Horrible experience..

Horrible experience... AVOID THEM. They took forever to process my order and when i seen that most likely they would not ship in time I reached out to them to cancel and was lied to by Bret stating that they would overnight the delayed orders.This didnt happen and by the time they shipped ignoring my request to cancel if I could not receive it on time we were into November. Luckily I was able to catch the UPS driver to reject it . The service was horrible. i will never order from this site again.

Another horrible experience

Another horrible experience. I’m not sure how this company still operating with these reviews I wish I saw before hand. Ordered my kid costume 3 weeks before Halloween. A week before Halloween I reached out about status of order. Once it was clear that I wouldn’t get in time for Halloween I requested them to just cancel. And had already bought a new custome for my kid for activities prior to Halloween. Communication was great up until I confirmed I wanted to cancel and not to send the item, so that I won’t have to go thru the hassle of returing it. They ceased communication and ship anyway. Its scheduled to be here today 11/6/24 a week after Halloween..Just like that they won, because they’re banking on people like me who’s not going thru the hassle to send it back just to the run-a-round for a refund.

Scam! Can't even cancel because they don't reply to emails

Placed an order and paid extra for next day shipment.. 7 days later and still hasn't even been shipped. On the website it says order is "unfulfilled". I have emailed them twice now with no response back, I even messaged them on their Facebook account.
Iv been trying to cancel for 4 days now and they won't even reply to me to let me cancel.
Absolute scam!!

Wish I could give less! They are a scam!

Wish I could give less. Ordered with plenty of time before Halloween. Per their website and special holiday shipping times. The item never shipped. I worked with “AJ” who said he’d cancel my order. Never did and then said he couldn’t because it shipped. As of this writing USPS still has not received the item but I am being told they cant cancel now. I will be working with the bank on a fraud charge because I have their word in writing. RUN from this company!

Ordered on the Friday afternoon next…

Ordered on the Friday afternoon next day delivery at a price of £5.99, which I assumed with the weekend it would be delivered Monday, which I needed it for the Monday night, didn't turn up till late Tuesday afternoon! They ignored 3 emails I sent, no point in sending it back as I assume I would be ignored for a refund!

I see why they only have 1 star

I see why they only have 1 star. Do not order from here. Ordered 2+ weeks before Halloween and 2 days before tell me they "had a glitch from all the orders and they don't know when my KIDS HALLOWEEN COSTUME WILL BE HERE. NOW I'M SCRAMBLING TO FIND ONE. TERRIBLE SITE DO NOT SHOP HERE

They deserve zero stars

They deserve zero stars. I ordered a bunch of stuff in early September, all of it was listed in stock. No updates I would email and ask was what going on. After nearly 5 weeks of it not shipping and the company not being able to give a reason why or any kind of estimates ship date I cancelled it all.

Drop shipped garbage

Bought a costume but submitted wrong shipping address.

They claim they lack the space age technology to change a shipping address.

Pretty clearly just drop shipped garbage, you're better of finding the sweat shops yourself as they're not even good at being middlemen.

Ordered from them several weeks ago, went to the website and found that there was no number to contact
them, Just a generic email with a bs excuse, our systems are still being upgraded.We don't know when product will ship..

Absolute garbage

Emailed them after 2 weeks of no shipping notification & was told they’d just gotten a new supplier so it was likely related to that. 3 weeks later I emailed since it had been over a month & I was told none of the 5 items were in stock any longer. I was told my order would be canceled & I’d be refunded. No apology for just holding my money over a money & then giving me nothing. No discount code for a future purchase or anything. They hate their customers & they go out of their way to show you you don’t matter.

Costumes.com scammed me

costumes.com took my money in May and didn't ship my item. Do not buy with Costumes.com (also known as Rubies) if you want your costume by Halloween (or at all).
I placed an order on May 29, I emailed Costumes.com aka Rubies for weeks and weeks, and in August, I finally copied their executive team on a email and filed a complaint with the BBB seeking shipment. In retaliation they cancelled my order and lied stating none of this happened. So I am sharing my experience now.
Rubies Costumes is also known as Costumes.com and costumesupercenter.com They advertise same day and next day shipping for items that they actually do not have in stock or plan to sell, but they take consumer funds for it and hold the money for months. I purchased a costume in MAY. It is AUGUST and they still have not shipped the item. When I reached out in June, they said "system upgrades preventing shipping"....and that it would ship in the next week. It didn't ship. I followed up again and was told the same thing--system upgrades. It had been 5 weeks at that point. I followed up again and was told the same thing. So I left a review on their site and they deleted it (violating the CRFA) and emailed me telling me that I could cancel if I couldn't wait and INDEFINITE amount of time and they refused to tell me why now the item was not shipped since they were now advertising the costume with next day shipping but not sending mine. I asked them to clarify how a system upgrade could possibly affect shipping FOR MONTHS and also asked why they were advertising the same costume as SAME DAY SHIPPING on their site if their "system upgrade' was still 'affecting shipping'. They ignored me. I followed up again They ignored me. I followed up again. They ignored me. I followed up again. They ignored me. It's August. They took my money in MAY. They never shipped the costume, but they are taking people's money for costumes they don't have in stock. This is a pattern for this company. After researching consumer complaints, this is what they do to consumers. This is fraud, this is a violation of advertising laws. This is clear cut deceptive practices. They are still advertising the costume with next day shipping as I write this complaint. Today, I finally filed a complaint and contacted their corporate offices and instead of apologizing and shipping the order, they cancelled it and called me a liar. I have all the proof, but they don't care about customers or customer service.

Very Disappointed

Ordered on June 4, 2024, still no shipment.
When I inquired with costumes.com, I received the following response “We have undergone a system upgrade in our warehouse which caused a delay in shipping out orders. The system upgrade was scheduled to end on June 7 but was extended to June 28. Orders will hopefully start shipping out this week.”

Update: I cancelled my order on August 1st and received a full refund on August 5th.

2+ MONTHS NO SHIPMENT-- YOU PROBABLY WONT GET IT BY HALLOWEEN!

I placed an order on May 29, it is July 26, they still have not shipped it. When I reached out mid-june, they said they had a "system upgrade" at the end of May and would be shipping out by the beginning of July. They didn't. So I reached out and they said the "system upgrade" was still affecting them. It's now been TWO MONTHS and they are pretending that a system upgrade is the reason behind the delay, although this delayed shipment and runaround seems to be a pattern if you look at their reviews. I've been told "We have no idea when we will be able to ship it." It's been two months, someone could have walked it to me by now.
It's important to note, there was no notice of system upgrade issues until I sent in a complaint. All items show in stock and shipping next day. NOw they updated the items as "SLIGHT DELAY".
If you think TWO PLUS MONTHS with ZERO IDEA OF WHEN IT WILL SHIP is a slight delay, then don't be surprised if you don't get your costume in time for Halloween.

Fraud company

I ordered an item on June 1st still haven’t received as of June 22nd. Ive sent them many emails and they say there shipping it the same day then it never ships. Don’t purchase from this fraud company

I got a delivery but given no chance to return it

I ordered a costume and so far, I had luck in compare to some others here, it got delivered in a usual time (around 3-5 days).
But unfortunatly it was too large for me. So I wanted to send it back and get the money back, of course.

The page was offering a return process where you need to put in your order number and postal code. This was never working for me. When correctly entering my data it says for multiple days something like, "your date given is not correct" and another time later it said "Sorry there are no suitable shipping methods available" ... ???!!!

I wrote to the German customer care email address kundenservice(at)costumes.com .

First they did not read my stuff or where not understanding my German and wrote back the Link to the return process where you need to enter order number and ... .
I switched to write in English but later they wrote there were maintance work at the webside I should try again. Always nearly 7 days it lasts before one mail was answered and then it got less until they did not answer anymore at all.

So I got first stalling tactics and then ghosting or irgnoring.
Luckily I payed via Paypal, so I started the complaining/"get my money back" process there, where you also first go in contact with the Delivery Company of Costumes.com. After one day I got again a sensless standard answer like stalling tactic, which was not suitable to my complain and that the customer care would contact me. Nothing happened for 3 days or so an I wrote again via Paypal that this is not working at all, THEN I finally got my money back transfered via Paypal, done/sent by this Delivery Company of Costumes.com "Completely Independent Distribution Limited" and a standard short excuse.
Now I still have this costume at me as they came not with a working return process.

So of course this process was very time intensive. SAVE YOUR TIME, DON'T ORDER THERE.

Because of so many bad and different stories here (which I unfortunately did not read before) I would assume that this is tactile fraud what this company/website is doing in 4 countries (US, UK, Spain and Germany).

HORRIBLE COMPANY

Ordered a shirt so that it would arrive before Halloween. On Halloween, 10/31/23 I get an email that says my package was returned to sender due to incorrect address. First of all, the address was NEVER incorrect, second of all, it is now 11/13/23 and I still have not received a refund. First experience with this company and it has been beyond horrible. NEVER again. NEVER. Buy from here at your own risk but don't say the reviews didn't tell you so!!

Excellent and very quick delivery

Order made on a Sunday and delivered by Wednesday with delivery updates constantly received so I knew when to expect it. I was dubious due to reading the reviews on trust pilot but was so relieved to receive my order perfectly and very quickly. All I can advise is order with plenty of time if ordering at a peak time for certain celebrations, eg halloween.
