Long-term satisfaction

It's been 2 years since I bought my laptop from NovaCustom, and I must say that the experience has far exceeded my expectations. Their continuous support and care with various firmware updates, answers to my multiple questions, and (sadly) a warranty case on a faulty battery that they handled wonderfully is truly astonishing to me. I don't think I could have made a better choice when shopping for a powerful laptop to run Linux on.

I ordered a laptop for my son to be delivered to Canada. The ordering process was very simple to do and the laptop arrived very promptly.

After making the purchase, we discovered that the needs for the computer had changed. I was able to return the item and a refund for 97% of the purchase price was quickly processed on my credit card.

Would not recommend

Would not recommend! I had to send my laptop in for a screen repair. They ask for it to be clean or they will charge you for cleaning. To sum it all up I received my laptop back dirty with fingerprints and debris all over it. There is light leakage around the screen that wasn't there before. I was also missing several screws. Not only that.... I received my laptop back BROKEN! A plastic piece was broken off my laptop from where they were changing the screen. No note. No apology. No nothing. I message them on whatsapp and no response until I further massage them telling them how unprofessional they are in ignoring my messages. Then they simply say "sorry for they late reply and they apologize for the inconvenience" and nothing more after they damaged my merchandise that I paid for! There are better companies out there with better laptop chasis that offer better cooling anyways. I simply would NOT recommend at all!

Edit: See how that works. I get more of a response and explanation after a bad review but not from my initial inquiry about my damaged laptop. Very unprofessional.

The hinge cover was already loose when the laptop arrived, probably caused by a package that was not good enough. We tried to fix this for you by applying some glue on hidden parts, but it now seems that it was not enough. We have not received any request for a solution from you.

Please note that the FN+1 keyboard shortcut activates the fans to full speed.

Also, please note that we do not recommend to use the full performance mode all the time, but only sporadically if you really need the very best performance for a certain application temporarily. The performance difference isn't very big and the CPU and GPU get too hot by using this performance profile. Instead, please use Entertainment mode.

I will maintain the one star.
Even though you were the very helpful with the repairs and providing the required information to the "Customs" dept. of UPS, thank you, on the other hand, no ACTIVE involvement when the parcel was "lost" by UPS, even that I have provided the tools and reasons why UPS will deal with the sender/account holder with them. As per my active involvement UPS decided to investigate and, finally, deliver the parcel, after sitting almost one month in an UK warehouse, and almost 2 weeks after the parcel cleared Customs formalities.
The only thing required from your side while the asset was "lost" was an active involvement in tracking the parcel and, an acknowledgment that if UPS could not find the asset, we will find a solution and after that you can claim it against UPS.

Thank you for your extended response.

We have replied UPS' email on 4th October immediately regarding the request to supply the information about the shipment. We declared the warranty case electronically and asked another time on 11th of October to give an update about the shipment. This has been forwarded to you on these dates as well. Unfortunately, UPS did not reply but the parcel has been delivered at the Access Point on 18th of October, 2022. I agree that this has taken way too much time, but this is the reality since Brexit for EU-UK shipments.

We have taken steps to avoid delays as these in the future, by providing the needed documents including the warranty declaration by paper. We hope that this will speed-up the UK warranty shipments in the future. UPS seems to delay parcels that only contain a declaration that was submitted electronically, even though the needed information was completely provided.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

THEY ARE HONEST COMPANY / RESOLVED THE ISSUE !

This guys are VERY BAD characters, you know ?
They have been selling on here A LOT and might have been getting LOTS of positive feedbacks (Without a single negative one) but now, since they got their first (more wealthy) customer from a poor country in south america (myself) or in other words a '' one of a kind '' person with enough money to afford their top tier machines, then they revealed their true faces !

First of all:

1) I bought a top specs machine for around $2300-$2537 USD with this guys (Which translated to A LOT of money in my BRL currency of over R$15.000 pretty much including taxes) but on their website they GUARANTEED delivery to ANYWHERE in the world = DUTY FREE
Right ?!
But then since this was THEIR FIRST EVER SALE
to = A VERY FAR FOREIGN COUNTRY (Brazil)
Then guess what ?

They got MASSIVELY TAXED

(Which ended up with their laptop sale resulting UNPROFITABLE to them)

And what does this have to do with MY PROBLEM here today ?

I'll tell you now !

The problem was/is:

2) The machine/laptop they sold me was EXTREMELY/COMPLETELY GARBAGE and could not handle my heavy usage on it/off it, and presented SEVERAL '' UNACCEPTABLE '' PROBLEMS for the type of specs i bought it with as well as the price i paid for this laptop, like A DEAD MOTHERBOARD within just mostly 2-3 months after i had bought it....

Which they (WITH A LOT OF REGRETS, have REPLACED for me in the end, since the laptop was UNDER THEIR 3 YEARS warranty period)

As well as SEVERAL BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH issues (Along the way, that i choose to not report to them and kept quiet)

But now guess what ?

ANOTHER ISSUE on this s**** device !

After almost 1 year of use only
(I bought the laptop on 3 march 2021)

Now, the BATTERY has died !

And i contacted them to ASK FOR REPLACEMENT
(as it's STILL under warranty time) but guess what ?

It's been almost 48 hours since i messaged them to ask for the replacement and they simply DID NOT REPLIED BACK to my email !

So this is the reason why i'm here !

And i wanted to say: You will only see a companies TRUE COLOR, when they truly EXPAND OVERSEAS and get their FIRST ISSUES with people from ALL AROUND the world !

This is the case WITH THIS GUYS here !

Everybody sees their CLEAN trustpilot profile and etc
And think they are 100% HONEST AND SUPER NICE/FRIENDLY, but it's quite the opposite !

Not only THEIR MACHINE WAS GARBAGE QUALITY and gave me LOTS of problems (Despite having been SUPER EXPENSIVE) but their support so far WAS NOT MUCH HELPFUL either in terms of QUICK RESPONSES + PROBLEM SOLVING !

(Regardless/Despite being a bit '' friendly '' here and there)

So i'm writing this because i expect to hear back from them in regard to my dying battery replacement request in time !

And i won't accept keeping silent and waiting for the expiration date of my warranty on day 03 march (few days from now) in order to avoid having to replace my battery on purpose !

(Which would PROVE they are definitely LIKE I SAID on above, a BAD intentioned business/company!)

So that's it, nothing more to say...
Will wait to see what will be their attitude now !

Great experience & great laptop, expectations exceeded

Everything went smoothly and very quickly: my questions prior to purchase were answered quickly and competently and my special requests were promptly met. I was a little sceptical that delivery can really be so fast given the current issues with supply and logistics, but the laptop was assembled and shipped within 2 days as promised. The first impression of the laptop itself is also great and the self-installation (which I had opted for) went smoothly. I can really highly recommend NovaCustom!

Mostly pleased with my new laptop

I'm very happy with my new laptop. The ordering process was simple and the delivery was fast. The machine is very powerful, lightening fast with great display and probably more than I will ever need. There were a few teething issues and I had to return the laptop to have these resolved. This was easily done with a quick turnaround and I was kept informed throughout. I feel that these issues could have been spotted before shipping, hence the deduction of one star. The only disappointment I have is the battery life but it's not a deal breaker.

Excellent!

It's all about quality and customer service!

I normally do not leave feedback here and there but this is different, and I would be more than happy to recommend NovaCustom to everyone who reads this, here is why:

In the first place, after some search, I found out that is quite impossible to find my desired laptop and I need to configure it myself, thanks to configurelaptop.eu I enjoyed choosing and configuring my laptop as I wanted, a wide range of hardware is available for any taste and need, I received my laptop fast, and according to my expectations.
After a couple of months, something spontaneous happened to the screen when I contacted NovaCustom they were extremely helpful and fixed the problem ASAP under the warranty conditions at no cost!. Wessel (the manager) is an honest and helpful man, he knows how to keep the customers happy by offering them high-quality products and customer service.
There was another time wich I had a question about the Windows license and they were available on chat and responded quickly to my question. So, my experience is absolutely positive.

Spare Battery For Clevo NJ70-CU

After months of trying to get a spare battery for this laptop with no success I contacted Wessel and he replied within minutes and said he had got one in stock.
I ordered it Monday morning which was a Bank Holiday here in the UK. Ordering was easy and hassle free and I received it Wednesday lunchtime. I did not expect to get it that fast 2.5 days from order. WOW
That what I call service.

First class!

The experience you get is more than pleasing. Overall I rate the product itself and the service with the highest grade!

The Owner is always responsive and communication is very good since he speaks a lot of languages fluidly.

The shipping was rock solid: fast, free and secure packaging.

The Laptop I bought surpassed all expectations and was highly customisable. Nothing you will ever get from big companies and certainly not for this price!

I usually don not give a service or product five star rating but if someone deserves it its this shop.

Everything was perfect and I would recommend this shop to all my friends and family!

Great Clevo backlighting on PCS machine

Not really being a great command line adept, I found this guide on how to install Clevo keyboard backlighting brilliantly simple, and the results equally brilliant! I can now use the backlight functionality of this PCS laptop from Ubuntu 20.04
It amazes my that PCS don't bother supporting Ubuntu / Linux, because this Intel® Core™ i5-10210U laptop is just right Ubuntu when bought without OS.

Best online based laptop seller in Europe.

Over the course of my life I have bought a great many laptops, desktops etc. Without a doubt, ordering from Novacustom has been the best experience both in the professionalism of the service including answering pre-order questions accurately, truthfully and promptly all the way through to delivery and of course the end product which was built perfectly and is an absolutely beautiful machine. Top service! The keyboard on my laptop had a construction fault. Just reported it to Wessel and it took quite an effort to get a new keyboard over in full Covid stress out of China, but he found a way. Never seen such dedication before!
