CaseSix Veterans Benefit Advocates exists to define, develop, and present Veterans’ claims to the VA with precision, strategy, and persistence — handling the heavy lifting while working in close partnership with the Veteran. Under the leadership of Rhonda Mitchell, a retired senior VA Decision Review Officer (DRO) with 37 years of inside-the-VA experience, CaseSix brings a rare, practical understanding of how claims are actually evaluated, developed, and decided. Rhonda is also a VA-accredited Claims Agent, and her career has been spent reviewing and correcting claims from within the VA system itself. At CaseSix, we don’t simply tell Veterans what to do. We actively develop claims — identifying viable conditions, clarifying theories of entitlement, organizing medical and service evidence, shaping narratives, and ensuring each claim is properly framed under current VA law and procedure. When necessary, we continue that work through appeals and Higher-Level Reviews, always with an eye toward accuracy and long-term outcomes. Successful claims are a team effort. Veterans participate by providing medical records, personal statements, and other supporting evidence. Our role is to take that information and turn it into a coherent, well-supported claim the VA can properly evaluate — minimizing guesswork, missed issues, and preventable delays. We routinely assist Veterans who: = Aren’t sure whether they qualify for VA benefits or what they may be eligible for = Have already filed a claim that is stalled, delayed, denied, or difficult to understand = Have medical records or service history but don’t know how (or if) that evidence actually supports a claim = Are considering filing for an increase, an appeal, or a correction and want to avoid costly mistakes Every engagement begins with a careful intake and assessment. In some cases, that leads to formal representation and full claim development. In others, we are candid when a Veteran is better served by free VA resources or a self-directed path. We are transparent either way. Our support can span from early-stage evaluations through full claims development and appeals. We handle the documentation, coordination, and procedural details so Veterans can focus on their lives — not navigating VA bureaucracy. CaseSix also leverages modern, secure technology to serve Veterans efficiently. Digital forms, secure document sharing, electronic signatures, and remote consultations replace outdated, clunky methods with systems that respect Veterans’ time and privacy. Above all, CaseSix is known for being thorough, candid, and persistent. We anticipate problems before they arise and don’t rush decisions that deserve careful development. As we like to say internally: “It ain’t over ’til Rhonda says it’s over.” That mindset reflects our commitment to seeing claims through — thoughtfully, ethically, and in the Veteran’s best long-term interest.

Hi Sean —

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’d like to provide some factual context for readers.

Our interaction occurred in September 2024, over a year ago, and lasted less than an hour. It consisted of you completing our online intake form and participating in an initial Q&A phone consultation. As we do with all potential clients, we briefly discussed your situation, how we work, the services we provide, and how our fees can vary widely based on individual case complexity and scope. Following that conversation, you confirmed by email that you chose not to proceed further and indicated that you intended to pursue free VA resources instead — a decision we supported and wished you nothing but success with.

To clarify:
- No services were retained
- No work product was created
- No fees were assessed

While we understand that not every firm is the right fit for every individual, references to “services provided” or cost can understandably create confusion in this context. Because you chose not to move forward with the initial VA (required) process, no case complexity could be determined and no fee quote could be provided. We parted on what we understood to be friendly and professional terms.

For clarity, the scope and value of our services are reflected in the work we perform for retained clients — including comprehensive claim development, ongoing support, and continued advocacy throughout the VA process, including Higher-Level Reviews and appeals. As no engagement occurred here, there was no opportunity for you to experience or evaluate those services.

From the beginning, we have remained committed to being transparent, respectful, and candid in every interaction. We tell it like it is. Our role is to use our expertise to simplify the VA benefits process and reduce the complexity and challenges Veterans often face.

If you have questions in the future or would like to revisit the conversation, you’re welcome to contact us directly.

At first I was a bit leery

At first I was a bit leery. However, after listening to both Anton and Rhonda describe their process I was comfortable to give a try. There was little to loose and very little cost. Yes, there is a nominal fee upfront, but first CaseSix does, with your authorization, have a look at your records. If they feel there is something to gain, they will explain it to you and get started. I was starting at 100% and didn't think there was much for me to gain. There was, and I'm collecting it now. Talk with them and let them evaluate your situation. Don't forget you are dealing with the military and the VA. This means the process is not fast, but what do you have to loose?

I'd give CaseSixvets 13/10 stars if I could!! They are some of the finest people I've ever worked with. I went from 10% to 100% with their help. It took 2 years but that's the VA moving at a snails pace. If Rhonda tells you to expect a call at 1600 your phone will ring at 1600. Not 1601. They have walked me step by step through the process. The sheer number of times they have had to correct VA mistakes is in itself worth the money. Her years of experience at the VA is invaluable. This is the best thing I've done since my EAOS!!

Exceptional Support from Start to Finish

After nearly a decade of dealing with pain post-discharge, I was finally referred to CaseSix by a trusted mentor—and I’m incredibly grateful I made the call.

From the very first conversation, Rhonda was honest and transparent about the process, outlining potential hurdles and ensuring I had all the information needed to make an informed decision. There was never any pressure—just genuine guidance from someone who clearly knows the ins and outs of the VA system.

Anton was equally outstanding. He consistently went above and beyond to explain the administrative side of things, making sure everything stayed on track and stress-free. Their professionalism, knowledge, and dedication made me feel supported every step of the way.

Thanks to Rhonda and Anton’s incredible teamwork and attention to detail, I never once worried about whether I was in good hands. They kept me updated throughout, always found time to answer questions, and were just a phone call away whenever I needed clarity.

In about nine months, we reached a resolution that I’m extremely happy with—not just because of the outcome, but because of how smooth and reassuring the entire experience was. I truly can’t imagine trying to navigate the VA process alone.

I’m proud to be part of the CaseSix family. Thank you, Rhonda and Anton, for your unwavering professionalism and care. Highly recommended to any fellow veteran navigating this journey.

CaseSix: The Key to My Remarkable Journey to the 100% Club

I cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional support I received from CaseSix, from Rhonda (VSO) and Anton (Executive Director). They went above and beyond my expectations throughout the entire VA disability claims process.

Rhonda and Anton guided me in focusing on the most critical aspects of my claims. Their expertise in navigating the complexities of submission was invaluable, especially emphasizing the importance of Personal and Lay statements to strengthen my case. Their patience, kindness, and understanding made a significant difference during what can be a daunting process.

Without their help and expertise, I would not have made it into the 100% club! I truly could not have done this without their support and knowledge. Rhonda and Anton are not just advocates; they are genuine cheerleaders for their clients. If you’re seeking assistance with VA claims, I highly recommend CaseSix. They are worth every bit of support you need!

Worst Experience That Left Me Belittled & Confused

Hello all,
Normally, I mind my business and never post disgusting issues that occur in life; however, this was something serious. Today’s climate made me want to post about the overt ignorance that consistently happens that we don’t mention. I reached out on December 17th, requesting assistance filing a VA claim with an OTH discharge since the VA changed the rules regarding OTH discharges and eligibility for benefits. So, I spoke with Anton first, and we chatted about my options. I informed him ahead of time of my “job” in the military, and we determined that tinnitus would most likely be my first option. We also chatted about the OTH because I stated my goal of upgrading my character of service due to Mxx, which took years to muster up the courage to even want to do, knowing what happened to me in the military.
I even chatted with Rhonda regarding my goals, and she informed me that it would take about 45 days. Fast forward, I received a letter from the VA indicating my intent to file in January. Now, all this time, I have not heard from Rhonda. I reached out on February 23rd at 10:31 am because, at that point, it had been over 60 days with no communication from Rhonda. Rhonda responded the same day at 10:44 am, stating she REVIEWED my service treatment records and had me on the list to call next week, and if I had a few minutes, she could call me with her findings...but she would only be available until a little after 11 am.
Of course, I did not respond to that message because a true professional would not provide someone with a sensitive matter in less than 30 minutes. This short time frame does not allow for a thorough review and understanding of the case, which is crucial when dealing with sensitive matters such as military discharges and health issues. On February 25th, at 11:42 am, I received an email asking me to schedule something for the same day, at 2 pm, or Friday, 2/28, at 3:30 pm. Of course, I chose 2/28 at 3:30 pm. In her email, she stated she didn’t find any “chronic condition” in my STR to make a recommendation...and that is where I think it all went downhill. What I took away from our December 17th meeting was that we understood my goals and the path I was taking. Not being on the same page happens when people do not take notes during intake, or take the time to keep up to date on what the person is trying to resolve.
Everyone is not a file or an STR. I do not know anyone who can discuss sensitive details of this nature in 30 minutes or less - I am just saying. Okay, on 2/28, she called my phone at 3:31 pm; however, I was dealing with an issue for a client (because I own my own business), so I did not answer. She left a message, and I called her back at 3:32 pm. Okay, remember she previously stated in her email that she read through my file. So, when I was on the call with her, it was like she had not read through my file or tried to understand the root cause of the discharge. While reading through my file on the call, she read something that had nothing to do with the discharge and made a disparaging comment: “...I must have been still drunk when I made that statement.” Not getting into much detail, what type of person would make that statement if they were trying to assist? Also, she kept referring to herself as “we,” meaning the VA decision-makers. She also didn’t understand why the military did not have any details about my discharge in my STR, and that’s when I said, “Those are the questions you should be asking...” it was like I was thinking for her. I must have offended her because she did not do her due diligence. Needless to say, she tried to gaslight me, and yes, I am going to use the word gaslight in 2025, stating she can see I am upset with her and she doesn’t need this because she’s trying to help me and before she could even finish her statement about finding someone else, I hung up in her face. Now, as I noted earlier, I don’t know what type of individuals she’s used to dealing with, but 1. you will never try to gaslight me, and 2. you will never yell at me or bully me. She or whoever can respond to this post if they want, but I am speaking my truth to anyone seeking help. They can try to defend her actions, but there’s no defending what I encountered, and I didn’t even note the details of what we discussed due to the sensitive nature of posting online.

Reply from CaseSix Veterans Benefit Advocates

CaseSix appreciates the opportunity to respond to the recently received negative review. However, the review is unfair, as the veteran received an honest, professional, and zero-cost assessment of her case, along with clear guidance on the necessary steps for a successful VA claim.

Prior to the scheduled appointment, Rhonda dedicated hours to reviewing the veteran’s records and relevant regulations. While the case presents unique challenges and requires additional effort, a viable path forward remains with the proper supporting evidence.

At the start of the call, Rhonda outlined the challenges and hurdles associated with the claim and explained the specific criteria required to meet VA standards. During the discussion, the veteran expressed difficulty obtaining the necessary evidence, stating that she was unaware of the reason for her early discharge from the military. Rhonda advised the veteran to request her discharge records directly from the military—in this case, a critical and fundamental step in building a strong case.

Rather than acknowledging this guidance, the veteran became increasingly disrespectful, seemingly reacting as if Rhonda had the authority to alter VA rules and guidelines. The veteran then mocked Rhonda when her computer experienced a delay while retrieving a document relevant to their discussion. Despite this, Rhonda remained professional, listened to the veteran’s concerns, and calmly stated, “I can tell you’re upset with me, when I’m trying to help you.”

After additional derogatory and unwarranted remarks, Rhonda informed the veteran that the working relationship was not a good fit and suggested she seek another advocate better suited to her needs. The veteran responded by disconnecting the call.

Every VA claim is different, and in this case, Rhonda identified a feasible path to service connection. The veteran was provided with the necessary information to gather supporting evidence, ensuring that her claim would be ready for submission when she found a compatible advocate. Alternatively, she has the option to file the claim herself.

At CaseSix, the focus is on securing the best possible outcomes for our veterans, stopping only when no viable path forward remains. Rhonda, a VA claims expert with nearly four decades of experience, possesses extensive knowledge of the VA system, governing laws (including 38 CFR), and the procedures required to establish service-connected benefits.

As a good faith offer, if the veteran wishes to revisit her case, CaseSix remains open to further discussion. However, if she chooses otherwise, CaseSix sincerely wishes her success in securing the benefits she has earned and hopes she ultimately achieves service connection.
