Each tour makes me more excited for the next
I have been on 3 tours now with Coaster Breaks, and plan to do two more next year. I did the Benelux tour with Sam when he was a tour guide, the Winter tour with Marcus, and lastly the Scandinavian tour with Marcus and Gabby (and Dan as extra van driver). No tour was alike and yet they all carried the same magic that keeps me counting down until I can go on another.
Each tour had a diverse group of people that share the same passion. I am an introvert who typically avoids social gatherings even in familiar settings, but I grew to look forward to sitting down for drinks at the end of each day because the groups were so accepting and fun to be with.
Details are always made clear which is something I value. I always knew where we were going that day, what hotels we were going to stay at, and we were told each day what time we would need to leave. As any issue arose, the tour guide was quick to change course and make the best of what we still could. From simple impediments like a ride going down, to larger problems like the van breaking down, I always felt like I was in good hands and didn't have to worry.
These tours can be A LOT. It's day after day of walking around, standing in lines, and sleeping in new places. So make sure you know what you are signing up for. They can be tiring, but they are so worth the fun that is experienced. I twisted my ankle and was limping through the end of my 2nd tour, but I chose to tough it out because it was worth it. Such a memorable experience you can't get anywhere else.
I cannot recommend Coaster Breaks enough. I look forward to trying out all the other tours and even redoing them as new credits pop up. I would do more if I had more time!
Perfect for any theme park enthusiasts
I joined the CoasterBreaks Halloween Tour across France and Germany in late October, and it was incredible from start to finish. It was my first trip with CoasterBreaks, and after hearing so many good things from other coaster enthusiasts, it definitely lived up to the hype. Worth every penny!
Everything was very well organised and clearly communicated. Marcus and Gabriela made sure we were always looked after, and they are both so friendly and knowledgeable. Marcus always had interesting facts about the parks and handled any unexpected situations brilliantly. If a ride broke down or the queues were too long, he immediately adjusted the plan using his knowledge of the parks so that we could still make the most of the day. Gabriela was always there to support everyone and to make sure everything ran smoothly as well.
As someone who sometimes finds social situations difficult, I really appreciated how comfortable they both made the trip feel.
One of the biggest surprises for me was Tripsdrill. I had no expectations for it, as it was a park I had never heard of before, but it completely won me over. It was so quirky, full of charm and out of a fever dream, it ended up being one of my favourite stop on the tour. Every park had its own highlights, and the whole trip ran very smoothly, from the hotels and transport to the time spent in each park.
The other guests were amazing and made me feel completely at ease. I loved every second of it and already want to book my next CoasterBreaks trip. I would highly recommend it to any coaster fan, whether you are travelling solo or with friends.
If you love roller coasters, book a week with Coaster Breaks
I have been on two Coaster Breaks tours, the Germany & France one in August 2024 (done by Sam), and the Benelux one in April 2025 (done by Marcus). My August tour was with Sam, who is no longer a tour guide, but he was brilliant company and was very good at his job.
Coaster Breaks tours involve some of the most well-regarded amusement parks in Europe (and beyond...?) with extremely high-rated roller coasters and other attractions which are at the top of any roller coaster enthusiast's bucket list. Marcus the tour guide is unbelievably good at his job with perfected strategies and an incredible knowledge of rides to hit in a certain order in order to get the most out of your day, and doesn't force people onto rides that they don't want to do and fully understands and accepts people's limits when it comes to a ride that may be a little too much for someone. Marcus is full of interesting facts and is a passionate theme park enthusiast himself who loves to share wild information about parks such as ride storylines, crazy restrictions within parks, or "dot-connecting" and figuring out what a park could do next with very high accuracy. He's funny and entertaining - always having something of value to say. The rides are almost always very high quality, and while there are obviously some... not great rides on the tour, the company makes it worth it where you can laugh about it with everyone. There is not a single dull moment of the tour.
The hotels are well-picked out with comfortable bedding, toiletries, adjustable temperatures and openable windows to let some fresh air in. All of the hotels offer breakfast (which comes with your payment) and after the parks, everyone comes down for drinks and continued hilarity around the table full of laughs. Dinner options are usually large western brands such as McDonald's and KFC but there are occasionally alternate options such as authentic cuisine where you can get a taste of a country's European culture. The drives between destinations (parks, hotels, dinner) range between 30 minutes and two hours, but this is always a manageable drive due to how good the company is.
If you're booking a tour, everyone else on the tour is just as passionate about the hobby as you are. I've made some awesome friends on the tours who I still talk to every day to this day, and we develop plenty of shared interests beyond roller coasters as well. We've met up multiple times outside of Coaster Breaks, and there is a group chat where people can link up at random parks and spend the day together or even book their own completely separate excursions abroad when the bond is strong enough.
If you love roller coasters and need some people to discuss the hobby with, then Coaster Breaks is the perfect opportunity for you. I could not recommend this enough to anyone with a passion for visiting parks. I can't wait for my next tour!
A brilliant, well organised experience
Recently travelled with Coaster Breaks on their Benelux & Germany and had a brilliant time. Marcus the tour leader was knowledgeable and went out of his way ensure the group had a great experience across the whole week. The transport was clean and comfortable and all hotels were very nice and to a higher standard than I had expected. If you like theme parks, this is an excellent way to travel around several in a short period of time and I would highly recommend it
A COASTER NERDS DREAM!!
11 out of 10!
Back in 2021 my wife shared a link with me on Facebook saying “this is the kinda thing you would love to do”
Fast forward to 2024 and I am just back from doing the final Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany Halloween Trip of the 2024 season.
I don’t have the vocabulary to recommend enough….. all I can say is, DO IT!
Sam was an excellent host and could answer pretty much any question the group had. Also had the pleasure of meeting Marcus and the lovely Gabriela during our time at our second park of the trip, Walibi Holland.
At the final park of the trip, Plopsaland de Panne, I was on course to hit my 100th Coaster alongside one of the other guests and of course we had to make it “The Ride to Happiness”
I just need to persuade the wife to let me go again lol. Hopefully do the South West Germany and France tour next. Need to get those all important coaster credits.
Best vacation in South Germany/France
I had the best vacation that i have ever Been on. If you like rollercoasters and want to meet likeminded people, I cannot recommend taking a Coasterbreaks tour enough. I went with the South Germany/France tour. And I had Sam Morris as a guide. He was a great guide, not only was the time schedule figured out, when to leave parks/hotels, but even inside the parks he made sure we were efficiently going from coaster to coaster, so we were able to try everything the parks had to offer. There’s a lot of driving though, on this tour, but Sam is a very good and careful driver. Overall I felt like I was in good hands and was just able to enjoy the coasters without stressing too much about all the practical stuff.
A dream holiday for anyone into theme parks
Amazing experience 10/10 I went on Netherlands Germany Belgium tour with Sam Morris as my tour guide, he was great at navigating the parks and making the holiday great for everyone.
Accomodation was all nicely picked as I had a good night sleep every night which is much needed for an action packed thrill seeking itinerary, the group size was spot on as there was 8 of us all together and everyone got to know eachother and some of us have been to theme parks together since the trip.
Every park had something different to offer, phantasialand for the super immersive lands intertwined with world class rollercoasters, efteling for the charm and enchanted feel to the place and the best dark rides I've ever experienced and each park is amazing and does something different so no day felt the same at all.
Each park has some amazing rollercoasters my top 15 list has completely changed since going on this holiday.
Overall I don't regret a single penny I spent on this holiday as a theme park and coaster enthusiast I can highly recommend this to anyone, you will experience some world class attractions and make some like minded friends along the way.
Rise to the top and enjoy the experince
I rarely come to trustpilot to rate companies, but in this case i think i must. Coasterbreaks is a small independent tour company who do small group tours to theme parks. When I first looked at the company i was not sure it was for me, but eventually decided to give them a try. I was worried that I may not fit in with the group, that was instantly dismissed from my mind when I met up with Sam and the rest of the group.
The plan for the tour was 7 parks across Belgium/Germany/Netherlands and they delivered what it said on the website. At each park Sam was actively checking wait times and his extensive knowledge of the parks to ensure we minimised queues and maximised ride time. If it was not for his knowledge, we could of stood in a queue for hours, instead we queued later for less than an hour. Each day Sam would have a list of the must do rides, but then the group would decide on what to re-ride etc which was great. For the coaster credit trackers he even adjusted the order to ensure milestone rides were the best available in the park.
This is not a restful holiday and you are in the parks form opening to closing. But that exactly what I wanted.
But the main reason i wanted to write here is not because coaster breaks and Sam delivered what they said they would. But because of the way any issues where handled with professionalism and lack of fuss. Its this that sets them aside from other tour companies I have used.
11/10, cannot recommend highly enough
Just returned home from a Belgium/Germany/Netherlands tour. I’ve had the absolute best time, and I cannot rate Coasterbreaks highly enough.
Sam Morris, our tour guide, ensured we moved around each park efficiently enough to make every single ride we wanted to do, and quite often we had enough time left over to go back on stuff, even after completing what was on offer. Our stays at hotels were smooth and comfortable, and we were easily able to check in and out, eat enough, and relax after a full-on day. He was a very sensible and safe driver, and despite not usually being happy to be driven, I found myself completely at ease. Communication was on point, with an information email prior to the trip giving me literally everything I could have wanted to know, and daily texts ensuring we left on time.
This tour company made it accessible for me to go international for theme parks for the first time, and I’ve made such amazing memories. I’ll be looking forward to booking another tour in the future!
An Amazing Break for Anyone Interested in Theme Parks
I went on my first Coaster Breaks tour to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany recently.
The booking process was easy and any questions were answered quickly which I really appreciated.
All the logistics were taken care of so I did not have to worry about it. This includes organising park tickets, hotel logistics, travel between parks, and getting through passport control.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the parks. This includes when rides tend to get busy, how to most effectively use fast track passes, times of shows, the nearest location of key facilities like toilets and ATMs, etc.
There's flexibility on what you want to do at the park. You can lap a coaster if you want or stick with the group. This is a nice touch that helps personalise the experience.
There's no pressure to go on any ride you don't want to. If you don't want to get wet, or don't want to ride a particularly rough coaster, you don't have to.
There was a plan for each park. These are well thought out and it helped maximise our day. They also know how to deal with unexpected events. For example, two parks were unexpectedly busy during my tour and a top attraction broke down in one interfering with our tour. However, the tour guide understood how to effectively use fast passes to recover time lost.
I would recommend bringing multiple bottles of water to the parks. Some parks are quite expensive so it's a way to save money and also stay well hydrated during this intense holiday.
Warning, this is not a holiday for sleeping in. Also, there is a significant amount of walking (some of the parks are very large and others are hilly with lots of stairs).
You will likely be with strangers for the trip but you quickly bond over your shared interest in theme parks. The people I attended with started out as complete strangers but they've now become my friends.
It was an amazing trip and I highly recommend it. I liked it so much that I've already booked another tour!
Would definitely return
I was on the 24th May tour, and had a great time.
For years I’d seen pictures, vlogs and everything in between of some of these parks and always aspired to go.
Booking through Coaster Breaks takes the stress out of it all, as the travel, hotels etc, is taken care of.
With a guide as knowledgable as Sam clearly was for us, it helped make sure we got the most of every park we went to.
Multiple highlights, and a great group we went with too, make this a week to remember for sure.
The minibus was comfortable, no issues with leg room, baring in mind one of the group was well over 6 feet tall!
Hotels do their job. You’re there to sleep, and have breakfast. They’re nothing luxury but for the amount of time you’re there; they don’t need to be. But they’re comfortable enough to sleep and eat in definitely.
Evening meals are guided by what the group fancy, and most of the time these range from fast food, to a sit down meal somewhere.
Wouldn’t hesitate to book this again, as it’s great going with like minded group, all excited.
Little tip, wear comfortable shoes. We walked over 50 miles in the week; and that’s the norm!
The Best Way to See European Theme Parks
Coaster Breaks is an excellent company that definitely provides one of the best ways to see some of Europe's finest theme parks.
The vibe the tour gives is very casual, like a roadtrip with friends. Piling in a van and trekking across Europe, you'll get a great chance to meet some new peoole and share in some unforgettable experiences. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about the parks and knew how to get us the most out of every park we visited.
The parks chosen to visit were a good selection and all offered a wide variety of experiences, ranging from Roller Coasters to Dark Rides and everything in between. The tour is clearly more advertised to Coaster Enthusiasts, but general Theme Park Fans will also find lots to love about one of these trips. So long as you enjoy riding coasters you'll definitely have a lot of fun on the tour.
The hotels were all well picked too, nothing extravagant but all still comfortable, though you'll not be spending much time in them. These are fast-paced, whirlwind tours so don't expect much downtime (though nothing's stopping you from taking breaks at the park and meeting back up with the group if you need a sit-down). Be ready to be on your feet most of the day and for some early starts, this certainly isn't a leisurely tour.
After-park meals can range from fast food while on the road between hotels to nicer sit-down dinners, all depending on what the group wants to do.
The trip was well-organized and almost everything went pretty smoothly: My only hiccup during the process was selecting the private room upgrade and accidentally getting put on the shared room option. I wasn't charged for it, so it wasn't too big a deal for me, but if you're banking on this option make sure you check your receipt to see if you paid for it or not. Other than this, everything went as planned and despite the casual feeling of the trip still felt well organized.
Overall, this is a great trip for Coaster Enthusiasts or Theme Park Fans looking to tour some great parks. It takes the hassle out of doing the planning yourself and sharing the experience with others definitely enhances it.
Amazing tour with an excellent tour guide
I did the Germany, Netherlands and Belgium tour and it was absolutely brilliant!!! This is the best money I have ever spent on a holiday, such a great way of visiting lots of parks in a week, Marcus our tour guide also has a wealth of knowledge and information on the parks and he knew how to maximise our time there and which rides to go to first etc. Marcus also made it personable by coming around the parks with us and getting to know the group. I cannot recommend these tours enough and will definitely look at booking a different tour again!
Perfect way to access theme parks
Having recently come back from 8 theme parks in 8 days on the Belgium/Germany/Netherlands tour with Coaster Breaks, I cannot recommend booking a tour enough. I booked the tour as a slightly nervous solo traveller and coaster enthusiast who wanted to go away and do something different and experience parks outside the UK for the first time. Put simply, it was the most perfect week, amazing theme parks and rollercoasters, amazing people and such an easy, fun and enjoyable way of accessing theme parks that without Coaster Breaks would have been much more of a challenge to visit.
The tour guide Marcus absolutely made the week, the communication before the tour was brilliant, going above and beyond to resolve some issues that could've meant the tour being cancelled. During the tour he was very personable and got to know everyone, he spent the time to actually guide the group around the parks, doing his best to fit in as many rides as possible and clearly always wanting the best for the group. As well, he was so knowledgeable about the parks and the industry, always sharing fun facts, stories and information. His girlfriend Gabby was also on this tour and she was equally brilliant throughout and a bonus tour guide who helped make the tour so so so good.
When it came to the actual travel and hotels, everything was planned, arranged and booked and made so easy for the group. It takes the stress out of organising a holiday because you pay a reasonable price for the tour, turn up and enjoy yourself, Coaster Breaks sort the rest. The only cost throughout the week was lunch/dinner and any merchandise everything else was covered.
The tour was the PERFECT way to access theme parks, whilst also getting out the UK and meeting like minded people. If you're reading these reviews thinking of booking a tour I cannot recommend it enough, it really was the best week. I will absolutely be booking onto another tour for later this year or next year.
A wonderful experience for any enthusiast
I cannot recommend this service enough! Me and my friends took the Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany tour and we had an absolute blast! I had never been outside the U.S. before, so traveling to European parks was a daunting task, and seemed out of reach. But with Coaster Breaks, I got to experience places I never thought I would ever be able to. Sam was an amazing tour guide as well, incredibly knowledgeable about the parks and rides, and was able to get us on everything that we wanted to and made the trip a smooth and relaxing experience. I must also mention that the price we paid was very reasonable, and the value I got out of this trip is beyond words. If you have any desire to visit parks around Europe, then I would highly recommend Coaster Breaks, they're the way to go!
A coaster enthusiasts dream
If you love coasters want to experience the time of your life then I would highly reccomend. Marcus is great and will make sure you get the most out of your trip. I'll be surely booking up again.
Coaster enthusiast must!
One of the best holidays I could ask for! 7 enthusiasts 7 theme parks 7 days (or more dependant on what trip you go for) and a stress free environment from a great tour guide Marcus that just wants the best for your trip and experience.
Great price
Will 100% be booking more trips when money allows!
A week of rollercoasters!
If a week of rollercoasters sounds like a great idea to you then you need to book a coaster breaks trip.
Marcus the tour guide will take the stress away of booking tickets, accommodation and transport yourself and with his knowledge of the parks will make sure you get on all the rollercoasters and still leave you with enough time to enjoy other attractions within the parks including water rides, dark rides and flat rides etc
Everyone in our group was a solo traveller but we all got on immediately due to our hobby of rollercoasters and theme parks and would meet in the bar each night for a chat and a few laughs
I will be definitely be booking another trip in the future!
This is the ultimate trip for coaster fans.
This is the ultimate trip for coaster enthusiast, especially if you have only experienced the usual parks in the UK and want to expand your coaster experience. Travelling to 7 parks in 7 days throughout Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands without the hassle or worry of getting to the parks, where to stay or even what rides to queue for first makes this a super stress-free experience. But let me start at the beginning.
I decided to take the plunge and booked the tour on my own (travelling solo). Marcus gave me a call, answered any of my questions / concerns and took a deposit to secure my place. The balance was due a month before the tour and it was easy to settle the balance when the time came (or beforehand). All arrangements were made via telephone, email and it was super easy to sort out, get booked up and prepared.
The tour starting point was at the Brussels Airport, however, Marcus offers a free lift to the Airport from the UK, being picked up at Ashford International Station on Sunday morning going to France via LeShuttle. A quick text the night before from Marcus confirmed the details, and the group first met at the station and hopped into the Ford Tourneo.
Marcus is very personable and makes sure everyone is introduced to everyone else as it can be awkward meeting new people for the first time. It’s ok we all have theme parks and rollercoasters in common so that makes conversations easy. The Tourneo is spacious no matter where you sat (our tour was full of 6ft+ people) really comfortable ride you just hop on and forget about driving for the rest of the trip.
We stopped at a hotel at Brussels Airport, where a one more member of the tour joined us. We were all in place and ready for the rollercoaster trip of a lifetime.
The tour itself.
Marcus created a WhatsApp group for the tour and added (with permission) everyone who was in the tour. This made communication within the group super easy and sharing of information, photos very easy. The night before he would post two times, a “I’ll be at breakfast time” and a “We need to be at the van time”, so for instance it might be 7.45am breakfast, 8.30am leave.
This is not a holiday for lie-ins, we were there to visit theme parks and ride rollercoasters. Getting to the parks for opening was critical to ensure maximum ride times. Our group was great, everyone managed to get to van in time for leaving, with no-one being late.
Generally, the day went like this.
Arrive at park for opening, sometimes a bit before opening but as a rule we would be at the park for “rope drop” / “gates opening”. As a group we deferred to Marcus to guide us around the park. At this point I will say Marcus’s knowledge of the parks (and rides) ensured we all got the maximum number of rides within the day. The first few hours, we packed in the rides, with very little in queue times moving around the park as a group.
It’s hard to explain, you arrive at a park, you see the big shiny giga coaster that everyone is running to, yet, we’re off to ride a wild mouse ride. Then we’re off to a launch coaster, then a water ride, then eventually we head back to the big shiny giga-coaster. Honestly, trust the process and believe in tour guides knowledge of the park. He knows the giga coaster will have a 1-hour queue at the start of the day which will die down to 10/20mins, whilst the wild mouse coaster is largely ignored yet has the worse throughput (so later in the day it has 1hr+ queues).
The first few of hours on the tour are the most intense in terms of getting around the park and getting on all the (good) rides. Now wasn’t the time to stop for a bite to eat or take lots of photos. You’ll have plenty of time later in the day for them activities. One tip thou’ make sure you have some drink on you. (Bottled water, whatever) and if you’re are the peckish sort bring snacks.
When it came to Lunch, Marcus knows the parks and can make recommendations on where to go and what food is good in the park (and what to avoid).
Can you go off on your own? Or with friends? Sure, you could, but you will be missing out on the best part of the tour, Marcus’s park experience. Generally, after smashing the first few hours, there is opportunity to go off and re-ride rides you like, it’s more fun as a group and that’s pretty much what happened on my tour.
The days are long, and we stayed at the parks until the last rides. Unlike UK parks, some parks stayed open until 8pm, 10pm so it is a long day. At the end of the day, we would hop back in the Tourneo Marcus would take us to somewhere to eat. Probably a McDonalds, or KFC or similar outlet. Then drive to the next hotel, a quick drink in the bar (maybe), update on the times for the morning (get breakfast, get out) and then sleep to start it all over again tomorrow.
Would I go again? in a heartbeat, this has been the best theme park holidays I've ever taken!
You like rollercoasters? Book it.
Best Holiday Ever!
I went on the Belgium, Germany and Netherlands tour recently and I've got to say it was the best holiday I've ever been on. I've been on coaster trips (to one or two parks) before but with a large group and the idea of a small group of 8 sounded ideal, and it was ideal - we had a great group and got to know everybody in the group easily.
Marcus organised everything so all we had to take care of was transport to the starting point, and transport home from the finishing point, plus lunch/evening meals and buying merch.
Travel was in a Ford Torneo 9 seater, all the seats had decent leg room and USB sockets nearby, even the back middle seat wasn't cramped. Marcus encouraged us to change seating arrangements each trip so that we all get to know each other, which was a great idea.
It wasn't just a coaster trip, we went on plenty of other rides - rapids, log flumes, dark rides, spinning rides etc. The one thing you do need to be prepared for is the amount of walking you'll be doing - over the 7 parks we walked 60 miles.
This was the best holiday I've ever had, and I'm definitely booking another tour (South Germany/France) next year.
