Great support

The Chargebee support team is always quick to respond and provide assistance when needed. I really appreciate having the live chat available for quick questions and then the quick turnaround when submitting tickets. The interface is also very user-friendly.

Been excellent for our company! Unsure if I believe the negative press!

I was prompted to write a review for Chargebee following an upgrade to Product Categories v2, which was a good experiance.

When I came to the Trust Pilot page, I was suprised to see the amount of negative reviews and bad experiances.

We've been with Chargebee for approx 5 years and I cannot fault them. Unlike other faceless organisations we use in our stack, we get dedicated same day responses and they are always willing to jump on a call.

I can only speak for our own experiance, but I recommend trying them to make up your own mind.

Top shelf experience!

I can’t fault the help I received when I had a technical issue. The interaction was professional, genuine, and incredibly efficient. My issue was resolved in less than 12 hours — that has to be a record for me! Exceptional service from start to finish. Really impressed with the service.

🚨 Startups and Saas companies out…

🚨 Startups and Saas companies out there: save yourself the trouble and stay away from Chargebee

As a startup managing hundreds of subscriptions across web and mobile per day, we chose Chargebee expecting enterprise-grade reliability, trustworthy metrics, and responsive support. Unfortunately, that’s not what we’re experiencing.

For weeks, our team has been raising serious issues:
❌ Inconsistent reporting and unreliable metrics
❌ Unclear documentation around subscription statuses
❌ Broken mobile checkout experiences
Plus, customer support systematically delays responses and repeatedly defers issues, with promises of updates that never arrive.

We opened the latest ticket (#577163) on July 8. It’s July 30, and we’re still waiting for answers.

Hope this message helps others avoid the same issues.

Horrible

Once you sign up, if you get off you lose all the subscriptions that are on there and you can't port them over. So you have to pay them forever.

Extremely bad experience

We have, unfortunately, had a lot of trouble with Chargebee, both technically and with their support. Support response times have been weeks, even months, rather than days, and the technical issues, for example, with VAT change, have not only caused trouble to the company internally but also directly impacted our customers. The Chargebee team, including our Account Manager has showed zero understanding or support in solving matters or providing answers to questions. Even if the software can help some, just for the sake of the support (not just the daily support team, but especially the higher level) I cannot recommend the service.

Textbook Bait-and-Switch

We spent 7 months building our billing and entitlement infrastructure on Chargebee — only to learn, after completing the integration, that core features we relied on (specifically Net D payment terms and multiple payment methods per customer) are not available on our plan, and would require expensive upgrades.

These features were fully available and functional in their sandbox/test environment, with no warning or indication they were gated. We weren't prompted, alerted, or advised that these were locked behind add-ons or plan restrictions. Everything looked like it would work — until we tried to go live.

When we reached out, support acknowledged this is “by design” — sandbox shows all features, and it’s up to the customer to ask what’s real and what’s paywalled. That’s not just a poor customer experience — it’s misleading.

We were then presented with upgrade options totaling nearly $200/month to keep the functionality we already built around. No apology. No flexibility. Just a hard sales wall.

Do not trust Chargebee’s sandbox environment. If you see a feature available during development, do not assume it will be accessible in production — even if it appears to work.

Everything will seem fine until you go live — and then you'll be told those features are locked behind expensive upgrades.

We strongly recommend watching a youtube video titled "Buyer Beware: Chargebee" by Guardian Approved. Wish we would have seen this video when reviewing chargebee initally.

If you’re a small business or early-stage SaaS, think twice. There are other platforms out there with more transparent pricing, better escalation paths, and fewer surprises.

Decent But Not Deserving of Rev Share

Decent subscription management company but not worth the price. They want rev share for just providing a software. They are not a payment processor or payment gateway nor do they bring in any revenue.

Do your research, there are better alternatives that will not eat into your margins.

Chargebee Review

Using Chargebee has never been completely positive, but cancelling Chargebee is an extremely unpleasant experience.

Be very aware that setting up Chargebee is also a huge ordeal, they promise that all functionalities will work, but often they are hidden behind paywalls and / or to use them, you need to exclusively use their full platform, which comes at yet a higher price.

Chargebee Enables Unauthorized Subscriptions & Ignores Complaints

I was fraudulently signed up for a subscription by Turito Inc. through Chargebee without my consent. When I noticed the issue, I immediately contacted Turito Inc. to cancel. They confirmed the cancellation in September 2024, yet months later, I continue to receive renewal emails from Chargebee.

I reached out to Chargebee directly, expecting them to take action. Instead, they refused to cancel the subscription and told me to contact Turito Inc. – a company that ignores my emails. Despite repeated requests, Chargebee keeps sending emails about auto-renewal, even though no payment method is on file.

This is unacceptable. Chargebee enables unauthorized subscriptions and refuses to take responsibility for stopping unwanted charges and emails. Avoid any business that uses Chargebee – they make it easy for companies to sign you up for subscriptions without permission and then refuse to help when things go wrong.

Great support for report build!

Had a great support experience last night. Placed a call after hours and was sceptical I'd hear back. Within minutes I had Kavya on the line. We walked through what I needed in a report and tried a couple of solutions. When it wasn't quite what I was looking for, Kavya went back to the team with it. I received a confirmation that the team was on it and the next morning...poof!...step by step instructions were in my inbox. I thought that was very helpful. We are new to the system and now I have a reference that can help me with future reports, but if not, I know I can count on the team!

Chargebee's Suitability as an Enterprise Provider

We have been using Chargebee to support an upcoming product launch which has complex subscription and pricing options that exceed the internal subscription capabilities of every top tier payment processor we examined. Chargebee has a customizable and robust subscription system combined with an extensive API interface. I was very impressed with the speed and accuracy of their support responses even before we went to production. Chargebee seems well suited to support our national launch.
