Automatic renewals hidden in small print

After reading other reviews, it’s clear our experience isn’t unique.

Causeway rely on automatic renewals hidden in small print, send no reminders, and then demand full payment even when the software hasn’t been used for a year.

Like other reviewers, we were offered no flexibility, no goodwill, and were instead met with contract clauses and threats of legal action.

Numerous reviews mention being mis-sold “trials”, being locked into long contracts, difficulty cancelling, and being chased for large sums despite non usage which was exactly our experience.

We will never use Causeway again. Read every line of the contract and do not expect goodwill.

Would give 0 if it was possible

Would give 0 if it was possible, trying to close my company in the correct way, which is not an overnight thing. Told this company in March the company was no longer trading and was dormant until cessation could be completed correctly and was told subscription would be cancelled. Obviously this was a lie as Then got a demand for over £25k which I argued, was informed this was required as company still active on companies house website. this was later reduced to around £6k but only if I paid it in 7 days otherwise they would object to my company closure. I have not paid them as do not have that sort of money spare and they have objected to the company being closed. Have tried calling them numerous times and nobody ever answers when you go through your reception, just get message saying nobody available to take your call or silence. Have emailed numerous times asking them to call me back and they never rush to reply to the emails and have never called back. When they do reply it’s just a further demand for money. Absolutely atrocious company, nothing but a money making scam with no intention of resolving the issue. Am in the process of seeking legal advice

contract for five years but promised a years trial

We have had a terrible experience with this company. They deliberately mis-sold their product. Please see other folks reviews which back this up. They promise and trial and then hit you with a sneaky five year contract. It's nothing short of a scam. Their software (Flow) is not functional enough for us to use with Water Authorities, therefore, we are stuck paying £2600 a year plus VAT for something we have not used in well over a year. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SALES TEAM.

Read the terms and conditions!!!

Have you ever had a contract that rolls over for 5 years without notifying you and increases the price by 10% per year? Then when you query this they refer you to the small print and there’s no escaping or reducing the licenses even though you need less of it. Do not purchase from this company.

Underhand Contract Terms

As with other reviews on here we are facing the legal battle of their grossly unfair, hidden rollover contract clause. We have been with the company for 15 years and weren't surprised to be contacted by them last week to be told that the software we were using was archaic and possibly being discontinued as everyone that understood the programming was "retired or dead" as they put it. Thinking that this was probably the push we needed to go to market and look for a new alternative, imagine my surprise when I was told that we were tied in for a further five years, which we would only be released from if they decide to discontinue it. Appalled, after so many years loyalty to be treated this way. I am currently looking at legal advice and contacting our Trade Bodies, some of whom are helping them advertise their products!! I will be informing them that they should be warning their members about their underhand ways of doing business and NOT promoting them.

Read all Small print. Make salesman state FULL length of contract in emails

As with all the other reviews on this site, I have also been caught out by these con artists!!
All phone calls stated 12 month renewal. VERY small print on contract states an initial period of 5 years!!!!! Unbelievable.
Also they demand 3 months in writing by recorded delivery the written termination (hidden in small print in contract!!!)
This company are simply out to scam you. Do NOT touch.
I have reached out to them and the response is simply, you signed you pay!!!
Completely misols this contract and software by Brett.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from these scam artists.

Do not touch with a barge pole

The salesman was totally pushy and misrepresented the contract. Told the secretary that it was renewable yearly but hidden in the small print it states 5 years and automatically renews for a further 5 years if not cancelled by recorded post. Of course the salesman only stated this verbally so they are able to totally deny it
They did not send us an update when reverse charge vat accounting came in so the report for Tradex no longer worked. CBRE then stopped using Tradex but we were still forced to finish the contract.
it is not a company that I would even recommend to my worst enemy!

Watch for the Contract

Can only endorse other reviews - We got caught by the auto renew contract. 60 days recorded delivery notice requried, or aut renewal for 3 years!!

Totally unnecesary, devious and unethical.

Absolute scam -Avoid Avoid Avoid!

Absolute scam. No Leads. Absolute fortune paid out and unbeknown to us, an apparent rolling contract and 3 months notice for cancellation!! Unproffessional and daylight robbery.

Many years ago

Many years ago, I tried to deal with this Company. I found them to be the most dishonest bunch of "Con Artists" I have ever discovered in GB. Signing Up for their service is EASY. Escaping from them is near IMPOSSIBLE. And if you break away - They will sue.
Standard mantra is " All cancellations must be 3 months in advance in writing via post to a DEAD Mailbox. The service they offered was NOT what it seemed. Do not deal with this Company. You have been warned.

Unethical con artist’- stay away at all costs.

Was sold the dream, however received the nightmare. Sporadic jobs sent through, no opportunity to win these as they just use you as a pricing agent.

They have a disgusting ethical strategy as they sign you up and make it very hard to cancel without continuing another year.
I’ve lost £6,000.00 to these before I was able to get out of my contract. What did I get in return? Not one single thing.

Our overall experience with Causeway…

Our overall experience with Causeway was very positive . The introductory chat over teams was very informative and the team were always on hand to help with any questions or queries regarding the tenders sent. They were also very reactive and were trying to model the tenders to the works that you would like to tender and win. i would recommend Causeway if you are looking to expand and win more competitive tenders
