Amazing Value but Very Managed
For the cost of the total tour and the number of things we saw, I could not ask for a better tour package. Hotels were very nice with very good breakfasts. My only dissatisfaction lies in 3 areas: 1) There was a fair amount of pressure from one of our guides to purchase the optional excursions, as well as from the factory personnel to purchase goods; 2) if you did not want to take one of the optional tours, you were stuck on the bus with no availability to explore on your own; 3) outside of Beijing and Shanghai, the hotels were not near anything to walk to; no possibility to have dinner outside the hotel or to experience the local area.
Overall, the tour was great and well worth it. I just felt very managed, and I was logistically unable to go out and do anything that was not on the itinerary. I never had the chance to experience real Chinese food or a real Chinese local experience. The food served in the factories was worse than a bad Chinese restaurant in the USA.
Great Deal!
The 11 day China tour surpassed my expectations. I wondered what I would be getting for the price we paid. The hotels and their breakfasts were truly wonderful. The tour guides were beyond helpful, informative and organized. The optional tours are certainly worth the money. The beauty of China and sites we saw were memorable and breathtaking. The lunches and dinners that were included were plentiful while the food was just ok. We were taken to restaurants that cater to tourists and I felt the food was a bit bland. It was my thought that these meals would not have been served to Chinese customers. It would have been much better if our busses had WiFi (only 1of the 3 had WiFi). However, the seats were very comfortable and the busses were clean. I would not hesitate recommending this trip or this company to friends.
Our first time trip to China with INTERTRIPS
Our first time trip to Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Huangshan and Shanghai was beyond our expectation when it comes to food, hotel accommodation, tour destinations, tour guide and bus transportation for the price that we paid for the China Tour. Me and my husband would highly recommend it to other travelers. We are happy traveling with INTERTRIPS when we were in China!
I would not go with this tour again
I would not go with this tour again for few reasons. Their tour guides would not help us at all especially the one that starts from Shanghai. The hotels are good but all of them are outside the city and takes 1:30 to 2:00 hours to get anywhere. The food that they serve were average but not sufficient for the entire table and you have to ask many times in order they bring more. Not much free time at all. They want to take you to the few places that they want and they do not give you any time for yourself. The boat ride in Shanghai and both shows were very good.
we travel last year with my wife
we travel last year with my wife, it was an excellent experience, will take another tour in the near future. highly recommended .
nothing to complaint about, 10 stars easy,,,,,,
Well Worth the Money!
We took our 2 boys (ages 9 and 13) this March 2018 to China through China Tours. It was a smooth experience from start to finish. We booked the trip through Travel Zoo. The representatives from China Tours were professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Everything along the way happened exactly on the timeline that was proposed. The flights were long, but comfortable. Our tour guide was there to greet us in Beijing, and get us through customs and security and get us to our hotel. The hotels were all very nice...The first 2 nights in Beijing were the least desirable of all of the hotels, but still clean and nice.
The day tours were excellent - our guide took us on a very nice motor coach bus with our large group of around 40 all through Beijing over a few days and then on to Shanghai and the surrounding cities - this was may family's favorite!
The trio was great! Actions packed and very little time to stray off the "beaten path" but if was well worth the money. We would absolutely recommend to anyone!
Great tour at an affordable price.
The trip was really nice and the tour…
The trip was really nice and the tour guides May and David were excellent
Over all the tour is good
Over all the tour is good. I was thinking is a small group but more than 40 people for 1 tour too much people.

Wonderful Adventure
We traveled to China in March with China Tour and had a wonderful experience. Having never obtained a Visa, I was unsure of the process and they took care of everything. Our tour guides were very knowledgable and friendly. We learned a lot about the country and its people. The busses were clean and the drivers were amazing! The schedule kept us on our toes - I only wish we had more time at some of the breathtaking scenic spots. Reason enough to plan a return visit! The additional side trips were well worth the time and money. We always felt safe and taken care of. Thank you for giving us the experience of a lifetime!
Everything was exactly as promised
Everything was exactly as promised, no surprises!
There is no better value
There is no better value. Great accommodations and travel. Be ready for a few possible changes to your excursion itinerary.
Maybe still a bargain but you MUST plan for additional costs & mistakes
First, the price of the tour was amazing and in retrospect I would have paid the listed price plus the surprise price additions for the Japanese portion of the tour alone. Sub-contracted Japanese tour guide (don't know the company's name) Chiyomi Kuroishi made the trip an amazing experience with all the extra history and cultural info she added plus adapting the trip in route to keep the price down while focusing on our interests. The tour guide in China was absolutely fine but a little rigid--definitely showed concern when we left the medicine shop sales pitch without buying anything. We honestly felt we were respectful enough by staying through the talk and individual "analysis" without laughing at the pitch (think old Western movies where the guy comes into town to sell a bottled cure for all ills). Now on to the company that organized the tour--
1. Mistakes in booking due to not double checking their standard tour play (day 1, day 2, day 3 style) with the actual days of the week and times of the flights.
2. Crazy lay overs and flight times booked requiring you to stay up over 24 hours and remain in the airport to catch the next connecting flight (We finally figures how to get a "day pass" from the airport in China to go get some sleep at a nearby hotel).
3. The times of our arrival were not communicated to the tour guide in one country, but luckily they tracked down the possible flights the missing guests (including us) would be on.
4. Our original gateway airport was cancelled close enough to the trip to make getting an economical flight from New York gateway during Thanksgiving holiday impossible.
5. Note that tour guide fees/gratuities are listed by selling company as optional but they ARE NOT--they are the only way those tour guides get paid--so they are not an option. Also, the optional tours are really not very optional (at least in the Chinese part of the tour).
In sum: What is so sad is that the company could avoid the scheduling mistakes by applying their standard itinerary to an excel spreadsheet then just filling in the flight times for each individual tour so they could see the days/dates side by side--list the tour participant arrivals on same--make decisions on low purchase gateways early so customers can book additional economic flights--update excel sheet on tour member arrivals and forward to in-country tour guides. State ALL REQUIRED parts of tour clearly up front--don't bait and switch!!!!--Tour is still reasonable enough and more valuable without the stress! If tour requires fourteen hour or similar lay over in airport in China send step by step pictures and instructions for free exit and re-entrance to airport (available from fellow travelers by googling on web), standard US web sites provide plain, clean, super cheap sleep hotels near airport ($20 or so). That way for the price of a sit down meal you can recoup enough sleep to make the tour workable. Finally, the Chinese part of the tour seems more highly subsidized by required stops. That is necessary I guess, but when you stop at a place with merchandise to sell (like jewelry), everyone knows it up front and it doesn't seem devious. We bought something small to support the tour and some members loved the jewelry part and bought a good amount. But, the medicine shop folks should do an exit survey that would hopefully open their eyes to how shady they seem in terms of their product push. They snagged only one person from our tour group. If they had taken a more reasonable approach about the benefits of Chinese medicine that are acceptable to even people who believe in science they would likely have increased their income by gaining some sales from most tour members. They would have also saved their image. We were all honestly itching to get out of the room they closed us up in before we started laughing. Now, with our review I hope you can check the tour price (add in "optional costs") and see if the current tour price offered is still a bargain--It likely is--If so, make the adjustments listed above yourself (or double check tour schedule/gateway options in advance on own) and you will have a bargain tour. Or maybe the tour company adjusts after hearing above info from several customers and provides a tour that is still a stress free bargain for customers and local tour guides as well as a profit maker for China Tours--That is my best hope!
Amazing
Trip was amazing. Highly recommend. Great hotels, top sights, low stress for our family. Flights were good also. Food was only okay but you can go out on your own sometimes and get better food.
More authentic food
It felt like we were forced to spend at the Pearl factory, jade museum, and silk factory. They need to cut the time frame in half. We don’t need to be there for an hour. Also the food was not enjoyable, I would have preferred a more authentic food selection it was bland. Tour guide in Xian , Steve, was not organized, we spent allot of time waiting on him.

outstanding value
outstanding value.
Web sight could use a little help and clarity, always nice to know they have agent on call.
We saw so much
We saw so much, but there were other things I would have liked to have seen as well. Nine days was a bit too short. The tour and optional tours (take all of them!) were wonderful. I would have liked a bit more souvenir shopping time, but that's a personal choice.
Now, the tour itself was fabulous. What a bargain. Fabulous hotels. And the tour leaders couldn't have been better. Knowledgeable. Personable. Helpful. Our guide made sure we saw everything on the itinerary and even more!
One group that doesn't always get recognized that should - bus drivers. Traffic in the big cities is incredibly congested. Never felt unsafe. They took very good care of us and our belongings.
China is a very diverse and fascinating destination. I recommend it and I recommend ChinaTour.com
