A subscription to slowly but surely lose all your money

I've been a member for several years, so I have plenty of experience to write this review. I am on a locked-in price, payed yearly, but will be cancelling and not renewing.

James isn't a scammer and doesn't offer trading advice, and he shows his portfolio by percentage weight allocation per crypto, which is useful. Note he doesn't say the prices he entered.

If you saw the prices, you'd realise that most positions are down 70-99%. He made some good calls in the past, but they're in the past; we're in the now.

There have never been instructions to sell any cryptos when in profit, which resulted in bag-holding and now we're all stuck with worthless bags and money lost.

There are daily update videos on weekdays, but they just say things like "x crypto could move to x price today". Never any long-term views or anything other than extremely short-term moves, which is completely against James' investment strategy of long-term investing in solid plays.

Unfortunately, too many people have lost too much money because of copymycrypto. If this was 3 years ago, I would have recommended this service, but as time has gone on I'm afraid this is a HARD AVOID if you want to preserve your capital.

Zero transparency

James likes to promote his service with his successful altcoin picks from 20 years ago. However, in this bull run he has catched nothing and nuked everyone's bags. Of course we haven't had altcoin season we witnessed some years ago but James tells in his promotional materials that it is inevitable.

Service consists of daily market updates where he just talks about where the prices are potentially moving on a daily timeframe but he never talks about the bigger picture and what he thinks about his portfolio. If some of his picks go -90% he just hides those from his portfolio and never talks about them again. Don't really know what there is to gain for customers as there is no plan for anything, just keep subscribing and pray that maybe some day you make money with one coin, I guess.

Don't give him your hard earned money

After being a member for 2 years i can assure you, it's not worth it! I didn't make a penny but i am left with a bag of shitcoins that are 90% down.

We join his site cos we want to make money and feel James can help us do that but sadly i think his game is to take our trust and money and keep us as members for a long as possible.

BTC hit a new high in the summer but James didn't tell us to sell our alts - not that there was much point for me cos altcoins havent had a season and as i bought at the top when i joined, i still wasnt in profit.

that's a problem. Crypto is all about when you buy and James just lets you buy when you join his site. In the time i was a member, he only sold twice and that was cos the coins were dead. There was little explaination as to why or what to do if it meant you'd be selling at a loss - like me. If you're going to trade altcoins, it's all about timing when you buy. It's such a risky play but James talks like it's solid.

In his daily videos he's talks about short term movements but never about how long till the coins make a big move up into profit. Meaning it could be years. That's why i left. I wasnt prepared to pay him every month potentially for 4 more years without making any profit.

James still likes to state on his Youtube videos that we're in a bull market right now. If he keeps saying that, it will eventually come true but i expect i'll watch what i hold go down even more significantly first and i have no idea when they'll recover or if they will! Which is why continuing to buy at lower prices is also super risky and could mean throwing good money after bad.

James or his team do not reply to emails but every now and again James will state in his videos about chatting to members and getting 'thank yous for making them money' - it's BS!

The one positive i will say is that i do think James knows how to read charts and does know his stuff regarding the markets and trading. You might learn things from his videos. But i can't continue to have blind faith in him especially as he doesnt answer questions, you can't talk to other members and there's no clear longterm outlook and no profits made short-term. If that sounds good to you, go ahead. Otherwise, id suggest using the membership fee to buy monthly installments of BTC instead and sell in ten years time. Wish i'd done that - it's what i'll do from now on.

James is not a scammer but you won't make money with him.

First of all, James isn't a scammer but you won't make money short term out of the crypto he chose.

80% of his portfolio is allocated into top 10 cryptos, another 10% into fiat and the rest in mid to low cap shitcoins.

In the 2 years I was subscribed he only bought 4 times and sold 2 times... every time the markets rallied he rode the coins up and down without taking any significant profits... James hasn't been a genius 100x altcoins finder for a while.

ALL his revenue comes from the subscribers and not the crypto picks he chose since in those 2 years I have never seen him sell into profits, just buying at bad times and selling the other poorly performing cryptos to average down the others. He will not give you indication when the markets have bottomed or topped that would give you a good opportunity to buy/sell his picks unless he intends to buy/sell himself.

To be fair... I learned a lot from the technical analysis he made. He will often make a bullish AND a bearish prediction and say he was right all along when either prediction comes true... which is kinda lame.

Not wise to invest fully in altcoins

I used James’s service for about two years. His portfolio consists entirely of altcoins. What I’ve noticed is that he often comes across as optimistic and bullish about the altcoin market. He also frequently points out when his predictions are correct, but when he’s wrong, he doesn’t mention it. This doesn’t give me a good impression.

As we can see, altcoins have been bleeding more and more lately, with only short upward movements in between. I get the impression that he’s not fully aware of the actual state of the altcoin market, especially when I compare him to someone like Benjamin Cowen. Since I became a member, James has constantly been talking positively about altcoins and that an alt season is near. But if you follow more realistic analysts like Benjamin, it’s clear that it hasn’t been the right time for an alt season for the past few years.

James takes a long-term approach, and it’s possible that his portfolio will rise significantly at some point, but in the short-mid term, he’s not being very realistic. He has changed his website, which is a good thing, because his previous one gave the impression that you could make a lot of money in a short period.

At the end of 2024, my portfolio had tripled in value, but James never advised taking profits. In hindsight, I really regret this, because after two years of membership, my portfolio is now worth even less than when I started during the bear market. I haven’t made any profits, and I’ve spent around $1,200 on his membership.

To be fair, you can learn quite a bit from his daily chart analyses if you’re a beginner — he does explain technical setups clearly. However, what’s missing is proper guidance on when to enter his portfolio positions. Without that, many members ended up with portfolios that went completely underwater.

Also, from an investment standpoint, I don’t think it’s wise to be 100% in altcoins. Bitcoin remains the dominant asset in the market, and if you had simply invested in Bitcoin over the past two years, you would have seen much better returns.

All in all, I get the feeling that James wants to have as many paying members as possible, which makes him come across as overly optimistic (probably also to avoid losing members).

My feedback for James would be: admit when you’re wrong, and talk more about the current state of the altcoin market and why it’s been dropping so much.

Sad that James has started writing fake reviews here. I hope no sane person here reads all the 5 star fake reviews and thinks they are real. Likewise the wills on his website which are also fake. I have subscribed to this "guru's" service for the past 3 years and have lost over 75% of my portfolio since then. Whatever you do, stay away!!!

Don't believe the 5 star reviews

First of all, don't believe the five-star reviews. They were written a day apart, so it's obvious they were were coordinated and probably written by people on the team or even James himself. Otherwise, no one in their right mind would give this service five stars. I've been with the service (regrettably) for multiple years, and having followed James' picks, I'm down on average about 60% at the moment. His picks have just not played out, and when picks go terribly wrong he just flat out doesn't mention them again, like XEN and DBXEN. Both of them have crashed since he first mentioned buying them, but in his videos, they're on his slide that he never shows or talks about -- they're something he needs to hide so as to protect his reputation. He only shows the first slide with his main picks, which haven't done that well either.

For someone who's totally inexperienced with crypto, the service might be of some value, but it's really not all that helpful. He gives a little market overview on a nearly daily basis through email and video, but he'll go both ways with his predictions, like "I can see Bitcoin either going up to x, or going down to y." And then the next day, he'll say, "I was right -- Bitcoin hit x." Well, duh! If you predict both scenarios (Bitcoin going either up or down), of course you're going to be right!

Overall I'm disappointed at having joined and even more disappointed by the dishonesty in the five-star reviews here and sometimes in his emails. He creates emails with supposed members praising him and his picks. There's just no way that's possible given the performance of his altcoin selection over the last few years. These include coins like Verasity, VAIOT, and Flux. If you don't believe me, take a look at their performance and tell me if they've made any profit for anyone who's bought over the last year or two.

James isn’t a scammer

James isn’t a scammer, but I wouldn’t choose his service. Holding Bitcoin would make you far more money without the risk.
Straight from the start, the whole premise of copying his portfolio is flawed, because WHEN you buy is everything. And when you first join and copy his portfolio, you could be buying them after markets have already rallied and already seen most of their gains. Plus he is unclear when to sell. Admittedly it’s been a pretty awful market the last 12 months, but I don’t think copying his cryptos, which are average picks at best, are the way to go. Far better to learn about crypto from watching YouTube videos from reputable influencers like Virtual Bacon, Benjamin Cowen etc. Also his upselling is extremely nauseating. On one occasion he made nightly videos, telling how angry he was about the lack of financial education in schools today. And how he was having to teach his own kids, and just wanted to “open up” to us about his frustrations. It turned out to be just another shill to make money when on the third night he said “it makes me so angry, so I’ve created a financial education course that you can now buy”. It was just all a bit insincere and creepy. Anyways, I asked for a refund as I wasn’t learning much or making any money and was promptly refunded, so all good there.

Con Artist

I won't be so sinister as to call you a con artist. However, not one of your suggestions has come through for me not even short term. NOT ONE !!! Luckily I didn't trust you blindly and only betted a tenner here and there. Lost it all though so probably a couple of hundred quid in 2 years. Gutted as I'm far from loaded. Thanks for nothing.

Been a member for little over a year

Been a member for little over a year. I think James is not scamming anyone, but I do not think copying his crypto is helpful. He does not at any point tell when to liquidate or buy. So you make some profits, but since you are not advised when to pull, you will lose it faster than earned.
I think him making other people wealthy was a one time lucky shot. Never happened again.
Meanwhile, he earns at least 1000x$50 per month, that is good business for him. 50K per month, yeah James is getting wealthy over backs of believers. So for him there is no risk at all while getting wealthy.
So after one year copying I ended up with the exact same amount but payed James 600$, pretty useless.

my experience with cmc is as such:

my experience with cmc is as such:
start with a big investment mimicking his coins, after just a few days i had lost 20 percent of it as he does not explain when to buy or wait for an opportunity.
in the meanwhile other coins old and new were soaring, so i decide to make another much smaller investment in coins i simply found trending on social media, mostly ai agents, and selling as soon as i was in profit ,then wait for them to fall, and buy again rinse and repeat.
in two weeks my smaller investment had flipped the (much) bigger one, at that point i decided to sell all his coins and unsubscribe.
at the time of writing this review another month have passed and out of curiosity i looked at the coins he choose and they are still languishing even worse.
on a positive note i had no problem being refunded and he is no scammer, but still,
if you are completely new to crypto and dont want to bother too much with research simply wait for the market to go down, accumulate one of the major coins, and consider it a long term investment

$1 trial offered... charged $69 twice!!

Signed up for a $1 month long subscription which was a referral from Tin Foil Hat with Sam Tripoli's podcast... Tried to immediately charge my card twice for $69 within minutes... Luckily my bank marked it as suspicious fraud and did not allow either charge. Complete scam. I was under the impression I was being charged for $1 to try the services, am so glad my bank is smarter than me after reading all these reviews.

They never respond to emails and never take profits. I hope we get another altcoin season so I hopefully can recover the 60K I've lost by following the strategy of Copy My Crypto. They should have sold in March and bought back in later. That's what most experienced investors did.

A sloppy investor posing as an expert

This guy is not a scammer, but that's all the good things I can say about him. He holds a lot of large caps that did well in previous bulls but that are very unlikely to outperform the market this time, he has no sense of where we are in the cycle and where the money will flow to next, buys many shitcoins that tank and never talks about them again, he doesn't take profit on time and he has no clear exit strategy. If you copy this guy's crypto, in the best case you will do as well as the market average, in the worst case you will get rekt. If you don't have much crypto investing experience, just hodl BTC, you will probably do just as well.

'Copy My Crypto' - REVIEW

I like that he shares new coins with the group that he thinks have potential, he goes into a lot of good detail.

An analysis video is released almost every day, providing valuable insight, pretty repetitve but thats part of the long hold game and I dont mind that one bit.

What I really don't like....

When he shows you his portfolio holdings, he does not discuss why the percentages have changed, it goes unmentioned mostly which is really fkn annoying.

You can't ask questions, which is somewhat understandable as it avoids dumb questions, but there are bound to be intelligent ones as well. Unless its about something else he's selling...

He has never discussed potential exit of the hodlings for example, if coin X reaches a certain price, it would be time to sell... could be a reason why but still since we can't ask questions there is no way of knowing.

My advise to anyone considering joining is to do so, look at he portfolio, stick around a few months and see for yourself.

Copy my crypto provides a long-term…

Copy my crypto provides a long-term HODL strategy that requires little to no effort on the user's behalf. You receive daily updates which are comprised of a portfolio overview, short-term technical analyses (superficial market speculation) and news event warnings. You'll also get the odd up-sale email which is annoying... There is no one you can contact to answer your crypto-related questions and not even a group to chat with other members.

If you are a diligent investor and wish to advance your knowledge in this space, then CMC is a waste of time.

EDIT: STAY AWAY!! [Previous title: Probably not worth it (Original title: Decent with a few caveats)]

SECOND UPDATE:
In hindsight, this guy has no idea what he is talking about, making tons of money from subscriptions and getting all his followers rekt. I would give him 0 stars if I could.

UPDATE:
I have to take two stars off my previous review, as the portfolio is seriously underperforming the market. Many of the coins hodled by James appear dead, they haven't moved in ages and they will probably never do. James may argue that these will pick up in the next phase, but in the bull market everything moves. The issue is not whether these coins will turn a profit, but whether they will outperform the market. James bought very little while in bear, so now that everything is pumping our portfolio is still in the red. What a let down. As another reviewer put it, we could be better off hodling Bitcoin.

----ORIGINAL REVIEW----
I'll give James the benefit of the doubt and give him 4 stars, even though I was more inclined to give him 3.
I have been a paid subscriber for a bit of time. I've copied James' crypto, but of course, I didn't get the same entry as him. I got on board when prices were high and followed them as they tanked. My investment is now deep underwater, but to be fair, I subscribed when the market was already at a downturn, and I am in it for the long haul, so I cannot jump to conclusions right now.
CONS:
1) James provides market analyses every couple of days, which end up being quite repetitive. He tries to predict the short-term direction of the market, and then he goes “I told you so” when he is right, and just ignores it when he is wrong. Why would anyone want daily market predictions if I they are supposed to hodl long-term? Maybe it is just the pressure of providing content and justifying the price tag.
2) James has failed to adequately take profit when investments were in the green. He has sold too little, too late. Moreover, he has sold some coins when they were deep in the red and never mentioned them again as failed investments. For anyone who has joined after the summer of 2021, these were big losses. When he shills that 99% of his choices are successful, keep that in mind, investments are only successful when you have a good entry point and you sell when you are in profit. All other stats and percentages look good on paper but mean nothing actually.
PROS:
Apart from doing meticulous research on many coins, James also tries to educate regarding macroeconomic factors, fundamentals, technical analysis and most importantly the investor mindset. I have learned quite a bit about investing while a subscriber.
My take:
James is not a scam artist and he is not trying to pump and dump on his followers, as many influencers do. He is not 100% transparent about his profit and losses, but he is doing serious and passionate research and attempts to educate subscribers along the way. Only join if you plan to stay long-term, and be prepared for a long and bumpy ride.
