Horrible company and poor customer…
Horrible company and poor customer service experience. I have a few pieces from “Cartier” but the episode happened on my Panther watch. Basically I found out that Cartier doesn’t even change the battery of your quartz watch for free, when is out of warranty. The worst service ever, that should be a lifetime service, for free, but not at Cartier. I own Omega watches as well amazing customer service, maybe the best, I own Rolex same. This is the second time I had such a bad experience with Cartier, the other time i needed to fix a ring from Cartier and they basically refused the service. I really don’t write reviews but this time I really had to do that. The Cartier shop I’m referring to is in Las Vegas at the Crystals Shopping center.
Don’t get me wrong, the sells associate was very nice but I’m talking about Cartier policy. Sorry, very disappointing!

I bought the LOVE bracelet, worst company ever
I bought the LOVE bracelet before christmas on their website it said buy now and receive before Christmas. That was Red Flag #1, I did not receive until Dec. 28.
When I opened it the screwdriver was no where to be found but in a pouch moving around.
My wife put it on for 5 min. and the other side of the hinge came apart. I sent it in the Tuesday, finally Jan 14 we hear back and says it has been denied of defective and can not be returned due to scratches.
I have pictures of the bracelet and have no scratches. How can the hinge come apart after 5 min.?
They are a joke of a company and currently pursuing legal action.
$$$$ Repairs
Cartier stated they could not repair the worn clasp on my wife's Cartier Love Bracelet. They offered a "reproduction" for over $1000. So, they designed something for $$$$ and then planned to get another $$$$ due to designed worn parts. The bracelet was not abused in any way. The clasp was designed to wear and fail. I will not purchase jewelry from Cartier any longer. Caveat emptor.

Appalling customer service and a “no can do attitude”
Both my partner and I repeatedly shopped at Cartier, but this was certainly the last time. Appalling customer service and a “no can do attitude” now summarises the Cartier brand. No wonder that more than 80% of the reviews are 1 star reviews..
My partner purchased a Cartier ring for me as Christmas present. Sadly, the ring does not suit my hands, so we went to the store (a few days after the purchase, with the ring never been worn, and with the red tag intact) to return it for a refund. The store deputy manager refused to refund, due to their store policy. The only option offered was to give us store credit, which expires after 6 months!
I contacted customer service to log in a complaint, the next day I received a voicemail from the store manager advising that “we’re sorry, but we don’t offer refunds”.
We will never shop at Cartier again out of principle.

Great experience every time
I’ve always had a great experience with their customer service and returns. There are so many bad reviews that nearly put me off but I’ve never had a problem with them.

I have been Cartier customer for 35… Thank you for your reply appreciated I have called * emailed.
I have been Cartier customer for 35 years. For the 1st time I shopped @ San Diego Boutique in April 24,24. I purchase two Love bracelet it was heavy & started to cause pain & bruising my arm I went back & showed to the sells person called client manager many times. The manager of boutique suggested to pay 40% for each LB we will put a hinge & it will take serval months. Cost almost the price of Love bracelet. Never had this kind of experience in Canada or Europe. I truly regret my expensive purchase. As I can see there is many complaint used to be a good company now over priced & quality does not appear to be good. " Cartier continues to work with the customer to resolve this matter to the customer's satisfaction." This is not true! I am sad writing this review I own many Cartier item. I don't think will be shopping in San Diego any more. It seems customer often gets blame for scratches even though bracelet is new?

Poor Customer Service
Ordered a Love Ring (shown as in stock) almost two weeks before Christmas. On Friday 20 December (delivery date) I received an email telling me that the order was being cancelled due to lack of stock. Absolutely disgraceful customer service, not offered anything to remedy the situation. Really, really poor having ordered Cartier for the last few years. Wish I had gone with Van Cleef!!!

So disappointing
Over the years, my husband has purchased tens of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry for me at Cartier. At a conference in Las Vegas, I purchased a Cartier Juste un Clou ring. My husband had purchased the bracelet for me a year prior. I wore the ring out of the store and by the time I got back to the hotel, I felt it looked a little too “matchy.” I put it back in the box once I returned to the hotel and four days later I tried to return it to Cartier in Boca Raton, Florida. A whole team of “managers” came out with their white gloves and loops, and said the ring was terribly scratched. Believe me the ring was pristine. Be very careful if you buy anything in a Cartier boutique. if you walk out the door and turn around and walk back in, and say you changed your mind about the item, they will say that you scratched the item while walking! I will never spend another penny on this brand ever again. Shame on you Cartier. Your brand is all smoke and mirrors.

I purchased a top for my son on the 27th October. It has still not arrived and despite numerous emails requesting a refund, I have had no response. Non existent customer service. Will never buy from them again!!!!
I brought in my watch to have a battery…
I brought in my watch to have a battery change and after receiving an estimate for work worth $2000.00, none of which referenced that it was broken, just to fix links and change a face due to discoloration, Cartier rejected changing the simple battery because I declined the rework. Prior to this call I made, I had called and asked someone to contact me, they never did and I had to call multiple times to find out they would not change the battery.
Hopefully it will not be lost when they ship it back to me after

Appalling quality and data breach BEWARE AND AVOID
Both my husband and I have Cartier Tank watches. They need to regularly go back to Cartier every couple of years for hundreds of pounds of work. This should not happen if the watches were of good quality. They say things are covered by warranty then email asking for more money. I was even told it was recommended my watch have a new quartz movement upgrade (at 7 years old) this is a joke
Also last week I received 2 shipping kits out of the blue. One was to return my watch (which was already with Cartier) the second was from Van Cleef and Arples (part of Cartier) addressed to me but inside were the complete details of another customer showing what they owned, their name, address, email address etc. this is appalling. I brought it to both Van Cleef and Arples and Cartiers attention. I requested the other person whose data had been breached was told but I was just told to destroy the information by Van Cleef and Arples. Cartier said they would look into. I have not heard back. It is appalling customer data was breached like this

Brought a Cartier braclet from Harrods
Brought a Cartier braclet from Harrods as a one off special Xmas present for my wife who’s had a really tough few years. When it came I was super excited as she had always dreamed of owning one. When it came it was the wrong size (I’d ordered it too small!). I re packed the braclet after having out for less than a minute and sent it back to Harrods via their return service hoping to get a full refund. The plan was then to re-order the right size ready for my wife Xmas present after a tough few years. Harrods then contacted me via email and stated the braclet was damaged and hence they could not accept the return ? and that it has a significant scratch preventing resale ? I cannot for the life of me understand what has happened as there is no way this happened whilst the braclet was in my possession ( I opened the package knelt down and on my carpeted floor). Harrods whilst polite are now saying tough luck and want to return it to me as Cartier will not accept it. I’m now left with an expensive item, no gift for my wife and I didn’t cause the damage….really disappointed with Cartier and Harrods.

Unprofessional Service
Yesterday, I visited Harrods, London to purchase another Cartier ring and, unfortunately, my experience was not as expected. While the selection of pieces was lovely, I found the service to be less than professional.
The sales associate who assisted me with selecting the size and model appeared disengaged, and her body language and overall demeanor did not reflect the standard of service one typically associates with a luxury brand.
I hope this feedback can help ensure a more pleasant experience for future customers.
Poor Customer Services.
After writing a negative Trust Pilot review following a recent watch service I was advised to contact customer services. I have done this by email and a week later still have received no response. Poor.
Do not even think to buy Cartier…
In my family we have 10 Cartier watches. 5 of them fail frequently. While the design of case is very nice, which is what sells the watches, the quality of Cartier movement is horrible. Not only they are not accurate at all, but they totally fail frequently. I have many cheap watches and not a single one ever failed in 30 years.
So, what is going on with Cartier? Are they so incompetent that they buying the cheapest movement in market or are they intentionally providing poor movements in order to feed their “service” business?!…
Cartier pretends their watches are very expensive and delicate mechanism that require regular “service”. This is in fact a very lucrative business for Cartier since any service is from 400-500$ and up!!
I never “serviced” any of my other watches, not the expensive ones and not ones I bought for less than 50$! Not once, and they are still working perfectly.
I contacted the Cartier USA CEO, to complain about the poor quality of the watches and horrible service I received from their store in San Jose.
Mr Bolognino special assistant, contacted me and begged me give her a chance and to let her take care of 2 watches that keep failing… “… let me do it right for you…”
Today, more than 2 months later she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and I still cannot get my watches back.
Do not even think to buy a Cartier watch ever!!
Do not buy from Cartier - cheap jewelry that they market as luxury items.
I bought an item for my girlfriend and it came in already scratched. I have reached out to the company 5 times now to try to resolve the problem, but I have not heard back or had any luck.
I have called customer service 3 times and emailed different people within the organization. Cartier charges money for premium jewelry when it is in fact made from cheap materials. Extremely disappointed in this company and will not purchase from them again.
See my email to Cartier below.
'This is now the 5th time I am reaching out to provide feedback on my Cartier order. I purchased this engraved Trinity ring for my girlfriend for our one year anniversary and was dismayed when I opened the package to find that the ring already had scratches on all 3 of the different bands.
Believing that Cartier was a company of integrity, I reached out to your customer service team to explain the situation and try to come to a resolution that would work for all parties involved. I spoke with Sebastian on your customer service team, and was thoroughly unimpressed with his customer service skills.
After explaining the situation to him, he said he was 'sorry' that the ring came scratched, but because it was made of 3 different bands, that this was bound to happen. This brings up another issue, as nowhere on your website product page does it say that the Trinity ring, medium model, is 3 separate rings. If I had known this, I would not have purchased this specific item.
Sebastian then went on to tell me that because I had the ring engraved, that is the reason why it was delivered already scratched, as engraving the product caused the bands to rub against each other. I did not appreciate the customer service representative placing the blame on me, for an issue that is in no way my fault.
If the engraving was the cause of the scratches, then this too should have been communicated on the website. If I had known that engraving the ring was going to cause it to come already scratched, I would not have had it engraved. This too calls into question your process of engraving your jewelry; I wonder how many other customers have had similar experiences after shopping at Cartier.
Finally, Sebastian tells me that because it was engraved there is nothing we can do about returning or exchanging the ring. Please tell me how this is fair? For a ring that is invoiced at $3,041.84, I would expect to receive a quality product that would 'exceed the limits of excellence' and be made of the 'highest quality', as Cartier's company vision states. Instead, I received an already scratched ring that looks as if it is 10 years old. It seems as if your products are made with materials of very poor quality and that your company does not care.
As I was expecting to purchase a Cartier product that was a 'timeless piece' and 'destined to last', I want to voice my displeasure with the products that your company sells. I would appreciate a response to this email within 48 hours so that we can come to an agreement on how best to resolve this problem.'

Should have invested in a Van Cleef instead
I spoke with one of their associates on the phone, TWICE, to ask if they would allow an exchange for an item that was purchased internationally, she said yes and that their policy allows for such exchanges.
I drove into the city after work on a cold and rainy day, only to be told that they could not facilitate an exchange due to a silly technicality. HONOR WHAT YOU TELL PEOPLE ON THE PHONE AND DON’T WASTE THEIR PRECIOUS TIME!

Knotted chain on delivery
My partner received a white gold diamond bracelet yesterday and on opening the signature red box, the chain fell out. It had not been properly secured and as a result the chain was knotted. Not what you would expect from a supposedly class company. It was quite upsetting for partner as she was very anxious to wear it. I resolved to undo the knot with the aid of a pin and tweezers, but despite my best efforts, it took four hours to eventually remove the knot.
I rang customer service this morning to complain and explain that I did not expect to find a brand new bracelet in this condition and asked for some consideration, but apparently it is not Cartiers policy to compensate under any circumstances. For me, this will be my first and last purchase

Cartier is a Nightmare – Their Return Process Feels Like a Scam. Avoid This Brand at All Costs!
If I could rate Cartier with zero stars, I would. This brand might present itself as the pinnacle of luxury, but my recent experience with their appalling customer service reveals a very different reality. The way they handle returns is a disgrace, and after some research, I discovered that my situation is far from unique.
I ordered a Cartier Love Ring in good faith, only to find it was the wrong size. I tried it on just to check the fit, realized it didn’t work, then immediately repacked it according to Cartier’s instructions and arranged for DHL to pick it up. The entire process took less than 10 minutes, and I handled the ring with extreme care. But when Cartier received the ring, they accused me of scratching and damaging it – a completely baseless claim.
Despite my clear explanations that the ring never touched any hard surface, Cartier’s response was nothing short of insulting. They repeatedly implied that I was lying, claiming their jewelry is inspected before shipment and was supposedly “in perfect condition” when it left Cartier. However, every time I asked for proof of this so-called pristine condition, they came up empty-handed. Instead, they chose to drag out this issue with passive-aggressive and accusatory emails, subjecting me to weeks of back-and-forth, all while withholding over £1200 of my own money.
After weeks of stress, endless emails, and calls, Cartier finally issued a refund – but only after putting me through an ordeal that felt more like punishment than customer service. And here’s the disturbing part: after doing some research, I realized I’m not the only one. There are countless reports from other customers online who’ve been through the exact same nightmare with Cartier’s returns process. This seems like an ongoing scam, where Cartier is quick to accuse customers of damage, hoping to avoid refunds and trap customers in weeks of stress.
This is not how a luxury brand behaves. Cartier’s conduct was hostile, arrogant, and blatantly disrespectful – completely at odds with the image they claim to uphold. They’re more interested in deflecting blame onto their customers than in supporting them, and their refusal to provide any real evidence of their claims is deeply suspicious.
To anyone considering Cartier: don’t be fooled by the brand’s reputation. Their so-called “luxury” service is a thin façade, hiding a company that’s ready to stonewall and accuse their customers at every turn. Save yourself the stress, the loss of funds, and the frustration, and take your business to a company that actually respects its customers. Cartier is not the luxury name it claims to be – it’s a scam dressed up in a designer label. Avoid this brand at all costs.
