Epic sunset views on the evening tour
The tour was so perfectly timed with the sunset, we had incredible views. Lines for security and to board the ship were nothing in comparison to how detailed and time consuming it seemed to be in the online description. We got there about 30mins early and waited around for 20 mins which was totally fine, they have a cool model of the island for you to look at. On the island the tour was cool, we mostly did our own thing, more self-guided. We kinda thought it would be more spooky doing a night tour but it wasn't. It was fun, gift shop didn't have anything that we couldn't live without but they have lots of very cool stuff. It was a great learning experience!

Terrible ferry dock at Ellis Island
We went on a NY City Cruise to Ellis Island. The ferry itself and the museum were fine. However, the management of the Ellis island ferry dock is catastrophic. We went in July and it was very hot. After finishing our visit of Ellis Island we wished to depart for NYC. Together with at least another hundred visitors we had to wait 2 hours for a ferry in a queue because the arriving ferries from Liberty Island were already full and could only take a dozen passangers. For elderly people and children this amounted to a serious health hazard. This could be easily fixed by firstly placing a canvas to provide shade in the queueing area and diverting every other ferry to Ellis Island first. Currently we strongly discourage doing the tour in the summer. The same applies to bad weather as well, as rainfall would be equally unpleasant as well.

It was alot of fun riding the boat over…
It was alot of fun riding the boat over to Ellis Island and then to Statue of Liberty. The views were great; the ride was smooth, and the picture taking was great. alot of people on board, but it wasn't cramped. There was plenty of space to walk around upstairs and downstairs and to take pictures with my son.

Brilliant boat trip to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
From start to finish, city experiences where so easy to deal with. Booking the tour for Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was so easy and straightforward.
The trip itself was extremely good. Once you got the boat at your time slot, there was no rush for the next boat leaving Statue of Liberty for Ellis Island as the boats continually went all day. Queues were long for the boats but were kept moving. Well worth doing. Was one of the best tours in New York that we did and we did a lot. Highly recommend.

It is a great tour, wear a hat...
The experience was very cool. You have to expect that it smells awful and the entire place is covered in bird poop. You might want to wear a hat, 3 people in our group got pooped on lol. The tour guide was knowledgeable but was a flaming liberal. She made the tour about how sorry we should feel for these incarcerated people and how inhumanely they were treated. It was the worst prison in the US at the time and they broke the law. Her tour was a poster for prison reform then and now and it was aggravating. We did learn a lot by asking questions and she had the answers; however, she needed to stick to the script.
