I could give it negative stars if I could. The pre-k teacher had us download class dojo. After a year, they charged us $75!! And I went to the school to see if they were still using it. They said that they stopped using it because it charged people after a year. I wished they would of told us parents this but they didn't know this at first. I was advised to cancel the subscription, which I did, got refunded by the bank and these people went ahead and charged the account again!! They are nothing but thieves who are after your money, they'll take your money, refuse to refund and disappear. Someone needs to take them to court, seriously, beware of these thieves, stay away as much as possible

My old art teacher used this and all it does is build kids down.

My old art teacher used this. It is not what it seems like. One of my classmates had problems with their emotions and they had negative points on their monster. It wasn't even their problem that they couldn't control their emotions properly. When I got a negative point, I went home, crying silently in my room because of just a negative point. This doesn't help children grow, it just teaches them to stay quiet and wonder about their actions. This app makes school feel like a prison in the form of fun characters.

ClassDojo is a failure because it is…

ClassDojo is a failure because it is used it does not go well with ADHD because from my experience I got marked for not sitting down 20 times in a week and every time people got one wrong almost everybody looked same with getting one right and in the 70, s 4-year-olds got a prize for drawing and after that they did it only 50% of the time ClassDojo needs to go also another 10 marks for falling asleep in class because it was the only way for me to help not focus on losing points.

Impossible to cancel, had to charge back through bank. Report to FTC and BBB.

Impossible to cancel. Keeping all your kids memories locked away, they don't ask for consent to take photos of your children at all, and with Epstein list going public and the founders tied to that insanity, (like lifetouch who has decades of all our children's photos) we don't know what they're doing with our kids data with access timeline of their images. I've struggled to cancel and finally decided to go through my bank. Also reported to FTC and BBB. I do not recommend the use of ClassDojo and do not trust doing business with them.

A Mess!

A mess! We had 2 classes with 2 different teachers. They both were kind and seemed to be great tutors! 5-stars for both of them.
My issue is the pricing. Wow!
I've been overcharged and I can't talk to a human being to get a refund! $58.00, twice a week adds up. If the classes were done, the pricing would be fine. The issue is I've paid for about 6 or 7 classes and my son has only had two.

Refund my money-payment not authorized by me

I downloaded the class Dojo app on the seven day free trial in order to assess whether I would like to subscribe. I DID NOT subscribe for the full year! On the 19 February 2026 an amount of R1499 was deducted by them, from my credit card. I did not share my credit card details with them? I wrote to them on 23 February 2026 to request a refund based on the fact that I did not share my credit card details or authorize the transaction. This is a grave concern to me. How did they deduct money from my credit without me sharing my details? They need to indicate to customers how they are accessing this information? It has been 32 hours and I have not received an update on my ticket number 4969860. I need my money refunded immediately. I am a senior citizen and grandparent. On principle due to their unethical approach, I do not want anything to do with this app.

I’m unable to reach anybody

I’m unable to reach anybody. I keep receiving emails about a booking which happened by mistake. I emailed 60 seconds after the mistake was made, and called two minutes after the mistake was made and left a message. I keep making phone calls but no one has ever reached me back and it’s been 48 hours.

We decided to enroll our son in Dojo Tutor and we are very happy and satisfied with the wonderful work Miss Ciara and Ms. Abby are doing. We have seen the progress Luis has made in reading, which was a bit difficult for him since English is his second language. Thank you so much for keeping our son motivated to continue learning to read. Thanks to Shane for always supporting us and keeping an eye on what's happening with Luis.

Things are going very well

Things are going very well. I signed my other daughter up with Kristy on another day. Both of them have 55 minute lessons scheduled each week. Kristy is a great tutor and I love the convenience of online tutoring instead of rushing out the door to make an appointment. I've had a great experience so far. Very easy to reschedule/cancel classes if needed, send messages to the tutor, upload documents (homework), etc. I have been pleased so far.

Refuse to use it, ridiculous how it funnels you in to pay for it. I’m shocked at how the school system picked this route for communication etc.. they are in it for the money

Not willing to refund for wrongful charge!

My child's teacher asked me to sign up for Class Dojo so I can see her class announcements and have a way to communicate with her directly. I signed up assuming this was a free service (because there was no other options but one to select from!!), come to find out I was later charged $69.99, when I asked for a refund an automated response was given to contact Apple! I didn't even get to speak to a live human about my concern. After continuously asking for a refund, automated replies were to contact Apple, (yet another company with automated response) nothing happened and the company just took my money! Terrible experience, even the teacher was not aware they were doing this to the parents. She tried to help but still nothing. Now I get spammed with their tutoring emails, after they ripped me off. TERRIBLE COMPANY!

I just about had it today

I just about had it today. Today was the hay that broke that camel's back. I have been paying dojo plus for over a year. It really didn't bother me. I had a wonderful teacher we found for my daughter Caroline Short. She was awesome until she wasn't. She had so many emergencies. My goodness she would cancel my daughter's classes or she would leave my daughter hanging. Needless to say she was very good. We decided we would give her a second try with my other daughter. Boy was it a huge mistake!!! Day 1, Halloween I think it was. She had an emergency ! I was like come on again. So we decided it was time to let her go. We then decided to give someone else a try. As if the system gets angry it assigns some random teacher. So we got a reading teacher who only teaches 3rd grade reading. Come to find out this info after we're done with our trial run. I go to check my dojo (tutor.classdojo.com) and see that we have been assigned three classes with some random teacher whose credentials are unknown. Who assigned this teacher to me? Needless to say I was like, screw this!!! Cancel everything!! As a matter of fact, cancel dojo plus while you are it. I hate the incompetence. I hate the fact that I spent so much money in months past and none of my loyalty was honored. Then they have the nerve to tell me that the classes they book for me are considered prime time and they cost a bit more. The utter shame !! I will look somewhere . It's too bad that I had to say goodbye to what I thought was a good platform until today.

Dojo Disillusioned

Had it! Tutors show up say 50% of the time, if that, my twin girls are in the 5th grade and often they are just playing math games, which of course they like, but has it made an overall impact in their scores..NOT! Tired of sub par tutors and they can't even stay on for a full 30 minutes. Stay away.

Reply from ClassDojo

Hi Peter, we’re genuinely sorry your family’s experience hasn’t reflected the standards we hold for our tutors. We expect tutors to be fully reliable and to show up consistently for every class, and we take any missed sessions seriously. We also maintain clear expectations around teaching methodology to ensure lessons are focused, consistent, and aligned with each family’s learning goals and style. It sounds like the tutors you worked with took a more playful approach, which can be effective for some students, but they should have ensured you were comfortable with that direction. Neither of those standards were met here, and we understand how disappointing that must have been for you and your twins.

We’d love the chance to make things right by matching your family with a tutor who better fits your expectations and learning style, and who has our highest consistency rating. Our systems now include stronger procedures to ensure tutors meet both reliability and quality standards, and we’re confident your experience would be much better today. Thank you for sharing your feedback—it helps us continue improving for every family we support.
