RUN AWAY!!
This company is an infinity negative star place! Do not, under any circumstances, trust this entire network of car dealerships. They are unethical and just the worst company in the state of Arizona. If you have the misfortune of financing your vehicle through their own Chapman Auto Group finance, keep every receipt and every piece of documentation you ever receive. CAG is notorious for falsifying information.
I had a family member make the mistake of trusting these people and financing a car through them. She made her payments by money order and usually dropped them off at the drop box at the dealership. They started saying they didn’t receive payment and she faxed over the copy of the money order receipt. They said there was no proof that the payment was actually made to them, even though the money order was made for the exact payment amount. She fought with them for three weeks when they decided they wanted the car back. She was pretty much done with their shenanigans and just let them have the car. Two months later, the next thing she knows, she’s being charged with possessing a stolen vehicle. These lying criminals went to the prosecutors office and filed the report stating that a payment had not been made in over 90 days. She knew this was a blatant lie and was ready to fight it in court. Just after she received the court notification, she received a plain envelope from the company’s office and the uncashed money order was inside AND had the “for deposit only” stamp from the company on it, proving that, not only was CAG lying, but that they had also been concealing evidence in an attempt to lie to the courts and attempt false prosecution. She thinks it was sent to her from the ONLY person in the office with integrity. When she went into court the day of the trial, the prosecutor asked to see the money order and you could see his irritation. When the representative from CAG showed up, he took her into another room and laid into her for making a false report and wasting the court’s time. Naturally, everything was dismissed and she was cleared of all charges.
This is what this company does: it falsifies documents, conceals evidence, and tries to railroad innocent people. My family member’s isn’t the only story like this. I’ve talked to other victims who said they were deceived by CAG too. One person was working on catching up ONE missed payment when someone called her to say that they needed to run a maintenance check on the vehicle. When she took the vehicle in, they essentially repossessed the car and left her stranded at the dealership with no way home. Another person was also threatened with prosecution for “non-payment” and possession of a stolen vehicle if they didn’t return the vehicle they had been making payments on.
Chapman Auto Group is the WORST bunch of corrupt, lying, manipulating, low-down, dirty criminals I’ve ever had the misfortune of hearing about. They have multiple locations under different auto makers names (Chevrolet, BMW, VW, etc), so if you go anywhere for a vehicle and Chapman is in the name, run as far as you can in the other direction. When you hear people joke about sleazy, lying car salesmen, CAG is who they are referring to.
