Firstly, we would like to note that the order was placed on Harmony Beds, while this review has been published under Carter & Lewis, which is our mattress brand and does not sell beds. The two brands are separate entities. This may understandably cause confusion for other customers reading the review.
I have contacted our sister brand Harmony Beds asking them for a full report. Regarding the statement “the bed was made the day before delivery”, this is not factually correct. Their beds are handcrafted to order as part of a scheduled production process and are not manufactured the day before dispatch.
Concerning the materials used, they would like to reassure you that their beds are constructed from high-quality timber, not plywood. This is a core part of our manufacturing standards and is consistent across their entire range.
In relation to the ottoman structure and base, their website gallery clearly shows that this model is designed with a solid flat base, not a metal slatted frame. This construction is standard within divan ottoman production and is widely regarded as a superior and more durable solution.
With respect to the headboard, they sincerely apologise for the error in the studding. This was a minor issue that could have been easily corrected by their artisans had they been given the opportunity, and they regret that this was not resolved for you.
Following the return, the bed was fully inspected at their factory, and no structural defects were found. It is therefore possible that this was a change of mind after completion of the order on your behalf. That said, they promptly honoured your right of withdrawal, responding within the required timeframe and issuing a full refund within 24 hours. By acting immediately, they also ensured that you avoided additional courier return costs, in line with our clearly stated sales conditions.
They also apologise on behlf of the external delivery driver who left the packaging in your bedroom. While deliveries are handled by external couriers, they fully acknowledge this lapse and regret the inconvenience caused.
Harmony Beds always strives to act fairly and quickly, and believe that their immediate response and refund reflect this commitment. While they have reviewed your public review history and noted a predominance of negative feedback, we nevertheless respect every customer’s right to share their opinion.
