website. Signed up for a free trial after being forced to provide my credit card details, and did not authorise the ongoing monthly charges. There is no ability to contact anybody from the company. Standard AI response to my email that do not address my query. There a no payment transaction in my payment history and there is no way I can remove my credit card details that don't seem to be stored anywhere visible to me. I have to cancel my credit card and get a new one. If you don't mind being charged by a company who are impossible to contact, then go right ahead and use this company. I certainly don't recommend them
Charged me £37 despite cancelling 1 day…
Charged me £37 despite cancelling 1 day after signing up for the free trial when I realised I should use a different email address.
Extremely difficult to request a refund, then put through chat bots, then eventually the human responder was unhelpful, curt and closed my case without actually helping. Avoid! There are much better platforms out there. Pretty sure their system is designed to trap
I liked the combination of lectures and…
I liked the combination of lectures and quizzes in the courses. I thought it helped compared to just passively watching videos. I think their UI/UX could use an update, however, and it was hard to reach customer service when I needed to.
