As an electrical contractor using checkatrade for a number of years I am appalled at how they treat their customers. Their costs are increasing exponentially and when you try to leave or downgrade your account they threaten debt recovery and a continuation of chargeable fees even though your account is on stop!!!
I would avoid this company at all costs!!!!!!!

i got a quote from a company and they was traveller s. and that is not right

Come on Trustpilot you are suppose to be about transparency so why are you not redirecting to correct page for Checkatrade.com UK yet if you click on link Checkatrader.com on this page it goes to Checkatrade.com website.

This is my second review. This company are scammers. They do not thoroughly check their tradesmen and when it goes wrong, they are not interested. All they are interested in is getting ‘tradesmen’ to pay their fee then take 0 accountability when these highly sub standard people cause damage to your property and rip off elderly vulnerable people. Please don’t use them. Find another way to find a genuine tradesman. Checkatrade do not check. At all.

I am an Electrician and I am working on the Checktrada platform for many year.
I like to express my frustration today about my fee that as trader I paid the Checktrada like Everyone else per month.

Now today they sent it to me an invoice to pay on 29/05/25 total £387.60 as I always paid £243 per month.

That it was me shokig about that as I haven't signed anything as contract or they have call me and ask ne to record a conversation regarding this kind of changed.

Besically I have call 📞 today the some day I have received it the invoice and I spoke with someone as call center that it was not able to help me and she continue to repeat the some things like well we sent it an email and a tex message last month.

And I respond to her and what does it mean?
Do I did reply yes ?
Not I said to her why do changed my circumstances Checktrada Company without my permission or outhoritatio?
I said to her so because they keep and sent emails it doesn't mean I am happy with that and I agreed.

This is broken the law.
Checktrada it cannot do that they take it the money from my account without may permission and how much they want it
Can you demonstrate I have signed any agreements ?
Any email I have responded to them?
Any voice recorder?
Any thing as evidence?
No No No No
They haven't got nothing so they can't do it.

If I was in Australia or America or Canada they sent it the email 📧 that said my Contract it will be changed outomatic and I haven't received yet this email to box email junk email or spam or let's said I received it and I haven't open it or I recived and I read all what dose it means it means the can changed all my Circumstances?
So maybe next year they can take it £1,000 from my business account?

Is all Shame in legal and unprofessional.

I will make sure they will recived it the complaint and ect....

I had work done with a LA glazing as now not trading anymore and checkatrader is still have them on their website it's disgusting.

I have used Checkatrader before and been very satisfied. I feel I can rely on Checkatrader to give honest and reliable information and indeed again it turned out to be correct - a very good job was done and honestly charged for. Checkatrader certainly does what it's name says.
