Total misnomer for company name

In terms of names for a company, I'm not sure there has ever been a greater misnomer. They will entice you with lower entry rates and give very little notice when these rates are about to expire. My electric bill more than tripled for the supplier charge this month from .1139/kw hr to .3899/ kw hr. This is .12 /kw hr higher than what was quoted it was going to be 2 days before billing cycle began. My advice is to stay away, find another supplier who will be more transparent as Clearview is anything but.

Clearview should be classified as a criminal.

After the second very large electric bill I noticed in a row I started investigating on why. Found I some time ago joined Clearview as my provider. Compared the current rates of Ameren at roughly 10¢ kWh compared to Clearview at a 19¢ a kWh. Called Clearview to try and understand how they are my provider to find they said my spouse had signed for it, I'm not married and am the sole person on my electric plan. They have been over charging me now for four years. When questioned the said they would have a manager contact me which has yet to happen after a few days, open mail three days later to find somehow now after four years at the end of this month they won't be able to be my provider, pretty funny since it's been fine for the four year the have illegally been charging me or even been my provider. Hope this is really helpful for some and to all check on the elderly that may not ever even notice......

I am writing in about rep. Mazen. He was so helpful and kind. Making my situation with my account right. I was so upset but he talked me thru it. I ended up with a smile on my face.

Clearview Energy are nothing but con artists. Hooked me in with a low rate and then after my contract was up proceeded to charge me .16 KWH as opposed to .093. Almost double the going rate . I feel as though I've been violated as I was unaware of the gross overcharge for many months .

Did not renew my one year fixed contract which was confirmed - they still sent me invoice for USD 50 early termination fee. Wasting time arguing a false invoice is very suboptimal and not a business you would recommend!

Walk away

Our 1-year contract expired sometime in the winter (when electricity consumption is low for us - we have gas for heat). Come summer, we got ridiculously high bills and it was then that I noticed Clearview had doubled my rates. I also called them and was told they sent a notice. I never received any notice, nor was I informed that my rate would increase. They are criminals. Walk away.

Shady sales practices

I agree with others, stay away from this company and never sign up for a 6 month fixed rate. They won't remind you that the 6 month fixed rate period is about to end (they do send reminders for the 12 month fixed rate program) and when they switch you to a variable rate, their variable "market" rate is double what the local utility will charge you. They employ several shady sales practices that are designed to gouge clients, don't get tempted by their introductory offers.

Bottom line...stay away from Clearview Energy

Like some of the other reviews, I was snowballed by Clearview. I signed us up for 18 mos at a .0749 rate, which was lower than our area provider. When the 19th month hit, that rate went up almost 50% to .1059. And, as someone else mentioned, when I logged onto my Clearview account, sure as sh!t, it still had my .0749 rate plan listed, as if I was paying that. I am madder at myself for not being on top of it, but to take advantage of people like that...there has to be a moral standard somewhere. Bottom line...stay away from Clearview Energy.

The company employs marketers who use robocall tactics from spoofed numbers and are deceptive about who they are when they call you (they tried to say they were my current supplier until I pressed the issue and got their real identity). I even have a confirmation number for the phone call and they were going to switch my supplier to their company and they still deny accountability.

Signed up for a one year term at a reasonable rate, as soon as the term was done their rates apparently skyrocketed to more than double what I was being charged and what comed charges. Their scam worked because I had my electric bill on autopay, while their website portal continues to show my original contract rate and says I'm still under contract when I log in. Insane that this is legal, I will be filing complaints wherever I can.

STAY AWAY!!!

signed up for 9.45 c/kwhr. when it expired they did send a letter saying that now it is variable at 10.79c/kwhr. I didn't notice word variable so i stayed with them. Then it went to 12.89 and then to 17.89. This is an outright fraud! There is no rates like this in MA. Now I am trying to get out back to Nat Grid. Having problems doing so
STAY AWAY!!!

When I signed up for my current electric plan, I was promised (and still have the brochure): "Sign up for Clearview Energy and get a Hulu Limited Commercials plan for as long as you remain a Clearview Energy custmer."
A year later, Clearview no longer has a Hulu plan and they don't answer emails / questions sent online.

Aggressive solicitors that ignore no soliciting signs. The solicitors from Clearview Energy come around every 6 months and
bang loudly on peoples doors (like the police would) and startle me every time.
They say "Electric" (they are dressed deceptively like electric company workers).
They then say "we need to see your electric bill," take a picture of your electric bill and switch people
to a much more expensive plan (google BBB and Clearview Energy and read the reviews)
It seems that this is deceptive marketing if not outright fraud and it appears to affect the elderly and over compliant types (i.e., the vulnerable). I would not recommend to anyone
