Colourfence are a shocking business to deal with and it all started so well.
Early December 2025. Salesman Colin S came out with his trainee Matt C and after a one hour measure up and consultation about various options, and with detailed training provided to trainee we were given a price with various December discounts applied and asked to sign the quotation which we duly did.
We asked for an email copy which duly arrived.
We accepted the quote and asked for bank details of where to pay the deposit
After chasing the following day, received an email saying that due to poor internet (not mentioned whilst on site) the quote was wrong and provided a new quote, saying sign this if you want to go ahead.
This quote was three times more expensive than the agreed price, it had no reference number and no detail, just a single price.
Over the next two weeks, we insisted that according to UK contract law, we already had an agreed contract and expected it to be honoured.
Vague responses received.
Eventually complained via official complaints channel and had to chase acknowledgement of receipt. Karen G replied saying was being dealt with, but no response received
Chased a further three times before Operations Director Gareth T replied saying he would reply by following Monday 5pm.
This date came and went ...and despite chasing ...the silence continues.
My advice .. Avoid Colourfence at all costs!!
Steer Clear
We arranged for a rep to come round measure up and give us a quote, the quote he gave us was 278, we were surprised it was so low and told him to go ahead, also telling him we had been quoted 500 for a wooden one, it was only for 1 panel and a gate, he took a deposit via debit card and when my Husband got the confirmation on his phone he opened it to see that 1439 had been taken, the rep said yes thats right, we then asked him for the total which would have been nearer 3000 and we only had 2000 available to spend so wouldn't have been able to afford that anyway, so immediately asked for a refund, he called the office and then said we had misheard him, funny that as we both heard the same thing, it then took a week of my Husband calling them everyday for a refund to be issued, the reps name was Mike and we believe thats how he does business purposely decieving customers about the true price, definately would not reccomend this company we will go with the wooden one instead.

I will leave the reader to draw their own conclusions about the level of service received. Our biggest regret was not heeding the existing negative online reviews; we were reassured these related to previous contracts the company claimed they no longer used. The company has changed its name from ClimarFit LTD to Easy Garden Living LTD, also go by the name of Climar and Colour Fence. It appears there is more than one review entry for this company, worth checking out all the others.
Following an extremely disappointing initial installation, two further installations were required. What should have been a straightforward 1 day project stretched into 9 stressful months to finally fix the various issues. During this time correspondence was ignored, and I experienced intimidation simply for asking for the undamaged product we signed up and paid for.
22 Nov 2024 - Colour Fence Rep attended our property, and gave us a quote for our 5 metre x 2 metre fencing with gate for £4243.79. We paid the £2121.89 the same day as we liked the product.
10 January 2025 - Installation was carried out by two brothers, fencing parts were missing, damaged and scratched. The fencing wasn’t level nor spaced correctly - see images.
12 January 2025 - Emailed ColourFence aka Climar highlighting the damaged, uneven and scratched panels, which resulted in Elvis (Regional Manager) visiting on 15 January 2025 in which he highlighted issues we’d not previously noticed.
29 January 2025 - Only some of the damaged panels were replaced and the huge deep scratch on the gate was touched up with using a paint pot.
10 February 2025 - Recorded delivery letter sent to Climarfit following the second failed attempt to install undamaged/scratched fencing/gate.
5 March 2025 - In person intimidation by Elvis (over 6 foot tall) who stood on our doorstep and stated that we could either have the fences / gate touched up or Colour Fence would take the fencing away! We simply wanted the undamaged fencing / gate that we expected to get as customers. No customer should be intimidated in this way!
6 May 2025 - Another Regional Manager attended our home to look at the fencing/gate. He didn’t have any of the previous photos of the damaged fencing panels / gate. Took note of the fencing / gate that needed replacing.
21 May 2025 - Colour Fence agreed to replace the damaged/scratched 4 x ColourRail Panels / 4 x Square Posts / 1 x ColourRail Gate with a 6-8 week wait.
18 July 2025 - A different installation team attended, removed the previous Fence Panels / posts / Gate. The gate has swing back hinges, these didn’t work and they left the slabs on entrance to gateway uneven and rocking.
5 Sept 2025 - Recontacted ClimarFit as gate and slabs still not fixed.
23 Sept 2025 - Invoice sent for remainder of works, gate and slab still not fixed.
If only we had heeded the negative online reviews, we would have saved ourselves 9 months of ongoing issues.
Great product, poor supply systems
Great product, lovely staff throughout but dire supply systems and first gates had huge gaps.
I had three deliveries, from separate depots, before the contractors arrived to fit the gates and still sections were missing. Fitting postponed. When the gates were fitted, there were unacceptable gaps between posts and in the centre (total 10cm in 2.1m space) to the extent that anyone walking by could see in to my yard and dining room, especially at night. Problem occurred because gates supplied with two-way hinges when I specified inward opening only.
After several emails and phone calls, an inspection was made and agreement reached that gates would be replaced.
The second set of gates, fitted 17/12/2025, look terrific and fully meet my expectations.
Placed order for rail fence with hoops
Placed order for rail fence with hoops. Would not return calls for information regarding installation. Eventually fence arrived but wrong fence installed.
Spoke to Manager could not give me a proper answer.
As I had not paid in full they are now threatening me with debt collector, to pay for the wrong fence being installed. They have stated that they will give me a free estimate for rails & hoops in the New Year!

Dreadful customer service!
Let’s pray that the product is a million times better than customer service. I had to chase their sales people to arrange for a quote (who has to chase sales people?)! The installers were great but discovered that someone had adjusted the measurements for my gate so they had to “fast-track” the order for that (haha). I have chased and chased customer service for a new installation date but nothing yet. I do not recommend this company on the basis of their service. As I said at the start of this review, I am desperately hoping that the product is worth the lack of attention they give their customers (who pay a lot!).
Terrible Service
Ordered our fence in April 2025 having had a representative visit our property to discuss, measure up and quote. We agreed to go ahead. Fence installed end of July. The installers were great however there were not enough materials. They contacted their manager Jon whilst they were here to discuss and I also spoke with him. It turned out that the representative hadn’t measured it correctly back in April (our quote/invoice had no measurements on it but we assumed that as he had measured it himself it would be correct). Jon was brilliant helping us to get it sorted out, even when the directors wanted to charge us for the fence to be completed! Last week (9th September) we had 2 small metal pieces of fence and a post delivered which we knew nothing about. I have contacted ColourFence by email and phone to find out what is happening but have received no updates. The materials delivered are nowhere near enough to finish the fence. Considering we ordered in April and our fence is still not complete we do not consider this even close to acceptable. Aside from the installers and Jon, the whole experience has been awful for which I give my 1 star. The fence itself would look nice it it was completed but I would steer clear of this Company if you don’t need extreme stress and disruption!
Fantastic Installation vs Poor Head Office Comms
Getting a ColourFence really is an experience of two halves.
The fitters are fantastic. Polite, communicative, receptive to questions, exceptionally hard workers. The final product is fantastic, we are really pleased. We had Al and Leon from Midland Fencing and we could not fault their professionalism, nor the end result to achieved.
However, the site surveyor essentially made many false promises. Looking back, we feel that if we’d asked him if the fence could fly he would have said yes to get a sale. And, when issues occur, it’s like he disappears off the face of the planet. Maybe magic is involved after all.
Head office communication is woefully poor, bordering on rude. Head office staff should definitely take a lesson from the installers in customer service. The time scales are sketchy, the delivery schedules for goods poor, and I’m not sure whether we’d have got the waste taken away (as paid for) without constant badgering.
It’s such a shame, because the guys doing the installations are brilliant. The finished product is brilliant. But, would I want to deal with them again: absolutely not. Life is too precious to spend your time arguing with rude people about fences.

Poor Customer Service
Got a fence in 2018, and I’ve been chasing a gate repair since Feb of 2024 as it blew clean off the wall with high wind. Most recently (29/04/2025) was told someone would phone me back in 5 mins.
Lovely product and service
Had my new fence fitted today and already have compliments from my neighbours and some already looking to get their own fences updated. John from sales was amazing, explained all the details and followed up with information and fit dates. Tom and Craig from the Gloucester fitting team were just amazing and true professionals. Got the job done in 1.5 days and explained what was done and how to maintain it. Neat and clean.
Product excellent. Fitters excellent. Customer service has a lot of room for improvement.
Rep came to our house on 26/04/24 & after discussing our needs, we felt confident to place an order for fencing for our front garden. Estimated installation time was 10wks. Was told it was normally around 6wks but they are so busy. Heard nothing so on getting closer to 10wks I made contact with rep & was told estimated date was Sep. This would make it about 19wks. Totally unacceptable. Date came back as 12th Aug. Date got closer & again I had heard nothing. I made contact with company and was told that 12th wasn't going to happen. I threatened to pull out of the contract. Was offered the 19th Aug to which I accepted. Fitters Tom & Steve drove from Southampton to us in Surrey to fit our fence. They were so respectful, polite and worked so well to a high standard. (Hope you enjoyed the bacon sandwiches and cakes. You deserved it). They left our property very clean and tidy. There was only one problem. We had ordered brown panels with cream trellis. Their order had stated brown trellis. They sorted the problem and another date had to be set to rectify the problem on 30th Aug. I received a telephone call from a gentlemen called Elvis. Hope I don't offend but I think Elvis is classed as a supervisor of the fitters. He was so polite & efficient. Elvis & Steve turned up on the 30th as planned, even phoning in the morning to confirm approximate arrival time and they completed the job again to the same high standard. Total time from ordering to finished product, 18wks.
We am torn. We would love to have some of our rear garden fence replaced using this company as we love the product and the standard of the fitters but so disappointed with the customer service.

Awful customer service - didn't turn up
Was keen to have colourfence put around my garden. I made multiple requests to have a quote, once someone finally replied to me we organised a date and time for someone to come and measure for a quote, they never turned up and are now not replying to my messages and phone calls. Really disappointed.
