Made in Pakistan not the UK.

I purchased the shoes as Chatham are a British Company and have a Union Jack on the box. However the shoes are made in Pakistan. Not English as expected, the quality is Pakistan quality. Such a shame. Very misleading and disappointing for shoes costing up to £150.

Excellent service

Ordered a cartridge bag Thursday, with my initials to be put on. Chose free delivery service (having called to be advised it was Yodel and NOT Evri) and it arrived Saturday. Think 48 hours is pretty impressive esp given the personalisation.

1 star is being generous

1 star is being generous. Bought a pair of deck shoes which were baggy/loose at the sides and very uncomfortable. Terrible customer service and a poor quality product. If you have an issue don’t expect a refund

Good customer service

Contrary to many of the reviews I had good experience with Chatham Marine. I bought a pair of Southill Waterproof Chelsea boots and was surprised to find they were very tight at the heel and the heel pull strap broke. Without quibbling I was offered a refund but chose a bigger size which seem OK. They appear to be well made but let's see if they stand the test of time. I will buy from Chatham again.

Fab deck shoes & customer service

I’ve had several pair of deck shoes and absolutely love them. Treat myself to a new pair every summer. This autumn I bought some of the calf length country boots and was very disappointed that the insides tore within weeks.. HOWEVER… excellent customer service, I emailed them and they asked me to send the boots back so they could see and improve from the damage and sent me a brand new pair of boots. Great service

I bought a pair of Chatham deck shoes- …

I bought a pair of Chatham deck shoes- the paper thin sole wore out very quickly because it was only mm thick. Here is the the reply I sent to Chatham after they refused to reimburse me:-
I cannot accept that the shoes have been badly stored nor gone brittle- you have to be kidding? Just look at the poor quality sole and designed thinness of of it. No matter when the shoes were purchased they purport to be something they are definitely not ie expensive, quality shoes which are designed to wear out very quickly (planned obsolescence taken to the extreme.)
I shall warn others of your poor quality product/s and will be leaving an uncomplimentary review online. Further, I wouldn’t buy a pair of your shoes again even if you offered me 50% off- you’ve wasted my time and money.

Purchased Dovedale slippers

Purchased Dovedale slippers, but selected wrong delivery option. When I called Chatham, friendly and very helpful woman corrected this and didn’t ask for difference in payment. The slippers are brilliant- warm and so comfortable. Another quality product and I highly recommend them.

Awfully made shoes waste of money

Awfully made shoes complete waste of money, ties were stuck to the insole with glue looks like they've been thrown together by a child. Horrible shoes would never recommend or buy again. Don't know how they've passed any sort of quality control. Covered in scuffs and look used.

Bought a pair of deck shoes direct from Chatham, they arrived with multiple scuffs on the leather and have almost certainly been worn or at least tried on. Not what you expect when buying new shoes for your honeymoon.

Terrible quality made in China

Bought Wellingtons reduced, I've worn them for about one month about 20 times, and the straps have broken and the really poor grip on base has all worn off already making them extremely slippery. Say and suggest they're made in UK, but actually made in China or Vietnam or other cheap labour and quality places. Emailed customer service with photos who would not admit there was a problem with the quality and took no responsibility and said take it up from who you bought with . Really really terrible quality, do not waste your money!!!

AVOID - Very Poor Experience

It seems I'm not the only one to have experienced poor service with Chatham. Similar to other reviewers, I purchased some deck shoes direct from Chatham. Comfortable and fitted well, though recently the sole on the right shoe had become detached from the upper - no damage, just through routine wearing.

Realised that they are still in the two-year warranty until May 2024, sent photos and two emails to Chatham "customer service", which were ignored.

If I don't get a reply by the end of the week, I'll be contacting the Trading Standards Authority with a formal complaint. The shoes are clearly defective and they are in the warranty period, and the lack of any kind of communication from Chatham reflects dreadful customer service. I shan't be buying any more of their products.

Faulty Shoes, Non-existent Customer service and false advertising.

The sole on a pair of my G2 deck shoes has started to fall off. They are guaranteed (supposedly) for 2 years under the G2 scheme. This happened after only about a year. I got in touch with Chatham with photos of the faulty shoe. I got an automatic reply that said:
1. They'd try to respond within 48 hours
2. Not to get in touch again about the same issue as I'd then go to the bottom of the queue for this to be dealt with.

After 2-3 months I wrote to them again to explain that not only had 48 hours long passed, but that 48 days had long passed and I that I hoped it wouldn't get to 48 weeks.
48 weeks is nearly here and I still haven't heard a thing. The 2 year guarantee is sailing very close to being false advertising!

Painful, uncomfortable and completely overpriced

I bought my first pair of Chatham shoes which lasted about a year. They were pretty and comfortable but the sole wore away quite quickly. I not long ago bought a similar pair to replace them. Upon their arrival I was really disappointed. Their quality was very poor... the insole looked handcut and unfinished. They are so incredibly uncomfortable to wear. I hoped over time they would have some give to them but I get blisters and pain on the top of my feet and can't wait to get them off by the end of the day. The sole has already started to wear down significantly and I only bought them under 2 months ago. This is extremely disappointing considering they are not cheap shoes. Sadly I won't be buying shoes from here again.

Absolute waste of money & time trying…

Absolute waste of money & time trying to apply the online discounts, eventually ordered through Amazon who delivered in under 24 hours...that's the only good part. Ordered Willow Ladies deck shoes size 5 & what arrived were barely over a size 4. They had previously been worn & returned as the soles were dirty & marks on the leather. The quality is also appalling, flimsy & cheap & without doubt would fall apart in no time as i've just read on various other reviews! Day of ordering on Chathams site they were £39.99 reduced from £69.00 plus postage but owing to difficulties with their site which kept charging £10 for delivery i ordered through Amazon at £41.99.
Free returns on Amazon & being collected Monday where as Chathams wanted £2.99.
Started looking online for a decent pair of 'proper' deck shoes & low & behold Chathams popped up, same Willow shoe, same Chathams for £20.70 reduced from £69.00! What a difference a day makes!
Says everything you need to know about Chathams & what they think about the quality of their own product. Obviously a rip off from the outset...

Chatham boat shoes …waste of money

Purchased a pair of Chatham boat shoes from a well known local department store. Happy with them, although hardly wore them due to the pandemic. They took some time to wear in, so reluctant to wear them because of that.
Wore them on a recent trip to London. We did a lot of walking that day. Two thirds of the way around I felt a strange effect from the front of my shoe. When I stopped to identify the issue I found the upper had detached itself from the sole.
Given the ridiculous list price of these shoes I contacted the customer service department.
Totally unhelpful. Despite the fact I advised them the shoes had hardly been worn. They insisted on seeing proof of purchase. Who keeps receipts these days?
I sent them photographs of the shoes wherein anyone could see they had hardly been worn.
Definitely will not be wasting my money on expensive shoes in the future.
It would appear even a prestige brand are not interested in providing good customer service these days. Whatever happened to good customer service?

I bought a pair of dark blue leather lace boots from a shop in our high street. Unfortunately, they have been very disappointing. The leather is of very poor quality and deteriorated quickly losing its colour despite using blue shoe polish. The crepe soles have both split in several places. The laces supplied with the shoes were far too long and required replacing before I could wear them. I won’t be buying another Chatham Group product again. Buy at your peril.

Excellent customer service

The customer service team responded quickly and efficiently to resolve an issue I had with a pair of boots. I would definitely buy from this company again, love their comfortable good quality footwear.
