Absolutely horrendous experience

Absolutely horrendous experience, and I can’t get out of my head what my very poorly Pip endured on his final visit . Keith caused him excruciating pain taking his temperature , then informed me he had a tumour when he had been treating him for gastroenteritis for four weeks. He was rough with him ,and his manner was abrupt and cold. I can not get the images out of my head , then his comment was , he’s given up , when Pip collapsed motionless on the table, obviously after the pain he had experienced .I don’t know how I’m going to get over this .Thankfully he didn’t move when he was put to sleep. Pip was my life for 14 years and I can not describe the guilt I feel for letting that man anywhere near him

I’m hoping this post prevents more…

I’m hoping this post prevents more animals + Familys from being treated with such disregard and suffering. Yes Copper beech charge less than other vets locally but the saying is you only get what you pay for.

Keith is an abusive bully and thinks he knows it all. He’s always talked to me and my partner with attitude with our children there or not. Handling our pets roughly and just being blunt with us

Well I’m going to start by saying as I have to award 1 star, then the only star I am giving here is for Maxine on the day that this event happened.

As for the phone call my partner had to endure from Maxine the day after was far more than unprofessional.

Keith, the vet deserves absolutely nothing. His standard of practice is extremely concerning, the day i set foot in copper beech resulted in pure heartbreak. I should have trusted my instinct from when i heard him complaining that i was in the waiting room with the kitten in the first place

Our kitten biscuit, was rushed to copper beech at 17:40 on Wednesday 1st October. I arrived and was greeted by Maxine, lovely, polite and caring. She asked me to take a seat whilst she got the vet. From then on I was so shocked at the level of care myself, daughter and our kitten received. Keith is by far the most uncaring rude + cruel person I have ever encountered.

Keith said our kitten possibly had a middle ear infection. After 4 different injections, he said infront of my 9 year old autistic daughter “she may well be dead by morning!”

The next morning I rushed her to another vet’s.. there she still stays!! She was severely anaemic and nearly died. Not only that… but there was absolutely no sign of a middle ear infection.

After my partner received a call from Maxine. Which only got worse as she tried to argue with him down the phone, answering another phone whilst in the middle of a conversation with my partner.
I just found the whole experience completely upsetting and also concerning as trying to blame pure ignorance and rudeness on a poorly animal in the back. Telling me it’s lungs where full of blood, all whilst in the presence of my child.

I’m in hope someone sees this and thinks twice about registering here. I also thought it had excellent prices and good care for small simple things, but as soon as you need all care and attention for your pet you will be left wishing you listened to the negative reviews.

SUPER VET ~ Animals Over Profit ~ Lifesaver

My kitten Ruptured his eye
I had gone the Medivet & was charged near £300 just to Look at it & a painkiller, I was Quoted £1500+ by Medivet to remove his eye
The Medivet would Not allow a payment plan, even though I have been with them 11 years and would do Nothing without the Full £1500 Upfront
which I just didn't have
I was besides myself at my wits end
Apologies for being graphic
but my kittens eye was Burst Open
It was literally hanging out

Thankfully there's Copper Beech Keith & Maxine Charged me £350
to Remove my kittens eye
That price Included All his Medication aswelll as his Follow up Check Up Appointment to remove his stitches
Maxine even gave him a Blanket & Hot water bottle
she wrapped him in the blanket snuggly & placed the hot water bottle underneath him in his carrier

Without the Help of
Keith & Maxine at Copper Beech
My only other alternative would of been euthanasia to have my kitten put to sleep
as he could not of been left with a ruptured eye untreated and I just didn't have and could not get the money the other vets wanted

Keith and Maxine at Copper Beech
by Far put the Welfare Of Animals first and foremost
They are the Most Genuine Caring Vets I have ever came across

By Being Vets that Genuinely have the Welfare of Animals Paramount
by far over any profit

They Literally Make a Difference
between Treatment & Euthanasia

They Make Treatment Affordable

without them I would not have my kitten my little cotton Sox his name is
I'm so pleased to say he's enjoying life
Making a Lovely recovery

& We Thank Keith & Maxine
from the bottom of our Hearts

I Highly Recommend

Absolutely disgraceful vet

Absolutely disgraceful how the vet handled my cat. She was absolutely terrified. The attitude on him was disgusting. He dragged her out by her neck (not even the scruff) and forced her head down onto the table. I have never witnessed anything like it before. It's as if he can't stand cats and wanted to hurt her. He also swung the cat carrier (with her in it) onto the table as if it was a bag of shopping. I'm pretty certain he also over medicated her in order to make as much money as possible. 5 lots of medication for an ear infection? And at the cost if £117. The way he spoke to me throughout the appointment was very rude. I will be making a formal complaint about this vet and the practice and I will never set foot in there again. I see others have had exactly the same experience than me. I didn't stop crying for most of the day after I left as it also shockedme aswell as shocking my poor girl. He is an absolutely appalling vet

Copper Beech Vets are by FAR the best…

Copper Beech Vets are by FAR the best vet practice that I have ever been to! I would urge anyone unhappy with their current vets to give them a call immediately!
After a particularly negative experience at Vets for Pets, paying and being quoted ridiculous prices and being given incorrect advice, I called Copper Beech and spoke to the lovely Maxine. We were offered a slot to bring our dog along to the practice the next day. Within 24 hours of this call, our dog had been seen by Keith (who is absolutely lovely, so experienced in his field and will give you straight facts from the get go) he underwent surgery with Keith and was back at home within a 24 hour period! He had a ruptured nasty lump completely removed and is now so much happier. Keith is a wizard! This was done for a very reasonable price and he was provided with all the aftercare and advice.
Keith spoke to me after the surgery to explain what he had done and I came away feeling so informed and confident in his treatment.
Not only this, Maxine then walked our dog out to our vehicle and gave him a cuddle goodbye. She also called to check he was OK today!
The warmth and experience of Keith, Maxine, Steph and the rest of the team is something that you WILL NOT get at other practices.
And for the one or two negative reviews on here, please do not pay attention. Bring your pet along to this practice, it is the best thing you will do for them!
Thank you so much Copper Beech team! Xx

What an amazing vet

What an amazing vet! Caring, compassionate and honest. I went here for a 2nd opinion after feeling like Rufford vets were only interested in more money for unnecessary tests. I was told my 12 year old beagle had an enlarged liver by Rufford vets and needed a test for cushings disease (£300), copper beech said because he wasn't eating at all then cushings wasn't at all likely. Rufford vets wanted £450 for an xray on his liver, having already charged me for an ultrasound that gave no report, I was told it was screen only!
Anyway I saw Keith at Copper Beech and on feeling Alfie's tummy he felt a massive tumour (the vet at Rufford didn't even touch him!), he said he had very advanced cancer with ascites and fluid on his lungs and was very poorly and had a week at most. Because Rufford weren't honest and just think about money I feel that my boy was in pain for longer than he needed to be and it's just so cruel. Keith said if it was his dog he would put him to sleep that day as he was so very poorly, I spoke to my husband and decided that was the best option. Maxine came and gave us a hug and was so very nice and supportive.
On collecting Alfies ashes the vets had bought us a beautiful bunch of flowers and the ashes package had unexpected things like a paw imprint, paw prints and his fur, it was just beautiful. Thank you Copper Beech for all you did and for being honest with us, it didn't feel like money mattered to them and they just cared about my dogs welfare, that's how a vets should be

Horrendous standards of Practice …

If I could start by saying the only star I am giving here is for Maxine and the staff, they are the only ones deserving of a star . Keith, the vet deserves Zilch. His standard of practice from our experience is extremely concerning, abusive and has resulted in heartbreak. I should have trusted my gut instinct at his whole rude demeanour.
Our Beautiful gentle almost 10 years old Bulldog was under Keith's Care, only Keith Did Not care, he has treated him and us with such disregard and has categorically repeatedly told us that Our Boy was “ too fat” “ hes too fat, get the weight off him , the weights killing him , half his food, half it again “ He was diagnosed by keith with a chest infection and tonsilitis , meds seemed to help but we were still very worried about his laboured breathing , We asked him on next visit about 3-4 weeks later when we insisted his breathing still was laboured and asked Keith to do tests on him , we said he needs an MOT . Keith said arrogantly and rudely “why ? he doesnt need it ,HES NOT ILL “ he said he no longer had any infection , he went on to say half his food again. He roughly grabbed my gentle boy yanking his head round when he was clearly struggling, during him examining him.His rough cruel handling is completely unacceptable. He sent us home with tablets to help his breathing, stating he may need to stay on them. The tablets helped somewhat but breathing still was not normal , I rang copper beech last thursday and asked the staff to ask keith did he need to see him as still panting and advised them what keith had said on prev visit that he may need to stay on prescribed breathing meds so please ask keith for advice..
Maxine called me back and said she would send meds out and took my bank details. That evening my fur baby worsened and his gums went white ,he flopped down on his side, we were terrified and rushed him to the emergency vets who were compassionate, empathic and caring and they done extensive tests and told us he had tumours that had spread to his lung area and he was very distressed , My boy hadn't stood a chance at the hands of Keith. He had a dignified last couple of hours at this amazing emergency vets in liverpool with his whole family around him. I contacted maxine in copper beech the next morning to ask her heartbreakingly to stop the meds coming as our boy had heartbeakingly passed away . I asked her to ask keith why he had treated our boy with such neglect , disregard and ignored our requests to check him over with tests. I told her I wanted to speak to Keith. Maxine called me back later in day and said how sorry they both were and that they had “ missed the cancer “ By that time they had had the records from prev evening from emerg vets and Maxine kept saying all they can do is applogise. Keith did not have the human decency, regard or compassion to come to the phone himself. He is abusive and a bully and thinks he knows it all. He clearly knows nothing, He has always talked to us rudely and bluntly which Ive never liked or appreciated. My Husband used to say thats just his way. but in my opinion Thats how he gets away with it , it doesn't make it ok . Our boy was struggling and distressed for the last month of his Life because Keith said “ HES NOT ILL , HES TOO FAT “ Those words keep ringing in my ears . They are tormenting me as keith basically advised us to starve him when he should have been eating in luxury. We are traumatised and heartbroken . If this post prevents one more animal / Family from being treated with such disregard and suffering then its been worth it. Copper beech charge slightly less than other vets locally but the saying goes , you only get what you pay for. Please consider this as we are in absolute hell right now and our boy has suffered at the hands of the very person we paid to care for him. In my opinion this is neglect and Abuse !!!
