On February 27th 2026 a check i…

On February 27th 2026 a check i deposited in the blue USPS mailbox was stolen. The check was washed by the suspect erik gibbs and he re wrote the check to himself for $950. He cashed the forged check at citizens eastview mall. I contacted the citizens fraud dept on February 27th 2026. It is now April 17th 2026 and they have not reimbursed me or even contacted me about the incident. The Greece Poiice Department arrested suspect erik gibbs yesterday for the felony crime. There was a total of seven victims involved. The Investigator told me that all the other victims from ESL and Chase Banks were reimbursed by thier banks. The Investigator also told me that citizens fraud dept. has not cooperated like the other banks have. It may be time to switch banks, since nobody from the fraud department has contacted me about the incident. Still employed as law enforcement, I'm hoping I can get restitution from the suspect. Very disappointed with citizens fraud dept.

I had to do some banking today at the…

I had to do some banking today at the south main st branch in Middletown
I recently had some fraud reported and I had some questions
I was warmly greeted by the teller who listened to my tale
My concerns were laid to rest, and thanks to these dedicated employees, I was rebated several of their fees!
What a delightful day!

The fastest Heloc

The fastest Heloc . 14 days from start to closing. Very easy, very fast. Compared to others banks , it is the fastest. The collateral amount is slightly lower then others offered.

A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE

Back in February, I had to file a dispute with Amazon because I was not getting my refund. Fast forward to April 11th. My dispute was finally resolved, but now they closed my account froze my money. Over $700 in my bank account that I cannot access until they release the funds. And send me a check. In the meantime, I have $10 in my wallet and I’m barely surviving over here. My rent is late. My phone payment is late. All thanks to Citizens Bank. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about them.

My experience with Citizens Bank has…

My experience with Citizens Bank has been extremely frustrating. Every time I try to use my card late at night or transfer funds during overnight hours, the transaction gets declined. It makes no sense to have access to your own money restricted based on the time of day.

This has caused repeated inconvenience, especially in situations where funds are needed urgently. There’s no clear warning, no consistent explanation, and no reliable way to complete transactions when it actually matters. A bank should provide access to your money 24/7 without unnecessary interruptions.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience, and it seriously impacts trust and reliability.

This bank is by far the worst with auto…

This bank is by far the worst with auto loans.Let alone you can’t get anyone on the phone that speaks clear English.They have 5 times since Oct/25 reported my loans late.One payment I made in person,with cash and was still reported late.Oh,and cfpb,they are no help.They should be shut down too!I don’t know how this bank still operates with the lawsuits they have filed against them.If you get a auto loan(which they only do through a dealer) ask for another bank or get a credit union.You will never win with this bank,no matter who you contact.I honestly believe the cfpb doesn’t help the consumer,only big corporations

I applied for an equity line of credit…

I applied for an equity line of credit with citizens Bank. They solicited me with an application. The person filled out the application over the phone. I was prequalified. I gave them all the information I needed to give them. I was denied the home equity line of credit, which is fine because I do have one with another bank. The problem I have with citizens bank is, and I am an account holder with them, but I can tell you after 25 years of being with them I really disappointed that no one could call to give me an update on the status of my application. Therefore, I will be switching banks where I will now have my savings and checking account someplace else where my mortgage actually is citizens Bank do better. You’re losing customers.

No wonder their reviews are so low

No wonder their reviews are so low. Outdated software system, tricky procedures, very hard to get in touch via quick, readily accessible channels. The bot is pointless, no chat. To pay off a loan was such a pain. Never more, stay away, it's not worth the frustration.

Citizens charged me 50.00 to pay my…

Citizens charged me 50.00 to pay my child support without even informing me about the charge. I am a single Father just trying to make it and they did this to me! After being a customer for over 5 years this is unacceptable I will be closing my account today! Would highly recommend not doing business with them.

Worse banking experience I have ever…

Worse banking experience I have ever experienced, the customer service doesn’t have answers to anything, the are rude and Blount, the bank has a system set up so if you deposit checks the system can choose to put an automatic hold on the checks for 90 days and there is nothing you can do about it

I cant log in my account for a few days now I call the bank and they said there is no blockage no holds I should be able to login in if not i should try forget my user name and password I did that and it still won’t log in .. there is a big online technical issue going on I’m frustrated ..

My experience with Citizens Bank has been a nightmare!!!!

My experience with Citizens Bank has been extremely disappointing. After transferring funds to my wife’s account at Marcus/Morgan Stanley — a routine and legitimate transaction — Citizens Bank flagged it as “fraud” and closed all my accounts, including my HELOC, without warning. They provided no clear explanation, no investigation process, and no meaningful customer support. This decision caused unnecessary stress and financial disruption for my family. A bank should protect its customers, not punish them for normal banking activity. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Citizens Bank.

Incompetent and indifferent to customers.

What an absolute train wreck of an organization. Incompetent and absolutely indifferent to their customers. If you can, stay away; if your mortgage is sold to them (as was mine) buckle up, you’re in for a ride.

So I deposited $6000 from one of my…

So I deposited $6000 from one of my banks to citizens to pay off my credit card. They placed a hold on the funds for a week while charging me interest on the credit card. I called and all they could say was it’s their policy.
Looks like a great plan to continue to charge interest a very stupid policy as such

I paid off my loan But....

I paid off my loan and was expecting my escrow balance refund, mailed by Citizen Bank on March 20 via the Post Office. They promised delivery in 10 working days, but as of now it hasn’t arrived. Relying on the Post Office for such important payments is frustratingly unreliable—there’s no overnight option, and now I have to wait even longer if the check gets lost. Overall, the service is clear, but the mailing process could be improved for reliability and speed."

Scheduled payments

On multiple occasions I scheduled a payment for an auto loan and they processed the payment days early causing overdraft fees. In addition they told me there is nothing they can do about it and a refund would be almost a week out.

Not a mobile banking app for the meek…

For the most part my local branch does alright. Citizens mobile banking is so awful, I may need to take my business elsewhere. Every single time I use mobile banking (and I use it a lot) I have issues signing in, and I'm always having to reset my password, and my biometrics. It's getting old! I can't ever get on when I need to. So frustrating, and nobody can seem to tell me why this is happening. They get me back in, then it tosses me back out. Usually telling me: "Your account is not available at this time, try back later".well, later never comes. Or the app will tell me my account is locked without explanation. My debit has been compromised online at least 3 times in the last 12 months. They need better security anti-virus. They do clean up their mess, but it usually takes me going directly to the bank to fix issues. Kudos to the Latrobe PA branche(s)! Shame on the app developer! Worst app ever! They must never use the feedback, because I usually report my problems. Just do yourself a favor and avoid Citizens all together if you do a lot of mobile banking unless you have nerves of steel.
