The cafe is definitely worth a visit

If your visiting the garden centre I would highly recommend a visit to the cafe located inside.
I had the sausage & mash. Never did I think a classic dish could look so amazing on a plate.
It was definitely worth the money.

Shame about the low standard in the cafe

The 3 stars are for the Plant nursery and staff. I can't give any stars for the cafe. I ordered honey roast ham ploughman's. What I got was some dried up Salami , a dry slice of ham and a dry slice of pastrami. A few gherkins, a little pile salad leaves and bread so hard I couldnt bite into it. I don't know who is doing the kitchen but they definitely need training!! Definitely not a Ploughman's and hardly edible.
Bought the pot we went for and nursery staff are friendly and helpful. I would have given them 5 Stars. They know what they are doing. I wouldn't eat here again though.

The cafe we have visited many times as…

The cafe we have visited many times as they are dog friendly but each time the lunch and standard of service has worsened, on the last occasion 15/06/25 we had 1 cheese and ham toasty which was barely toasted and a jacket potato with beans and cheese which was Luke warm, this was brought to our table no cutlery or serviette. They seem to be taking on young students but obviously not showing them how to serve properly.

A very disappointing lunch.

A very disappointing lunch.
Went to Coblands Cornflower Cafe for lunch, at 1.30pm there were no hot dinners, no baked potatoes and only a small choice left of sandwiches served with salad and crisps.
I had a tuna mayo sandwich, the bread was dry on one side, but I ate it as little choice, then tried to eat the salad, which was old and black! I discussed it with the chef, he simply said I’m sorry I’ll watch that next time! I told him I won’t be going back.
What a pity they didn’t give some kind of refund or a piece of cake to say sorry as then I might have felt a bit happier .. Such a shame as it was a nice setting.

Very impressive..

We have driven past this place so many times over the last 20 or more years, on our way to Westerham or Bromley and I regret that. Today was the first time we actually pulled in and stopped and I was astonished at the size and enormous quality stock on display. I wish I had known about this place sooner as I would have stocked the whole of this years garden plants from here. Nice lunch of sandwiches too. Garden staff extremely helpful too. Top marks.

Bay tree replacement

We bought two twisted standard bay trees last Autumn. Planted in the same conditions each side of a path in an east facing position.
One has thrived and the other died. We returned to Coblands Sevenoaks with photographs of both trees early summer. The manageress explained it had been a bad year and would forward the information to their supplier. I received a further email saying nothing could be done as due to climate many plants had been lost. This is the only time a dead plant has not been replaced by a nursery, despite your guarantee on your website.

I’m a great fan of Coblands and have…

I’m a great fan of Coblands and have visited many times. Generally the staff are exceptionally helpful and cheerful. Therefore, I was rather disappointed today when I asked whether you had any Hollyhocks. The young lad said he didn’t know but would ask and would find me by the outside perennials. 15 mins later there was no sign of him so I was a bit disappointed to find him joking with another member of staff at the entrance to your cafe obviously having never having any intention of helping. Luckily I was able to buy the hollyhocks at the garden centre next door.

The Cornflower Cafe was very…disappointing

The Cornflower Cafe was very disappointing, cheese and ham sandwiches had sold out (and not made on the premises).
The scone was dry and powdery, tea cakes stale and stodgy.
The service was poor and slow and I was not charged correctly and didn’t receive an itemised receipt.

Great!

We purchased some plants, which arrived in the timescale specified and looked amazing. Well packed and delivered with excellent communication.

We have always been to garden centres before, never buying plants on-line, but we will be buying again due to the healthy and great quality plants that arrived.
