I have been a member at Cognates Nottingham for around 8 months now and it is one of my favourite networking events.

The team are so supportive of one another. I know that if I ever need a hand, both in business or personally, I can message anyone within the Nottingham group and they will help me out.

On top of this, I have received work that has amounted to 10 times the price of my membership, which I think is incredible.

I have made several friends within the group and socialise outside of the meetings.

I am so glad John invited me to join- it has definitely been a great investment!

I am not naturally a fan of networking, but I realise it is essential to growing my business. Nevertheless, even as a partially reluctant networker, I certainly recommend joining the Cognates Networking groups. They are less pressured and more informative than others I have visited. In short, the format is different to the norm but still very effective. I have certainly gained business and had a return on my investment.

John Whitbread, the founder of Cognates, is exceptionally supportive to all members. I welcome the 'how can I help you?' mindset, coupled with impartial advice and a genuine sounding board for ideas. John's approach is ideal for both existing and new startup business owners.

Well where do I start with Cognates? I joined 4 months ago never having networked before and I was very nervous to join the business world. John made me feel comfortable from our initial chat and after my first session I knew I was destined to join!

Everyone works for each other with no pressure what so ever. Leads are passed within the group, and they are all hot! Which means they are more likely to result in something successful for you and your business.

I look forward to my fortnightly Cognates meetings as they always seem to pick me up and get me ready for the day ahead. I've had days where I feel rubbish, but the John and the team always put me in a better mood!

The group has helped me gain confidence and helped me to grow on a personal level as well as a professional level. I can not thank John and the team enough! I don't think I would be where I am today without them.

I have created so many leads from my Cognates group, but importantly I have made friends for life and that I will cherish for ever.

I’ve been a member of the cognates Nottingham group since the start. It’s a great group to be part of and is more like an extended team rather than a regular networking group. The emphasis is on helping each other, and I can speak from experience that I’ve received a huge amount of help since joining. My business has grown hugely since joining, and it’s thanks to the support and referrals I’ve had from John and other members of the group. The ROI has probably been about 5x what it costs to be a member. I now consider each member of the cognates group as my friends.

I’ve enjoyed networking since starting up my own business, creating clients and making good friends through a variety of groups. Yet early in 2020 I was looking for something different. The Pandemic was starting up and I needed a different type of experience. So glad I found Cognates. It’s a fantastic set up, full of amazing people who not only want to grow their businesses, but also want to develop themselves. There’s so much support on offer from the team, all centred around the brilliantly structured fortnightly session and 121s. I’ve created amazing clients through Cognates, bought services from other members, had referrals, gained personal support, created business partnerships, and made life-long friends. If you’re looking for networking centred around people, then I can’t recommend it highly enough.
