Causebox/Alltrue is an unethical company
Causebox was a great idea - but in practice they sent out items that didn't quite work and were really just pretty junk. When they became Alltrue it got worse and the connection to actually sustainability or conscious-consumerism became even more tenuous. Finally, when the new ownership took over they canceled my membership with 3 boxes paid for but not shipped and told me that they didn't owe me anything because my membership had been canceled. I was out $200 and they sent me a coupon. This is not an ethical company and you should definitely not sign on for a membership.

Never received anything and ordered my box in April. Just wanted to mention I I got refund through my credit card. Make sure to contest the charge with your credit card.
it's may nineth and I haven't received…
it's may nineth and I haven't received my winter box yet what is wrong with this company ? this happens every season and when they finally do send it after multiple complaints all you get is the junk no one else wanted if anyone is looking for a legit subscription box do yourself a favor and get fabfitfun I want my money back from causes but they don't respond had to cancel my debit card to get rid of them
As a new customer I feel beyond…
As a new customer I feel beyond disappointed. I paid for a yearly subscription and I also paid for add ons. It's February and the box that i purchased back in November hasn't shipped yet. I also haven't received an add on item. I will not be doing business with this company again.
The subscription boxes are great
The subscription boxes are great, and you get much more than you paid for. BUT - the customer service is awful. Their replies are automated, not tailored to the customers concern/issue. The shipping for market orders (additional order outside the subscription package) take months to ship, and many times are missing items. Very disappointing.
Avoid this scam company at all costs
Avoid this scam company at all costs. They bill you immediately for things you may or may not get in 3 months or more. They are a joke.
Not for me
Low quality items abound with some gems, but not worth it. Most of the things I got from them broke or became unusable with in a few months. Granted, I generally only get high quality items that last years with good care, so maybe it’s on me for not being much of a “consumer”. In 1 year I found 2 products I really liked, but didn’t have enough of a need for them to restock. I’m a bit on the minimalist side and decided to try CauseBox for a year as the most interesting sounding subscription box. Between the low quality items and not being able to customize everything (thus getting useless items like toner I’m allergic to), I won’t be going back. However, if you’re really into subscription boxes, it seems to be among the better options. Always gave me great customer service.
WORST SUBSCRIPTION BOX
If I could give them zero stars I would… I signed up for the annual in the spring. Was told I’d get a “tech bundle “ never received it. So summer rolls around and I requested to skip my box because I have no use for anything. Plus knowing how slow they ship I wouldn’t have it summer. So instead I ordered add ons in MAY. We are now in August almost September…still haven’t received anything. I emailed them a few times. First time they said it’s shipped so there’s no refund. It’s no shipped there was only a label printed. I can do that myself. That was July 8th. I emailed again. “Wait 10 days” for what?!? Oh to print a new label. I contact them again 10 days later and they’re looking into it. What is there to look into. All you did was print a label. FedEx can’t ship something they don’t have. Then I get a random email last Friday that they’re having “warehouse “ issues and “FedEx” problems and they’d send out another shipment. Well it’s a week no fake shipping label, no tracking, nothing. Honestly I don’t want it now…when’s my SUMMER order coming…FALL?!? For what you pay it’s so not worth it.

A lovely little company that is worth my money and time.
I have been a very satisfied customer for over a year. I chose an annual membership because I wanted the opportunity to customize my boxes and I enjoy choosing the items I will receive. I have found that most products are well-made and of good quality.
I also take advantage of the add-on market to make purchases at significantly discounted prices. Altogether, the subscription box and add-on market give me a great opportunity to try new personal products, make personal purchases for myself and home, and stock up on unique and lovely gifts ahead of Christmas and birthdays.
Boxes come with a pamphlet describing the provenance of products that come from and benefit small, women-led businesses and artistic endeavours from around the world. I’m aware that Causebox/Alltrue also support and promote women’s interests through advertising, awareness campaigns, and direct donation.
For all of these reasons, I’m happy to purchase my subscription at a higher price than I’d expect from other subscription boxes.
All of that said, the past year has seen challenges related to the pandemic and consequent disruptions to global supply chains that have affected all businesses, including this one.
They have posted shipping times on their website, and they update order information on customer accounts to show when an item has shipped. It’s pretty obvious that many customers do not consult the website before venting on the company’s social media pages and on review aggregators like Trust Pilot.
That’s too bad, and particularly hard on the real people behind this little company.

Joke of a company
Joke of a company. My girlfriend has been subscribed for 2 years and her last 4 boxes have been damaged with big holes in the corners, almost like someone at the shipping warehouse was taking a look at what's inside. The last box contained bamboo bowls which 3/5 were broken. Not the first time items have been damaged. The items are mostly junk and worth roughly 25% of the price you pay for the box. Not surprising after reading the majority of these reviews. They should change their name to scambox... also i doubt this review will be up long considering they delete any negative feedback.
Also I will be awaiting their generic response about how they appreciate the time I took to write some feedback.

Used to be good and thoughtful…
I just got my first box yesterday after Causebox changed to Alltrue. It was terrible aside from the fact that the summer box arrives at the end of summer practically. Nothing in the box was wrapped, I opened it and it had all been thrown in. Nowhere in the box was a description of what was in the box so I had to research each item. They used to have a catalog in the box that told about each item which was important to me. This box was full of serums which are so natural they don't work and yet another carry along cutlery set which I would never buy. What a dissappointment. Canceled my susbscription.

They delete EVERY negative review on…
They delete EVERY negative review on their social media . This to me is disgusting ethics. The products and customer service should stand on its own merit . A business that has to delete over half and sometimes all of the comments on each post on their page has something to hide . Customers should be able to judge for themselves how to perceive the company . They also appear to try have very misleading advertising and seem to try and trick new subs . Only ANNUAL members can customize . Most reviews on here are accurate experiences and they hide these at all costs. Ps... they openly bash the former president of the US , seem to hate conservatives and have a political agenda ... disgusting . Just read their response and comments on the post they authored asking about activism ... that is just one.

Please save yourself the pain and don’t sign up.
Do not sign up!
Subscriber for over 2 years. Before COVID i loved getting my boxes. In the last year they have gotten worse and worse. They seriously made one of the options be the same face serum you got 2 boxes ago. Not only that but they are always having you choose face serums. How many face serums? I literally have 7 from the last year. I don’t use any of them.
They used to be awesome, not anymore. Please don’t waste you $$$. Your stuck riding it out until your pre-paid boxes are done shipping all the while watching them pull in more and more people that will be writing this same review in a couple of months.

Now Alltrue but should be called…
Now Alltrue but should be called AllLiars.
There are amazing products to entice new customers, but it’s a bait and switch. Once you sign up, the options are TERRIBLE and all repeats.
There are great options in the market place, but that’s all extra.
Oh, and now, now EVERYONE can customize! Why is that an issue you ask? Because customers like me paid $200 upfront and the ONLY perk for that, was getting to customize. I want a refund!
Worse than all this? The reason they’re flat out, used car salesman style liars?
They hide and delete ALL negative comments! Facebook, insta... instead of fixing issues hundreds of customers are angry about, they just spend their time hiding that so new customers don’t see those comment... that’s why I’m here on trustpilot.
NOT a trustworthy company. The only reason for the rebrand was to try to avoid the backlash they were getting... well, it shouldn’t work.
Edit to respond to their reply:
More lies. Every single quarter, new members are offered great products that existing members can’t access, while getting repeats and junk from China (again, the last part of the response is a flat out lie).
You can trial the quarterly customization, but that doesn’t change the fact that I was duped into buying a year that you won’t refund, to get a perk that’s being offered to all.
And lastly, no… I absolutely do NOT want to stick with such a terrible company! But you won’t refund the remaining 3 boxes I haven’t yet received (I skipped summer because every item was useless junk).
Notice how they didn’t say anything about hiding all the negative reviews and comments on Facebook? Buyer beware - they have no interest in customer retention, ONLY new customers!

Ugh. The worst.
I was roped in by a YouTube review and their company statement seemed promising. 50 bucks later I have no box and no response from customer service or their Facebook page. Both send automated responses claiming they’ll get right to you and they never do. I wish I had read the reviews here before I took a chance on this company. A waste of both money and time. Avoid.
LET THE BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
they charged me for a box and it was never delivered. they will not respond to emails or phone calls. they are thieves.

"Ethically Sourced" products. Clearly not ethical in practice. Shame on you, CauseBox.
Here's the thing. I have tried various catered boxes from FabFitFun (lifestyle), to Birchbox (makeup), to TokyoTreat (snack). I was genuinely excited to try CauseBox and see what made them different. When I saw this tagline on a Facebook advertisement, I jumped at the offer: “The New Spring Intro Box is a FULLY customizable box with a GUARANTEED VALUE of $150+ full-size products delivered to your doorstep —all for just $25!”
This literally reads as getting to customize your own box for $25, and I signed up with this impression. I was shortly disappointed when I didn't have this option. I did reach out to their customer service team and asked for clarification in where I went wrong. Which was it? Was the box fully customizable at $25 or wasn't it? Individuals who buy the quarterly membership ($25) don’t have that option, and those who buy the annual ($150) pay far above any “$25”. I was merely told I didn't read the finer text available when signing up (not offered a refund of any kind either), but I fail to see how that answers where exactly I misunderstood the advertisement?
I was really looking forward to trying out a new subscription box, but not for something so misleading. I would rather give my money to an honest company who values their customers. The CAUSEBOX individuals who created this ad know very well how it reads, considering the amount of confusion it generates.
TLDR; While claiming to be "ethically sourced" their advertisements are totally false, misleading, and unethical themselves.
FabFitFun over cause box
Have it 2 stars just because their products are cruelty free. However, if you aren’t a yearly subscriber you cannot choose at the items you would like to pick therefore, they end up sending you the crappy things nobody wanted. They products are not even valued what they say they are. I could have gotten better things for what I payed for this box. Also, the shipping is a complete mess. My order took about 3 months to arrive. I’ll keep shopping with FabFitFun they are wayyyyyy better for a few dollars less.
Blaming COVID for everything
They have had issues with shippinglong before COVID, but have being using COVID as an excuse on why they can never fulfill their orders on time to paying customers.
Ironic to note their influencer boxes and "get a code" box reviewers NEVER seem to be impacted by COVID shipping delays. Their boxes always land at the beginning of a season while the rest of us wait months.
I selected a 2021 planner in November with their Winter Box that I didn't receive until FEBURARY. How do you blame COVID for that? Well they did. They do. And they don't care to hear the thousands of us who are tired of being sold this same untruthful story. For a company that preaches ethical products, their behavior with customers is anything but ethical.
