We found Collect 1 very professional and the staff very helpful and hard working.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Collect 1 to friends and family.

Really impressed from start to finish with the whole team. Charlie was really helpful initially with the video call to go round our house and answer all our questions & then handed over to Rob who also answered all our questions really efficiently and both were very pleasant to deal with. Any changes in the quote from my updates were swiftly dealt with and money transfers were confirmed within minutes of arrival which is always a relief when you're dealing with a house move.

The team on the day were also great. I was told the crews would arrive between 8-9am and on the morning of the move I got calls from each of the crews with an ETA and one even called back to say they had hit a road closure so would be an extra 15 minutes. After a look around the house to see what they had to move, and then a quick plan amongst the crew, they managed to somehow get everything out and loaded in 90 minutes. Genuinely amazed at how quick and how hard they worked. Vans loaded & off to our new house.

The only hiccup on moving day was not one caused by the Collect1 team, they were at our new house at 12:20 and unfortunately our seller's did not pick a great removal team as despite everyone agreeing to vacate by midday, they were still out there slowly loading some garden equipment - nothing like the speed of our crew. We did therefore have to pay waiting charges for the vans as we had to wait an hour, but we obviously can't be upset with collect1 about these, even though they were frustrating to receive!

The unload also happened with warp-speed. I guess that's the only very very minor thing i could say - the team was working so quickly it became tricky to keep up with them in terms of directing where to go (almost all boxes were labelled, but they asked us to confirm each one). They were fully unloaded and away within an hour, which again was amazingly quick, the team worked so hard so all in all we would definitely recommend them to friends*

*and our sellers if they ever move again...

In the end, Collect1 offered a good value service. There were some really good things, and we got moved in the end, but there are some issues you need to watch out for if you're going to use them:

On the great side:
• Dealing with Charlie (the sales guy) was great, we got to a list, and agreed a price.
• Despite unavoidable (on our part) delays, they managed to get us moved on the day we needed.
• The moving team (Max and his guys) were really good on the day, hard workers, nothing damaged, loaded and unloaded the vans really well, and put all the stuff where it was supposed to go (following the labels) – can’t recommend them highly enough.
• The price, was well below their nearest competitors, which was of course very welcome (albeit, they’d quoted for a bit more, including some packing).

On the awful side:
• Despite agreeing a clear list, with the sales guy, the office guy didn’t seem able to get it right. Every time he updated the list it came back wrong. Was it a system problem or his problem? I don’t know, but it caused a ton of anxiety and a massive issue on the day.
• On the day, the estimate proved wrong, by at least half a Luton van! How it’s even possible to get it so wrong when the list provided was accurate, and we incidentally took a ton of stuff out beforehand (like moving all the clothes and soft furnishings in our cars, and getting rid of 3 big pieces of furniture) – I was absolutely staggered.
• I had to hire a Luton van myself on the day, and drive it. I am not able to recover those costs (nor the time the next day when I had to return the van).
• The anxiety, worry, time wasted, cost, can’t be counted. If I had written this on the day it would have been more negative, but having time to reflect, there were some good things as I've mentioned.

So overall, you pay your money and you take your chances. A good service as long as you watch out for agreeing the list and making sure the office gets it right. It puts more work in your hands, and I'd certainly recommend getting a personal inspection by them before agreeing a price.

The team were super polite, respectful and flexible throughout the move day.

Great moving service, nice people, on time. Great at resolving issues in the last moments. Did me a favor and picked up a thing that I forgot. Awesome work.

Charlie and Robertas were very helpful throughout the move and we communicated through WhatsApp, emails and over the phone. Robertas went through the item list with me before the move which gave me peace of mind. The two people that helped load and unload the van were quick, efficient and took the time to put our items in specific places when asked. They were very nice and friendly. I will use this service again and in particular ask for those two drivers again. Thanks a lot.

Brilliant from start to finish. The removal men were organised and efficient. Liam was extremely helpful on the phone with furniture volume etc.. Considering the over 2 hour journey they were very reasonable.
I would highly recommend them.

By far the most professional and helpful removal company I've dealt with. The guy's worked non stop to move me 200miles today. Friendly, helpful and extremely hard working. They made the move go very smoothly indeed ☺️ highly recommend 👍👍

Marks to furniture, walls and staircase. Declined to take 2 wardrobes upstairs resulting in me having to dismantle them and take upstairs and rebuild myself as they’re too heavy to lift alone. Walls will need repairing as marks and dents in new plaster and painting including staircase rails which are marked and will need to be sanded and refinished.
Chaps were friendly but wouldn’t be able to recommend.

Your feedback is not entirely accurate. I was advised at the time of booking that wardrobes would not need dismantling. I did explain at the time of booking the size of the wardrobes and followed your companies recommendation and accepted the price being proposed. However I did not receive the service as described.
Furthermore the damage to the walls was not as a result of the wardrobes in question but was caused by smaller bedside units being moved upstairs from the van to the the bedrooms. This was prior to the wardrobes being attempted to be moved upstairs. As a result the wardrobes were left downstairs being pulled along my new wood floor resulting in scuff marks and scratches.

Further damage was caused by a Large television set being left on my new oak coffee table (tv brackets facing down directly on the table) resulting in my coffee table being scratched.

I am sorry to leave negative feedback however this is a reflection on the service received. I was being generous with the 2 stars.

I was not offered a further dismantling and rebuilding service as you have suggested. I moved the furniture myself as by then Collect1 had caused enough damage to my home and furniture.

Had a great experience with collect 1, moving in to my first property, really professional service. Handled my belongings carefully and efficiently, would recommend!
