Avoid Castlegate Lettings – Ongoing Council Tax Issues!

I have been dealing with Castlegate Lettings for over two years, trying to get them to pay my council tax, which was included in my rent. Despite multiple emails and promises that they would “chase it up,” they never paid it. I am still receiving overdue notices from the council tax office, and Castlegate continues to ignore the issue.

If you are considering renting from them, BE CAREFUL. Make sure you check with the council tax office to confirm that everything is being paid properly. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from them. They do not take responsibility for their obligations, and you could end up stuck with unexpected bills like I have.

I am sharing this to warn others—do not trust them to handle your bills as promised.

I am a new tenant. I started living in a studio since late August. The team is very helpful, kind, friendly and well educated. They have good knowledge of what they are doing.
This place is brand new. I live in a small studio which includes 1 double bed, kitchen, bathroom and corridors. So I pay £650 a month. I am surprised of the privacy and the noise. I can't hear anything from my next door or up stairs. Barely anything. In contrast with other accomodations that I tried (2nd year student in Huddersfield). If you need advice for anything and you are new to the area or you not sure where to buy particular things for your studio/room/ apartment. You can just ask for advice from staff. They provide cleaner for common areas. Also have washing machine and dryer. Opposite is tm Home Bargains and £1 or Below for our convenience. I'd like to add that what you see in the picture that's what it is. In the kitchen for example you have: microwave, fridge/ freezer/ kettle, 3 pans for INDUCTION HOB, oven, 1 big white bin, desk with a chair, draws.
All in all I am very happy living in here.
