I’m reluctant to give one star but there’s no option for 0 stars. This company is disgraceful. The service people in Krakow Poland were so rude to us both when we picked up the car and when we dropped it off. At drop-off, we were accused of leaving two scratches on the car, marks that were so minuscule they were almost invisible. You would need a microscope to see these marks so it was of course impossible for us to prove we had not created them. We believe the company makes their money by charging an initial low rental fee and then scamming money out of the customers by accusing them of damaging the car in a way that no one could prove or disprove. We suspect they do this more often to foreigners (like us) who cannot argue and have no recourse. That’s their business model. Do not use this company. We’ve never received this kind of treatment from any other car rental company. Be warned.

Our experience in Poland was quite awful. They had us waiting for the car two hours ( with four kids) and the delivery of the cars was run with in a very rude manner. Of course no apologies, no good afternoon, no thank you for using our service,...just unpleasant and unprofessional actitud towards us. They threatened us with charges and charges over any tinny damage or in case we do not wash the car ( inside and outside) .

If u wonna get scammed its really good place to go! I’m 100% sure they will try to scam u, trust me dont bother with this company. „the company is a base of fraudsters, if you do not buy insurance at a dizzying price you will be charged for damages you did not cause„ ;)

I was really worried about the reviews, it’s hard to work out if it’s only people with bad experiences that are likely to review rather than people that were merely satisfied. But I was cautious, I cleaned the car, returned with full tank even though I was given less and I asked their staff to come and check the car to end the contract. Because it was perfectly clean they were happy to do that. They closed the contract whilst i was there. Great prices. But maybe a sting at the end? Maybe they need to push their customers to review them so people will give reviews that are less polarising.

Also maybe if I hadn’t read the reviews I’d have stressed less and ended up with the same good experience.

Update after the comment below from Carwiz Team! I have contacted the "support" NUMEROUS times and all I got was either nothing or vague responses quoting the contract. Still no valid proof and now money had been taken from the credit card after sending an invoice at 8 min to midnight on the last working day of the month of the rental!

I rented a car from this company at Modlin Airport in May 2025. Despite returning the vehicle with no new damage and following their return procedure (after hours, using the key drop), I received an email the next morning claiming the car was damaged. The photos they sent were low quality, without any license plate or timestamp, and did not clearly prove the damage was even on the car I rented.

I requested clear documentation, a damage report, proof of inspection, and repair cost breakdown. None of this was provided, yet they still charged my card a significant amount without consent or verification.

The customer service response was dismissive, quoting contract terms but refusing to provide proper evidence. This is extremely concerning, especially for tourists or those returning cars outside of office hours.

I strongly advise others not to use this rental company!!!!

Unfortunately by the time we looked up this company on Trustpilot, it was already too late. If we had seen how low their ratings were, we would not have hired from them. We dropped off our car to an empty desk at the airport. As instructed we left the keys in the deposit box. Everything had seemingly gone smoothly. No problems had been encountered by us. So imagine our shock and dismay to arrive home to an email from Carwiz claiming 3 new scratches had appeared on the rear of the car since our pick up a week earlier. And that they would be charging us 350 euros for the repair of the same. How such an assessment could have been made just two hours after we had dropped off the keys to an empty desk is beyond me. This was also late on the Monday evening when it was already dark. All this despite the fact not a thing had happened to the car, during the week of our hire. When not been driven it was safely parked in an private underground car park the vast majority of the time. It would have taken a considerable effort to do any damage to it there. The photographs of the scratches sent to us were a joke. Miniscule and hairline, they could have been from any car of the same colour. Upon receiving this email, I replied completely refuting this claim. However no further follow up from Carwiz. We then looked up the company's ratings. At this stage a couple of months too late. In any case we found that our experience was far from uncommon. Hence the low ratings for this company. We strongly advise anyone to avoid using this company. We will be telling our Polish friends about it and also not to use Carwiz.

Avoid Carwiz Poland at All Costs – A Scam Operation Masquerading as a Car Rental Company

I feel compelled to warn others about Carwiz Poland, a company that appears to be built on a business model designed to defraud and extort customers. Our experience was nothing short of a scam.

We rented a vehicle riddled with scratches, dents, and superficial damages – so many that we were immediately suspicious. To protect ourselves, we took detailed video evidence of the car at pickup, documenting every existing issue. This precaution turned out to be necessary.

Upon return, Carwiz staff suddenly “discovered” a minor scratch they claimed wasn’t previously there. We immediately produced our video evidence, which clearly showed most of the existing damages they claimed weren’t there when we collected the car. But conveniently for them, they focused on one tiny, barely visible mark they insisted wasn’t in the footage – a nearly imperceptible blemish that could have easily been overlooked in their own documentation.

They knew we were pressed for time and facing a missed flight, yet they chose to hold us hostage over a microscopic mark in order to charge us an outrageous penalty (zł600). It became abundantly clear that this isn’t an isolated incident – it’s their modus operandi. They load customers into damaged vehicles and rely on obscure or unverifiable marks to extort money upon return.

This is not just bad customer service – this is a deliberate scam.

I will be formally challenging their disgraceful and predatory practices and urge anyone reading this: DO NOT RENT FROM CARWIZ POLAND. They are fraudsters, and the only way to stop this behavior is to expose them publicly. Save yourself the stress, financial loss, go elsewhere.

Great service. There was a problem with our payment, but it was solved with no hassle. Very well English speaking service. Car worked as expected

A very dangerous and unreliable company. Too bad I didn't read the reviews first. We arrived in the evening and they gave us a new car, we drove the car for 9 days smoothly, we didn't have any accidents or scratches, and we returned it exactly as we received it in new condition, just a little dusty, and when we arrived there was no representative to receive and inspect the car even though they stated that their branch in Krakow near the airport is open 24/7. When we got home we received an email about claiming the entire deposit and they took pictures of the scratches we had made on the entire car, I didn't even have anything to explain to the insurance company because it's clear that they're doing a combination, taking pictures of another car of the same type and changing the license plate, in short they charged us 4400 PLN and it was clear that it was because we had insurance. They are not reliable and fair, although they advertise cheap prices to attract attention, but if we hadn't taken out external comprehensive insurance we would have paid dearly. I don't recommend them, I saw that people wrote bad reviews and it's clear why, it's just a shame I didn't read it before, it's worth paying more money and renting from reputable companies and not through them.

I did similar to the other people in the reviews. I took insurance from booking.com and then rented a small car from them. The car was in perfect condition, no scratches, and or other problems.

Coming to claim the car, there was no one at the desk, this is because the employees constantly bring the cars to the drop off in front of the hotel. Therefore we waited for a while, but they came quickly enough when i called on whatsapp, the number is on the desk.

The drop off is tight and inconvenient, i feel like i was lucky with taxis competing for space, i had to do 2 turns of the one way to find a spot.

I returned the car without any damages and refueled. I was a bit stressed because of the reviews i saw online, but my deposit was freed. I therefore didnt have any problems with them.

It is with great disappointment that I must report my experience with Carwiz, which raises serious concerns about transparency and customer protection in the car rental sector.

I arranged my rental through Carjet and, anticipating the usual challenges, opted for full insurance coverage. Upon arrival at Wrocław Airport, I was surprised to find that Carwiz’s vehicles were not located in the designated rental area alongside the major providers, but rather in an obscure section of a long-term parking lot. No representative accompanied me to inspect the vehicle — a basic standard in most reputable operations. Nevertheless, I accepted the keys in good faith.

After using the vehicle without incident and returning it two weeks later — at which point the staff were courteous and noted no issues — I believed the matter concluded.

However, at 11:00 PM that evening, I received an email containing two low-quality photos and an invoice for €1,200, alleging damage to the lower plastic step (known as a “próg” in Polish). No prior inspection, no conversation, and no opportunity to clarify — just an automated charge.

My subsequent attempts to contact Carwiz were met with complete silence. Emails went unanswered, and with my return flight departing in the early hours, direct dialogue was impossible. Repeated follow-ups were ignored. The entire handling of the situation suggests a troubling pattern: the claim appears to have been manufactured simply because they knew I had insurance coverage.

This is not merely a customer service failure — it is a warning sign. When companies are allowed to operate without oversight or accountability, consumers are left vulnerable.

I strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution when dealing with Carwiz and, by extension, intermediaries like Carjet who do not step in to protect their clients.

My second rental with Carwiz, first directly, second via Ryanair, and no problems whatsoever. Both from Wroclaw Airport. Will definitely use again! Quite surprised by all these negative feedbacks though, not sure if the pick up location has anything to do with it 🤔 Employees at Wroclaw Airport keep up the good work 👍

To be honest I didn't have any issues with this company in the past, it was smooth proccess every time I rented from them, but...
I rented a battered Toyota Yaris (has not been cleaned before renting to me, with many dents and scratches). Now they are trying to charge me 250 euros for a 2cm long door scratch.. I am quite sure I didnt damage the car in anyway.
Don't touch , even with a stick. Smelly, dirty, battered cars are waiting for you.
Make a credit card charge back claim with your bank!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE – DISHONEST COMPANY!

NEVER BOOK WITH THIS AGENCY! SCAMMERS AND THIEVES!

On April 17th, 2025, we rented a car at Krakow Balice Airport through Carwiz Rent a Car – Parking TINA. We had booked well in advance, but when we arrived at 1:00 AM (as previously confirmed), no one was there to meet us. After several phone calls, they finally sent a shuttle… only to tell us that the car we had reserved was not available.

We were forced to take a more expensive vehicle, with no choice, no explanation – they simply took advantage of the situation. They blocked €1270 on our credit card, even though our confirmed booking clearly stated €1200. When we questioned it, we were told that "what the online agency says doesn’t matter." Unbelievable.

We had also purchased full insurance online during the booking process, but they refused to accept it, claiming it was invalid, and forced us to pay more for their coverage.

At drop-off, even though the car was in perfect condition, washed and clean, they tried very hard to find any tiny scratch to charge us extra. Luckily, my husband had filmed and taken plenty of photos of the car at night when we picked it up, so we were able to prove there was no damage.

Their behavior was dishonest, arrogant, and manipulative. One of their employees even laughed in our faces.

We travel all over the world, my husband is a doctor, and we’ve never been treated this poorly anywhere. We demand a formal apology from this so-called company and want to warn all travelers: STAY AWAY from them! They operate like a legalized mafia.

My experience coincides with these of others here. We were given a smaller car type than we agreed to in our contract.

But that was the minor issue. A week after my return I received a damage invoice of several hundred euro which was withhold from our deposit. On the photos there was barely to see anything. And as you should park the car on the open street without any employee or video surveillance anything can happen in the mean time.

It soon got obvious that these charges were purely fictional and a key componant of their business case...

Booking.com is misleading with good reviews.

I had a very disappointing experience with Carviz Warsaw, and I want to share my story to warn others about renting a car from this company. I rented a Toyota Corolla hybrid for six days from the Courtyard Marriott Hotel near Chopin Airport.

The rental agent, Piotr O., threatened me and several other female customers, warning us about the consequences of not purchasing car insurance through him, even though I had already bought rental insurance through booking.com. He insisted that it was a great deal at 140 euros, discounted from 180 euros, in addition to the rental fee of $260.

When I returned the car, no one was available to inspect the vehicle, so I dropped off the keys. Later, I was charged for supposedly not refueling the vehicle, which I find unreasonable given the circumstances. An additional charge of 156 zloty (approximately $42) was added for fuel filling, although I had already refueled the car.

In total, I ended up paying around $460 for a basic economy car rental for six days. I urge others to be cautious and aware of the predatory tactics used by this car rental company.
