Just very traditional my self why because they want your bank account routing number! So you can get stuck? And then while I am waiting for them to decide if I can get paper bill? They have promotions only for one time only cable? Really I don’t care about your cable why can you do what I am asking ? And the promotion of the cable is amazing really? That is how usually a bad company in headache are all about? And told the employe yes you do offer services on my building? But not still want to get my email address and all my personal information? Ridiculous! Get to point and now that see the bad and goo review here on you company ? I guess I have to look for a different company .
On and Off
I've had CenturyLink for a few years now. I experience daily interruptions of service. The 10Mbs I signed for, well, I'm still waiting to hit that speed. The best I've ever gotten was 8Mbs. If it weren't for the fact that they are the "only business in town" I would have dumped them a long time ago.
Service disruptions with Centurylink
Have had Centurylink since April. Frequent service disruptions for internet and phone. Then they hang you out for repairs. I, once again, am without phone or internet and they can't get to me for four days. I work from home so I have to find a hotel or Starbucks until I can get service repaired. I only wish I had a hoice as I woulD get rid of Centurylink immediately.
What a joke.
Due to an horrendous oligopoly that internet service providers have, CenturyLink is our only option. We pay for 50mbps. Not once on a speed test did I achieve over 35mbps on a directly wired device. We called their customer "service" and were informed it was due to our non-CenturyLink-issued router. Okay, we'll believe you. Buy the new router, and did not experience any chance except for less consistent speeds, more "dead" periods, and random expensive charges for items we did not want. So, we call again and complain about our lack of speed, lack of internet at times, and our excessive charges. Hours of waiting, an expensive visit from one of their flakey service guys, and we still have the same problems.
Don't even think about calling them if you want to wait less than 2 hours. We were once put on hold for upwards of 4 hours, which went into their closing time, so we were promptly hung-up on. It's just a sham. There is no competition, so this (profanity) company gets away with absolutely shoddy service at high profits.
Overall, this company has high prices, NO customer service, unreliable speeds to a point it should be criminal, and FAKE REVIEWS! Check out all the 4-5 star reviews they have and take a look at the date. Notice they're all the same? Notice how they're all vague, and could be about any product? They spent their consumer's money to buy fake reviewers!

Absolutely the worst customer service.
We were having problems with our Wi-Fi at our cabin and were advised by Centurylink that it was in our lines and we needed to have someone come out to check it out. We made an appt. for Thurs., June 9. We live more than 3 hours from our cabin, so we took off work and went up early on Thurs. to meet the service tech. Waited until 6:30 pm and then called and were told that our service was still "open" and if the tech didn't show up that night he would be there the next morn. By noon, no tech and no call so we called and were lied to numerous times, from being told the problem was underground (lines are above ground), to that they had been out and checked the lines that day (we were out on the porch all day, couldn't have happened), transferred to a "supervisor" who, when we finally asked if he was really a supervisor we were told no. Then they advised us we would have to reschedule for the next Thursday, which would mean we would have to take off work again and drive up to wait and would they even show up then??? Then we were told they would be by the very next day, Saturday. Waited, waited, called and were told there were two orders ahead of us and they would be there. Never showed up, no call, called and talked with someone who actually seemed to try to help, was told they would be there at 4:00, no show and no call, the "helpful" person called us back at 6:30 to check to see if they had shown up and when advised they hadn't, she hung up on us. During all this time we were lied to, hung up on numerous times, apologized to, etc., but we still don't have service, still haven't heard what we need to do about it or when this might get resolved. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered!!!
Not trustworthy, thieves!
I have been an Internet only Century Link Customer for 4 years, 2 months, and 18 days (as per customer service). When we originated service with Century Link we signed up for internet speeds of 15 mbps. When speaking with customer service I was informed that the modem Century Link provided me, maxes out at a speed of 10 mbps. Today our monthly service is significantly less at $74 per month than it was for the first 3 years we received service from Century Link. Today I am told by a representative in customer service that the monthly service for speeds of 10 mpps is $58.93. When I called this to the attention of a supervisor I was offered a 3 months free modem lease for a credit of approximately $30. Based on today's services prices, I have paid $753.50 more than I should have paid, based on the actual service I was receiving. Please note, the actual amount is MUCH more significant as our monthly service agreement was substantially reduced in December of 2014. A measly $30 credit is NOT by any means acceptable!!! This is fraud and should be noted as such!
Worst company service
Just got off the phone with Century Link escalations desk. Due to their ineptitude I am now in collections with them. I have contacted them 5 or more times to get a box sent to me so I could ship their crappy modem back to them and never received one. So now I get to deal with collections (for the first time in my life) and Century Link's terrible customer service. I will never use them again or recommend anyone else uses them. Cheap prices get you cheap service. I guess you get what you pay for.

I find this unacceptable for service they should be performing. Service they provide once you get the right person on repairs seem to be fine. That is why I rated 2 stars. If you call on service you need lots of time and a good phone for hold.

ridiculous
After being a loyal customer for about 10 years, my family bought new property and moved 3/4 of a mile from where we had our service, from a dirt road to a highway. When I contacted centurylink to have my existing service, a phone and Internet bundle, moved to my new address, I was told they would be unable to do so because Internet service was exhausted in my area and they were not allowing any new accounts. I didn't want a new account, I wanted to move a 10 year old account of over $100 a month less than a mile down the road. I talked to numerous reps and was told the same thing. Since my service had to be canceled I have had to up my cell data plan to accomodate my home business and my children's schooling. It would be nice if centurylink would try to address the lack of Internet availability issue in my area, because I know several people who would be interested in service.

I was with Comcast and not only were my bills wrong every month but service was horrible... I switch to centurlink because the 50mbps was available and now I can stream without the worry of buffering. I actually use my wifi now instead of doing it through my phone hotspot!

Great Customer Service
I called in looking for a reasonable price for some reliable internet. The salesman explained to me how DSL internet is a reliable connection and made me feel like I was getting a good deal. He also answered all of my questions that I had and made me feel that I was taken care of. I've been satisfied with my internet service ever since.
1gig! Loving the speed
I can't believe how fast and reliable this internet is. I got set up a few months ago, and my speeds are consistently the fastest speeds I have ever had. Also, the price lock is great. I love not having to worry about my prices going up every month.
