Honest and Transparent

I have to give respect to the ClearlyFiltered company policies and their customer service.

I ordered this pitcher after watching multiple reviews, and I received it in a couple of days. After receiving the pitcher, I primed it as instructed; however, I had a taste issue, the water had a dry aftertaste. I contacted the customer support, and they replied within 24hr gave me further instructions, which I did.
It helped, but didn't fix my issue, and I found out that I have small particles in my water, so I contacted customer service again, and they said that these particles are due to hard water in your area. To be honest, I didn't believe them and asked to return my pitcher, and was ordering another one from them as I believed that I may have a faulty item.
To my surprise, I was sent an email saying that since you are not satisfied with the pitcher, we have issued you a full refund, and we do not accept returns for any item that has been used.
I was very surprised because most of the water filter companies have very bad reputations when it comes to polices and returns. Not ClearlyFiltered though, they lived to their word, and with no questions asked, I received my refund.
As for the pitcher, the aftertaste vanished after priming the filter and filling the pitcher multiple times, and the particles are hard water, as they said. I compared a friend's pitcher with mine, and his had particles as well.
I felt I owed them at least a review to thank them for being transparent and honest.
I hope this review helps other customers to feel safe buying and dealing with this company.

MAJOR pitcher design flaws and rude customer service

Clearly Filtered should stand behind its poorly designed products. I chose Clearly Filtered for its reputation for clean, health-focused water—but their pitcher has serious design flaws.

The top/spout section is permanently sealed (sonically welded), making it impossible to clean internally. Over time, visible buildup developed inside this sealed area that cannot be removed through soaking or standard cleaning. This is NOT user error—it’s a fundamental design limitation. A product intended for drinking water should NOT trap residue—and potentially mold—in areas that cannot be accessed or sanitized.

Customer service is equally disappointing. My concern was never actually addressed clearly. I got their "pitch" and excuses. And I received generic cleaning instructions that completely ignored the sealed chamber issue. I was then told the product was out of warranty and encouraged to buy a new one at a discount.

When I called, I was even told these pitchers are “not meant to last.” Nice.

This kind of response is unacceptable for a premium product—especially one tied to health and safety.
Recommending replacement instead of standing behind a flawed design only reinforces concerns about durability and hygiene. At a minimum, I expected a replacement for the defective component or a meaningful solution—not a sales pitch.

Ridiculous Shipping Fees

Passport Priority Duties and Taxes Paid
5 to 9 business days

Shipping $119.55, Tax $119.59, Duty $9.52 Total $248.66

Seriously ? 250$ in taxes ? Time to keep drinking fluoride I guess - their filters are ridiculously expensive anyway - insulting.

Have been customer several years

Have been customer several years. Previously good filters. Got a bad filter and contacted customer service but they were combative and refused to either replace or credit my account. Being on subscription I had to order new set of filters to replace bad one, but they sent two orders and refused to cancel. They charged my card days ago and had yet to send the order. Bottom line they couldn't care less about satisfying their customer. Also, I like the filters overall but the pitcher is made of very cheap plastic and poorly constructed.

Replacement Filter Frustration

The replacement filter took forever to prep. The bag they give you is useless when the water isn't even filtering through it. Total blockage. I finally screwed the replacement filter on the pitcher and filled the reservoir 3 times because I refused to hold the prep bag forever waiting for water to drip throught it. My filter that came with the pitcher on my initial purchase did not do that. Im glad I found a work around the slow prep time otherwise I was returning it and looking for another water filter brand.

Milky White Water - Not Issuing Credit or RMA

Filters are turning the water a milky white color, and Clearly Filtered Customer Service is not promptly replacing the product or issuing a credit.

These filters cost more than $50 each. Clearly Filtered is very disappointing in their response, and I recommend not using their products because they don't stand behind them when they are defective.

Hoping Clearly Filtered sees this review.

Love the quality of the water and the fact the filters also filter out fluoride. But the pitcher design is not ideal. The spout needs to have a bit of a lip or a better design. It's a big container and pouring small amounts from it is not ideal (i.e. into a small cup). The large spout is great for filling a humidifier quickly but not so great for every day pouring to drink. I would love to see a design fix albeit I already own the current design. Hoping Clearly Filtered sees this review.

Awful Customer Service

Always seem to have to worst experience with their customers service. Had a email come about a subscription I thought I had cancelled and was out of town for a loss in my family, and moved. So they’re sending it to our old home. I contacted USPS and they stated it had not shipped and could not help me, contacted the property I lived at and they cannot do anything because someone lives there, so they would have to send it back. They refused to help
And or refund the package, that I’d have to wait for it to be returned to be refunded for a product I didn’t even get. Awful service!!

Long-term customer: BEWARE

Long-term customer here: DO NOT BUY - the products are cheaply made and will break very easily. They claim to have great support, but you'll end up wasting weeks going back & forth with agents who just send you instructions on how to repair the product because they are unwilling to send you a replacement. It's a waste of time and imo, the worst way to handle customer service because it does nothing for the customer, only buys the company time and intel used to deny warranty claims. They must have been bought & sold by a private equity firm or something, this used to be a good company but they have completely fallen off and I wouldn't give them another penny.

No replacement filters offered

I installed the 3-stage under sink filtration system... but they aren't making replacement filters right now. Customer support team is absolutely terrible. They just respond with the same robotic pre-written message each time ("production delays"). The problem is that these production delays have been going on for months. It feels like they might be going out of business. I would recommend to stay away from investing into a Clearly Filtered system.

Wonderful Products. No complaints.

I've had nothing but great experiences from this brand; their filters work wonderfully and the water truly tastes better than tap in so many ways. The filters also leave minerals in the water - increasing TDS. Common misconception that TDS should be zero. It should not. The minerals in water are necessary for us to intake, and count as TDS. They have third-party testing as well as in-house which is likely the most thorough out of any brands.

I've been with this company Clearly…

I've been with this company Clearly Filtered for the past 7 years and the recent year the filters have lost it's expectancy. Normally a filter would last me half a yr seeing its just me using it. The filter I've received recently only lasted a few weeks. Thats a huge jump. I contacted the company and was issued a replacement but the same thing happened. Worked for a few weeks and almost shutdown. The taste in water the filter isn't the same either. So I looked at reviews to see if its just me as the representative had me feeling, and I see many other customers complaining about the same thing. So my question is to this company, "if you're seeing the reviews, why not find out whats going on with the filters instead of assuming a customer doesn't know how to use the product properly?" Needless to say, I am not buying another filter from this company. I've decided to invest in a Berkey.
Hopefully this company gets this issue straightened out.

When you go to buy there is a warning…

When you go to buy there is a warning that the company "is not responsible for lost or damaged packages" and to buy insurance. This is now how ecommerce has always worked, its part of a growing and silent movement by companies to offload responsibility onto 3rd party insurance companies which are always scams and a nightmare to deal with.

It is YOUR job as a company to make the customer order fulfilled, that means taking responsibility for shipping issues.

Inconsistent Product Quality and Unresponsive Customer Service

My experience with Clearly Filtered has been deeply disappointing due to quality control issues and poor customer service.

Product Quality: Purchased 3 pitcher filters between June 2024-December 2024. Two filters were defective (taking 12+ hours vs. advertised 30 minutes), while one worked perfectly. Since all filters used the same water supply and location, this clearly indicates manufacturing inconsistencies, not environmental factors.

Customer Service: When I contacted them in February 2025 about the defective filters, they completely ignored my email for over 4 months. Only after threatening regulatory action did they respond, providing contradictory explanations and refusing any refund for the $133.84 in defective products.

What They Do Well: When their filters work properly, they do filter effectively in the advertised timeframe.

How They Can Improve:
1. Implement better quality control to ensure consistent manufacturing
2. Respond to customer inquiries promptly
3. Stand behind defective products with reasonable return/refund policies
4. Train customer service to provide accurate, consistent information

I wanted to support their water filtration mission, but the combination of inconsistent products and unresponsive service makes them unreliable. Consider other options.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions, Vikram.
Unfortunately, we could not locate any correspondence from February, however, I am happy to see our team was able to quickly respond to your most recent correspondence.
Some customers experience variations in their filter lifespan because of highly contaminated tap water. This does not mean your filter is defective and is noted on our product pages.
Repeating the priming process should help improve the filtration speed.
If you need further assistance or have any other questions, please reach back out to our team.

More custom tax than product price LOL

The filter are apparently very efficient against fluoride and chemicals! But in the beginning it was a normal TAX border rate for EU like 250 dollars pay 50 in custom taxes! NOW CLEARLY FILTER DECIDER TO MAKE MONEY ON THE CUSTOM TAXES SAYING ITS FOR OUR GOOD, no more custom surprises! LOL their custom and shipping taxes are NOW MORE EXPENSIVE THEN THE PRODUCTS YOU ORDER! I wrote them 5 times telling them never in the human history custom taxes were above a product price ! Very poor customer service! They couldn’t care less! They either answer a stupid automated email or just ignore! Here attached an example of a normal custom tax from DR idriss an American company sending to Spain! See 254 products for 53 custom taxes! Not like you 150 of filters for 175 custom tax going in your pocket!
Solve this!

I like the filters, but

I like the filters, but their shipping policies aren't that great. I won't go into details, as other reviewers report the same issues. I now order the replacement filters from Amazon. I usually receive them in a few days and if there is a problem Amazon has always taken prompt correction procedures. And I usually pay less than if I ordered from the CF website.

Extremely Disappointed

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Performance and Unhelpful Customer Service

I strongly advise against purchasing the Clearly Filtered water filter. From the start, the product failed to perform as expected—our first filter did not effectively filter the water at all. Assuming it was defective, we replaced it with a new filter, only to encounter the exact same issue.

When we reached out to the company, we were surprised to learn that they only offer a 30-day return window. At that point, it had been just about three months since our purchase. Instead of offering a resolution, their response was to send us a list of troubleshooting steps to try. Unfortunately, these steps did not resolve the issue, and no refund or replacement was offered beyond that.

We are now left with a product that does not work and a significant financial loss. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this product or company. Buyers should be aware of the limited return policy and the lack of meaningful customer support.

Thank you for your feedback, Richard. It sounds like your filtration speed was impacted by highly contaminated tap water. We do see some customers experience variations in their filter lifespan because of this and this is noted on our product pages. The tips that our customer service team provided should help with that filtration speed. However, if you need further assistance or have any other questions, please reach back out to our team.

Product Never Arrived – Zero Accountability from Clearly Filtered

I placed an order with Clearly Filtered and never received the product. Despite multiple follow-ups, the company refused to take responsibility, claiming the issue was with the shipping provider. The shipping company initially admitted the package was not delivered, then changed their statement saying it was—but could not provide proof of delivery or a signature.

Clearly Filtered completely distanced themselves from the issue and failed to provide any resolution. I paid for a product I never received, and neither the seller nor the shipper can prove otherwise.

A company that treats its customers this way cannot possibly be trusted to treat our water with the care it claims. I’m actually glad I found this out before relying on their filters. I will never do business with them again.

Terrible product

Terrible product. Design flaws with the pitcher itself, I had to replace the top part twice cause it keeps falling off. Also, filters are inconsistent. One time the water goes through another it doesn’t. Every month we have the same issue. They also claim you should replace it every 3 months but we ended up replacing it once a month, otherwise it takes an entire night to fill the pitcher once. It’s a full time job to filter the water.
