Longtime Coleman's Customer

I have purchased from Coleman's Surplus HUNDREDS of times and have yet to be disappointed. The very very few times I had issues like a missing item or broken item Coleman's instantly took care of any problems. Surplus is Surplus and often has a Surplus smell. Believe me I also sell Surplus on a much smaller scale. Seems like someone wants Coleman's to get a bad name.

I ordered a military surplus item from Coleman Military Surplus and the item they sent me was totally broken and taped together with clear packing tape. I called their customer service to talk to them about it to return or exchange the broken item but they said it was used and asked if there was anything else they could help me with, totally ripping me off. Basically a scam. Don’t order from this company, there are too many other companies that are actually legitimate out there. These people have zero ethos or honor.

Run away from this company like your…

Run away from this company like your hair is on fire.
Prices for some things are ok, just ok. No real bargains. But hold on it gets better.

The shipping charges they try to charge are absolutely absurd.
I just tried to buy the USGI bunk beds, which are basically frames with a spring foundation. Each bunk is a little bigger than a cot The cost of the 2 bunk beds was $300. The shipping was $400 dollars, then state tax on top of that!! I'm only a few states away from PA. By comparison I shipped an agricultural farm wagon from the manufacturer in Ohio to wher I live for only $300 and it weighed 2K lbs! I had read abut their ridiculous shipping charges in other reviews hoping this would not be the case for me... Wrong. Stay away from this company.

Wavian Gas Cans (not surplus)

Purchased 3 new wavian gas cans from them in 2021 and didn't use them until 2022 and found the nozzles to be spraying gasoline everywhere (lucky the engine wasn't hot). Contacted them and they told me they would sell me 3 new ones for $56 plus shipping. What nerve. Bright spot- The guys over at Wavian had me send them the serial numbers from my cans and they sent me 3 new nozzles free of charge!

Horrible experience

Purchased two surplus 'French Army Wool Blankets' from Coleman's Military Surplus, upon opening the box they arrived in my nose burned & eyes watered from a powerful ammonia like stench. I've tried washing them multiple times but haven't completely removed the offending smell yet. I'm not sure if it's from animal urine or human urine, but it's safe to say these blankets at some point became saturated with urine.

In close to 40yrs of purchasing surplus items from various sources, this is hands down the worst experience I've had.

Also, it's worth mentioning that I attempted to fill out a review on their website but it appears they've blocked it from showing up.
