The service in store was great, given time to look store products, not pressured. Listened to my likes dislikes preferences and helped to accommodate.
Day of fitting, arrived on time.
Only disappointment was slight damage to internal door beading and external door frame. However, both these issues were dealt with swiftly and rectified next day.

New doors on a freezing day
I live on an island and Clyde Windows were happy to visit and provide me with a free quote with no obligation. Following acceptance of the quote they agreed an installation date which turned out to be a particularly cold day. Despite this they replaced my front door and patio doors quickly and efficiently. They were very friendly and professional and we were delighted with the end result. Definitely recommended.

First class experience with Clyde Windows
Firstly, Jack Lynes the Construction Surveyor provided us with a very detailed proposal which included everything we had asked for in our project, which was to remove an old conservatory (29 years old) and replace it with a Sunroom with an Ultraroof. Jack was very quick to respond to any queries we had throughout the process. Secondly, Clyde Windows organised the professionals needed to obtain the Building Warrant which we required for our project. Thirdly, all of the tradesmen involved in the construction of our Sunroom worked diligently when on site and were all polite and friendly. Finally, the work was done to the highest standard and in the timescale we had been told to expect.

New French windows
All the different people we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Communication was good, people arrived when they said they would and the work was done to a high standard. Outstanding company
Every aspect of the work, from our initial consultation through to completion of our new conservatory roof was exemplary. Absolutely no sales pitches, just sound advice based on our needs. The team who fitted the glass roof were professional, courteous and extremely hard working. Our conservatory has now gone from a room which could only be used for 6 months of the year due to the polycarbonate roof to one which is comfortable even on the coldest of days. Cannot recommend Clyde Windows enough.

Poor customer service
** UPDATE**
Clyde windows attempted to call me once after this review, I was busy and did not answer the unknown number. No email from Clyde windows was sent in an attempt to resolve this matter.
They have referenced that a colleague of theirs was 'offering to pay with their own money' for the thumb turn lock. This is the first time I've heard of this offer?
My complaint does not reference the actual fitting of the door- there have been no issues there. My complaint is regarding the handling of the issue I raised after the door was fitted. I wrote this complaint after the disappointing attempt Clyde windows made to 'resolve' the issue. Their resolution was for me to pay an additional £30 to have the thumb turn I originally requested.
In terms of recorded phone calls, there was a single phone call from Clyde windows for payment after the door after it had been fitted. After this call I raised my complaint. I do not believe in withholding payment as a service was performed and largely was exactly to standard. This complaint is about the poor complaint management after the fitting and after we had paid the final balance. There's nothing more insulting than raising a complaint to then be met with hyperbolic statements to diminish any chance of a potential mistake from the service provider.
I'm happy to discuss this further, but you will need to give me more than just one, unannounced, phone call.
Nothing in this complaint was defamatory and trust pilot have reviewed and approved this complaint.

Really disappointed in the customer relations. I didn’t get the door I had requested. I tried to get this error fixed however I was met with comments such as ‘I’ve never made a mistake in 42 years’ and ‘it would have been written down’. My grievance with this sort of language is that it puts all blame on the customer, there has been no acceptance that potentially (and in this case, very likely) it just was not written down at the time and so therefore forgotten about. Nowhere on the contract does it list the thumb drive I had requested and therefore it was ‘my word against theirs’. Unfortunately this company chooses to double down rather than accept a potential mistake on their behalf.
If you are requesting anything specific for your door- voice record your conversations, it’s the only way of proving what you asked for. They will charge you for any changes made after the door is fitted because they will ‘blame’ you.

We are genuinely disappointed to read this review, particularly as we believed the matter had been resolved following our last conversation. To ensure accuracy, we have reviewed all paperwork, including the signed contract, pricing sheets, survey documentation, and recordings of the relevant calls.
None of these documents note a request for a thumb-turn lock. This is not a standard feature and is only supplied when specifically requested, as is reflected in our contracts and pricing. During our recorded call following your complaint, you confirmed that you were happy with the door and installation, and stated that you would consider the additional cost for the lock and get back to us. We received no further contact after that point.
Despite there being no written instruction or contractual obligation for a thumb-turn lock, we still offered to carry out the remedial work and supply the part. In fact, the salesperson involved was prepared to cover the cost personally as a gesture of goodwill — even though the contract confirmed the correct product was supplied.
We have since attempted to contact you again to discuss a resolution, but have received no response. We are always happy to find a fair and reasonable outcome, but we can only do so when we are able to communicate with the customer.

You acknowledged our attempt to contact you by phone but did not return the call, nor respond to our earlier request for further information by email. Communication works both ways, and while we always try to make contact, we also rely on customers engaging with us to bring matters to a conclusion.
We remain confident that your installation was completed to a high standard and entirely in accordance with your signed instructions. This was our second experience
This was our second experience with Clyde windows and again another fantastic experience. We previously had two composite doors fitted and they transformed the look of the house, the after care service was also terrific. After a horrendous experience with…
After a horrendous experience with another company regarding Thermotec roofing panels, i was put in touch with Campbell at Clyde Windows. Campbell was very honest and not pushy. We decided to go ahead with Clyde Windows. The fitters arrived on time, (rob & co) and cracked on. they hit a couple of snags but sorted this out without any fuss or drama. I am very pleased with Clyde Windows and would highly recommend.

10/10… yet again!
I recently used Clyde Windows and Construction for a second time, this time to build an extension on the side of my property. I first used the company in 2019 for new windows and based on my previous experience I knew I could rely on them for this project.
Once again, the service exceeded my expectations. Every member of the team, from the sales staff and surveyor to the ground workers, joiners, and project manager, was professional, courteous, and highly skilled. Communication from my initial enquiry right through to completion was exceptional, and I was always kept informed about progress.
The builders and contractors that attended my property were pleasant, tidy, and reliable. The entire process felt smooth and stress free thanks to their organisation and attention to detail.
I am absolutely delighted with my new space. It is everything I hoped for. A 10/10 job once again.

Promise so much but delivered so…
Promise so much but delivered so little, Had a conservatory built unfortunately it was poorly planned managed and finished and have had to have them back a few times to resolve issues that just simply shouldn’t have happened. Given a paltry £100 for all my troubles and given what I paid is simply a joke. I would also like to point out that I had new windows installed by this company but this was managed by another department and this part of the service was great the building side of the business could learn a lot from them.

Thank you for your review. We’re disappointed to read your comments, as our team worked hard to deliver your bespoke conservatory to the agreed specification and promptly resolved the minor snagging items that can occasionally occur with construction projects of this type.
In addition to the contracted works, we also fitted laminate flooring free of charge as a goodwill gesture — this was not included in your original agreement. Our Director, Robbie, personally stepped in to oversee completion of your project and ensure every aspect was complete to the agreed specification. Unfortunately, when he attempted to clarify the few remaining points needed to close out the job, his professional messages were met with discourteous and at times hostile replies, which ultimately delayed final resolution. Our Female administrators were subject to verbal abuse and abusive language on several occasions also through-out the job.
Despite this, our staff continued to act courteously and professionally at all times. We do not tolerate abusive behaviour towards our team, and we stand by their conduct throughout this process. A goodwill payment was also issued and accepted in recognition of the inconvenience caused.
We’re pleased that you were satisfied with your new windows and note that this reflects the same standards we strive to maintain across all areas of our business.

I had heard good things about this…
I had heard good things about this company .... But on reflection I cancelled an appointment for a surveyor to come and measure up for a quote. This was because the sales manager asked about my "married partner". This is in no way appropriate or relevant to arranging an appointment for a quote and I have heard excuses from window sales folk before about "making sure my husband agrees" or similar before proceeding. Regardless of who within a household contacts a business for a quote, this type of query is never appropriate. It is intrusive, sexist and entirely unacceptable.
I'm posting this publicly so that this company can learn that this type of behaviour is not acceptable.

Hi, if you read my review, the particular quote about "make sure my husband agrees" refers to similar experiences with other window companies in the past. I have correctly quoted you as asking about my married partner. These sorts of questions about marital status, routine or not, are not appropriate, and are not at all routinely asked by traders. There are any number of ways you could otherwise ask about safeguarding. Utility companies manage it.
The guidance you've linked does not advise traders to ask about marital status as a means of safeguarding vulnerable customers. It achieves the opposite of your intention.
It's a pity you feel a two star review is unfair but I suggest you rethink your routine questions. You could simply ask if there is any additional information that you need to be aware of before you visit. I'll be seeking elsewhere for windows.

Thank you for your follow-up. While we appreciate your clarification, we believe it’s unfair to assess our company based on experiences you’ve had with other window firms. The comments you referenced in your review were not made by our team during your call, and we can only be held accountable for our own actions and standards.
Furthermore, we were not interested in your marital status — the question asked was simply whether you were the sole homeowner or if you shared the property with a partner or spouse. A single occupant is classed as a potentially vulnerable person, and by establishing that there were others in the household who could be involved in decision-making, we were able to avoid further safeguarding questions. We take a friendly, conversational approach to make these discussions feel natural, and this is the first time we’ve received negative feedback about it. That said, we will review our scripting and approach internally and also seek input from our regulatory bodies to ensure continued compliance and best practice.
We also want to note that just because certain questions aren’t routinely asked by other traders does not make them inappropriate. Many companies operate without the same accreditations or regulatory oversight that we adhere to. Our procedures are based on guidance from Trading Standards and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and are in place to ensure consumer protection and compliance with our Vulnerable Persons Policy.
How other traders choose to operate is not for us to comment on — we focus on maintaining high professional standards and following best-practice guidelines for the benefit and protection of all our customers.

Just finished installing new widows…
Just finished installing new widows ..Was happy with the cost ..8..Windows fitted over a 3day period ..No hassle turned up on time ..Was extremely happy with the end result ..Clyde was the first company I contacted ..Through an advertisement ..Guy came out very thorough..Gave me the total cost ..Contacted two other companies ..chose Clyde .. ..Frank ….Kelvindale ..

Professional job, well-executed.
I was told initially to expect fitters between 8 & 9am, so was up early to prepare, but had to phone after 9 to enquire why no one had turned up. The fitters arrived around 10.30. I think company should have contacted me to explain reason for delay.
However I have no issues with quality of the work or the efficient fitters who did a very professional job and tidied up afterwards.
I am very pleased with the result.

We completely understand your frustration regarding the later start on the morning of your installation. Our arrival times are always given as a best estimate rather than a fixed appointment, as they can occasionally be affected by circumstances beyond our control. In this instance, the fitting team were slightly delayed completing another installation the previous day due to poor weather conditions. Rather than leave that customer with unfinished work — or cancel your installation altogether — we made the decision to send the team back to complete that small section first thing in the morning.
We absolutely acknowledge that we should have contacted you to explain the situation, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused. It was a particularly busy morning, and our intention was simply to ensure that both customers’ work was completed to the high standard we set for ourselves. By the time you called, we expected the team to already be on their way to you, and we’re glad they were still able to complete your installation to a high standard that same day.
We’ve completed a few installations for you over the years, and it’s great to know that you continue to be happy with our work. We do hope that the overall experience, and the finished result, will encourage you to consider us again in the future.
