Everything went wrong

Everything went wrong. We applied for Bristish short-term visa via CIBT last December, and still have received nothing but rejections and AI emails, after paying over $100 US or 109 British pounds, and submitting 3 photos per person. Horrible experience. We will go with a more efficient service, not CIBT.

Generally good with a few snags

I've used this visa service for two decades. It's fast, reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My most recent experience was somewhat less satisfactory than earlier encounters, though. Applications for Chinese visas are now done electronically. Unfortunately, CIBT haven't updated their instructions, so much of the information on their website and in their messages was confusing and required several calls to sort out. Additionally, some of the tips that staff provided me, like using my phone camera instead of Walgreens for passport photos, could have been made available on their website. Finally, CIBT sent me confusing email messages, like the one that informed me that my visa was still being processed on the very day that it was returned to me.

When I discovered the exorbitant…

When I discovered the exorbitant charges for using CIBT to apply for a Canadian ETA I cancelled my application straight away and got the ETA directly from the embassy for 7 dollars. CIBT ignored my requests and charged me £201. Theft, they are scammers.

Shocking hidden charges

Appalling that I was charged before I even started submitting the visa and it wasn't until 8 days later, when I received the final invoice detailing what had been taken from my account, that I saw I have been charged twice what the website stated. The total invoice was almost £500 for a service that was little different from what I would have got for £20 if I had gone direct. Absolutely no excuse for these hidden charges

Poor communication & execution - Missed International Travel

Poor communication and execution, extremely frustrating to work through this visa process. Did not give anything close to premium service, which we purchased. Alina, our rep, was hard to reach and didn't view or reply to emails in a timely manner - to the point that I had to continue to reach out by phone to ask them to read and follow up on my emails. There is no weekend help line for emergency assistance. Do not recommend. Passport was returned late and flight was missed! We were notified of the shipping date and tracking number for an overnight package; it was never shipped on the date stated. We were issued a new tracking number and ship date three days later which meant the international flight was missed. This flight being the whole reason why we utilized this service in the first place.

I applied for a Canadian ETA through this agency and received horrible service. It took 9 days (!!!) during which they were not able to provide any feedback on why it's taking so long.
After losing all hope to get support from this agency I just applied myself 2 days before my flight and got my ETA approved within a couple of hours.

Online experience not brilliant

Online experience not brilliant, followed all the prompts and paid the fees on 15/1/2026. Heard nothing so chased on 6/3/2026 to find that my information had been dumped and I had to complete the process again. Direct contact with the visa teams was excellent and the visa’s were back to me by 15/3/2026, very professional and helpful staff.
