Avoid, it'll cost you more than postage
As many have stated, be very, very careful. I was interested in trying the free trial via Facebook. You pay for the postage and then you're automatically signed into a rolling subscription.
There's a large amount of ambiguity associated with the trial process. It's a gateway trick to make money, behind the promise of a freebie!
Don't bother trying to get a refund, it won't happen. You'll just receive a standard pre-formatted email. Which basically says no and they send you screenshots.
If there was more transparency during the trial sign up, this wouldn't happen. However, this is their business model.
There's no such thing as a free lunch, buyer beware and be diligent, with any of these Facebook based freebies!

Pay for a sample set and get signed up to a £70 subscription without realising. Once you do realise and contact them they stonewall and merely send screen shots of how their ts&cs mean that you ‘signed up’. I would expect the process to be more visible, but I would assume that very few people would sign up for their over priced pills. Very disappointed - MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT FALL FOR THE SAME TRICK.

Stay away from Cogniora
Stay away from Cogniora - saw their nootropics advertised on Facebook and signed up to the free trial.
They ask you to fill in a quiz to determine what nootropics work best for you (some of the questions were dubious at best) and then offer you a free sample pack sent at shipping cost (no charge for nootropics). You are signed up to a free trial (10 days).
Very dodgy wording and messaging throughout the sign-up process to receive the free sample (you can only do this after signing up). It's very unclear that you will be enrolled into a £50+ monthly subscription after the trial ends - this is mentioned in small lettering throughout the sign-up process, which can easily be misleading. There's a fake timer to add urgency to subscribe, as well as fake product reviews (on a static image from Facebook - I couldn't verify any of the reviews were from real people).
I would question Cogniora's free trial process. You are sent a starter nootropics pack, but shipping takes a long time (I ordered on 26/08 and these were only shipped on 09/09, on the day my free trial ended. I still don't have them as of 22/09).
You don't have enough time to receive and sample the product and decide whether it works before you get charged an exorbitant monthly fee (you can easily buy the ingredients on Amazon for a fraction of the price).
Note for anyone attempting to cancel - Cogniora's site is bugged in Chrome. You cannot cancel using that browser, as you get redirected back to the order screen when trying to cancel. Use Firefox or IE.
The unsubscription process is unnecessarily drawn out and lengthy - but it is possible to cancel.
If you want to sample Cogniora's free trial fairly, I suggest signing up, paying for the shipping charge via PayPal, then immediately unsubscribing. You have the option to re-subscribe once (if!) you receive your free trial order and can dispute with PayPal if you don't, to refund the shipping.
But I wouldn't bother - can't trust a company with such sums of money when their trial process is so flawed.
--UPDATE: following Cogniora's response, I received an apology and a tracking number to a Royal Mail site. Looking at the shipping history, the package was deposited at the original mailing office in Lithuania only on the 9th September (!) - coincidentally, on the day when my free trial expired. So yes, international shipping delays played a part in delaying this, but clearly Cogniora were in no rush to send the free trial pack to me. Judging by others' reviews, this isn't an isolated situation, and it's likely I would've been charged the full subscription amount without actually sampling the product.
To Cogniora: appreciate your response and the fact you chased up on the free trial order. Unfortunately, you disregarded the other points I made about your free trial practices, and asserted I said you were scamming (I didn't - here, you clearly just copy/pasted a response meant for someone else!)
I did adjust my review to take into account that you shipped the free trial product, but all the other concerns I mentioned still stand unanswered by yourselves.

Complete Scam
I paid for the 'just pay for postage' trial, and luckily in the small print I saw that it automatically turned into a recurring subscription service, so I cancelled this option until I received and tried the sample they were supposed to send. Well as is the case of so many on here, it never arrived, I was given a phony tracking number and in the end I opened a case with paypal to refund what I had paid cogniora which ruled in my favour and refunded me my £1.95 (better in my pocket than theirs lol).
Please look at the reviews on here, there are so many negative reviews and experiences and in a contrast so many similar 5 star reviews which i have no doubt and in my opinion are fake. This is just a scam to get you on the recurring payments, which are not simple to cancel, an expensive payment for a product which can be bought for a fraction of the price elsewhere. They are not interested in the so called benefits of the nootropics, it is just a scam to get you on their subscription payments and get as much of your money in their bank account . BE WARY and BEWARE!!

My order is over a week late, Congiora's customer service team is just an automated email blaming their 'delivery partner'
I've searched their website and am unable to find a phone number to speak with a real person
Based on their dodgy business ethics, I fully suspect that if the order does arrive it will not be high quality or anything like advertised

Same as a lot of folk. Ripped off by £59. Over a very shady subscription policy. All these people cant be wrong. Avoid the free sample con that doesn't work at all. Customer service is terrible just re hash same excuse every time. Snake oil sales people hope they can't get away with this much longer.

Free Trial End Ties Into Subscription
I signed up for just a free trial to try it & I didn’t notice any difference & so did not want to continue.
A few weeks later I get a box of 20 in the post & check my emails & nothing about having made a purchase.
I log onto their site and see that I was charged €60 for a subscription each month...
I emailed to ask for a refund & return & was told this is what I signed up for. None of this was obvious to me when I signed up for a free trial.
Beware...
Also, I’m now sceptical about nootropics in general as I’ve been using a few different ones combined for months without a noticeable affect.

Guarana extract capsule

Free trial is an absolute scam
Free trial is an absolute scam, I contacted them today as I realised I had been charged for their subscription when I specifically refused to subscribe when I enrolled in the trial. Since the trial they have repeatedly sent me emails asking me to enrol to the subscription thereby implying that I was not a current customer. I have also not received their products. Customer service contacted me back to say it was my fault for not reading the fine prints, I have indeed ask a few of my friends to try the same experience and none of them noticed that despite refusing the subscription they actually automatically enrol you with the details of your card they take allegedly for postage. I am disputing the charge with my card merchant and will report them to trading standard as well,

Free trial is not a free trial. They send you the packs about two days before they start charging your account an extortionate amount of money.
I couldn’t cancel so In the end had to cancel my card.

Yes it's a subscription
I was quite impressed with Cogniora’s webpage as it looks well thought of & professional, yet I do always check Trustpilot prior to purchasing online.
I must admit I was left quite confused as there were a lot of negative reviews mentioning the subscription bit and no negative reviews on the product itself.
I don’t know if it’s because I read the reviews first but I did notice the subscription part being mentioned in a very clear manner.
