I gave a CHUUG to my husband and my brother as a gift. They love them! The craftsmanship is superb. Very pleased with my purchase.

I ordered this on 1/24 and it arrived on 2/9 (about 16 days). Not terrible, but longer than I expected. The tracking info provided never actually linked to a carrier, so I wasn’t able to track it — it just showed up one day.

The outside of the mug is beautiful. The wood looks great and I’m excited to see it develop a patina over time!

That said, there are a few issues. On first use, the metal insert left a noticeable metallic taste in my mouth. I’ve run it through the dishwasher a few times and it’s still there.

There’s also a small lip underneath the metal insert where water collects in the dishwasher. I worry that whatever I’m drinking could also get trapped under that edge. The insert screws into the base, but the metal doesn’t sit flush all the way around — there’s a visible gap on one side between the metal and the wood.

The inside of the wooden part of the mug is also still pretty rough and doesn’t seem fully sanded or sealed.

I really wanted to love this mug because the outside looks great, but the taste issue and the fit/gap concerns make me unsure how well this will hold up long term.

They are Amazing! Very Cool! I Love them. Great for gifts.

Hi! I really like this mug / tankard. It’s a lovely mix of old school and newest tech and convenience. I haven’t gotten it out to Faire yet, but I can’t wait! The rope hands especially is such an attention grabber.

Shipping was INSANELY fast and from overseas, arrived without a hitch. I hardly ever wrote reviews, but this went so well, the product so good, well…here I am!

I ordered 3 chuggs as gifts. These are really unique great products. There are a few bits that could require improvement. The metal insert does not match with the wooden outer coating this results in a small lip. I feel the rope will maybe not survive the test of time- I may be pleasantly surprised however I am pessimistic at the moment. In saying that on time delivery and great communication

Handles are not rigid as in rope is not stiffened so feels flimsy to hold weight of the tankard especially with weight of liquid inside, medallion coins not stuck in straight not fine craftsmanship to be honest only buy if on offer definitely not not worth 50 odd quid

Very well made, great design with the screw out insert, however I have to be honest, it could be improved by being slightly wider. I cannot fit a hand inside it to wipe out the bottom properly.
Also, the rope handle was not in the best condition, seems rough and weathered rather than clean out of the box. I’m not completely dissatisfied, but for the price I felt a little deflated. Very good shipping time to Australia. Would buy again if you make one a little rounder

It’s the only mug that makes you feel like you should be shouting orders at a crew of bearded men while you finish your lager. It's the chuggiest CHUUG I have ever chugged. I appreciated how fast and efficient the company is. I didn't have to wait long at all for this first order. I love the quality of the product. It feels sturdy and the finishing in the ropes and wood feels to be of the finest quality. The steel innards if the tankard and plastic fastener seem to all have been machined and molded with high precision. My wife and I will most assuredly be placing more orders, so we can have all of the different wood and rope combinations. Well done, Chuug!!

I ordered this mug, january twenty second.Still haven't received it.I'm being told that it was sent back to the manufacturer from the shipping.I've contacted the manufacturer several times they told me to wait till this monday, not happy so far
