Used for a year on & off. Some websites will not load using it. However it is a useful tool as and when required. Speed is reduced when using it but not to the detriment of functionality. There are of course numerous other VPNs available. Personally I would not use the free ones as their credentials are not that transparent.

Setting up this VPN was a nightmare. The instructions were unclear, even after all that, it still didn’t work properly. Definitely not user-friendly.

Canceled, but money gone anyway
I did a 3 day free trail to try, I canceled, but the amount was taken off my bank account anyway, so I'm stuck to Clear VPN for a year. Bad handling!

I’ve been a loyal user of SetApp /…
I’ve been a loyal user of SetApp / MacPaw products for many years and have had great success with them. However, due to very recent financial laws @05/2024, using ClearVPN has led to some unexpected issues. It appears that some VPN traffic is being routed through Ukraine, which has caused my financial accounts, including Robinhood, to flag and ultimately freeze.
While I don’t believe this is the fault of MacPaw, SetApp, or ClearVPN, it highlights a significant need for them to reconsider their data routing and provide alternative server options. Currently, my regular financial and retirement accounts are completely frozen.
I’m in Europe, far from Ukraine, and used public Wi-Fi with ClearVPN for security. Unfortunately, this resulted in alarming emails from Robinhood about suspicious activity from Ukraine, leading to this stressful situation.
I hope that MacPaw, SetApp, and ClearVPN can assist in resolving this issue quickly. I’ve submitted helpdesk tickets and am eagerly awaiting a response. Any assistance while I’m on vacation would be greatly appreciated.

I have not used ClearVPM much as yet…
I have not used ClearVPM much as yet but I did receive a helpful reply from a real person on the helpline which resolved and initial log in problem and also some advice on when it is particularly useful to use VPN. As a recent aside I heard from a techie I know who told me how visible the unsecured networks are in hotels and such like - that is if you have the know-how.
