Customer service helpful and polite
Customer service helpful and polite.
They stuck to the estimate they gave me. The online dvla link makes things very easy and smooth. They collected the car and I didn't need to be there, that was very helpful.
Quick and easy
Quick and easy. Rang next day after quote was put online, went through necessary questions and gave me the quote over the phone. Arranged delivery day which was within a couple of days. Gent picked up on time and text before arrival. Money was in bank within the hour. A PERFECT. Service from the phone call to the pick up.
Great service
Great service . Sorted it all out for me with no issues. Would reccomend it.
Very easy process
Booked in and the collection was completed and payment made the next day. Such a simple and easy way to scrap and the highest quote I found online. The gentleman that collected was friendly and polite, would definitely recommend.

From my first phone call to Chris then further calls to organise things the whole thing was made so easy. It was sad to get rid of my poor old car but Cartakeback took the pain out of the process. Thanks everyone.
Very happy with service but got time…
Very happy with service but got time and date of collection wrong thankfully I was at home
Fantastic service
Fantastic service, the car was picked up on time. I was telephoned in advance with specific time for pick up. The payment for the car was very smooth and the a full amount quoted.
First class service, I would definitely recommend and would use again.
Good value for money
On the phone the man that answered was a little aggressive but the lovely man that came and got my old car was amazing. Such a lovely man too talk to . Very polite and professional and extremely friendly. They paid me the next morning. Fantastic
I’m very unhappy about the payment
I’m very unhappy about the payment. The promised payment was £350 when I called and booked the collection, then they took the car from me and after couple of hours they said there is some problem for the car and can give only £120 or I should take the car myself back which is not possible so I’m locked up there and accepted the payment of £120. But I’m sure this is a scam. I will leave a review on your website and let all my friends and family know about this and make them aware. So no thanks

Why??
Reading the reviews it seems that Cartakeback do not honour their agreement. I was offered £600.00 for our car and this was excepted by both Cartakeback and myself. They emailed saying
"Your car will be collected and you'll get £600."
On phoning them to arrange collection the amount was reduced to £200.00.
I feel that this does not honour the agreement, if the following had been add "subject to inspection of the vehicle)" after the £600 I would have understood but after a phone call I was referred to to text further down the email.
The text "Your car will be collected and you'll get £600." was in bold and a blue box on its own. below a graph stating 4 points -Quote-excepted-arranged-collected. Nothing about inspected?
thank you for your reply BUT why was there NO mention of the fact that there would be a further investigation just arrange collection and payment of the £600 sorry answer does not give a reason WHY???

£1,600 quote accepted, then reduced to £300
I used CarTakeBack because the website presents itself as a way to get an instant scrap car quote. I entered my details and was initially shown a price of around £1,000. After answering further questions about the car’s condition, including whether it started and drove, I later received an email from CarTakeBack confirming:
“I can confirm that £1,600 is the best price for your car.”
The email said this was based on the condition details I had provided and invited me to update anything before I accepted. I accepted the £1,600 quote in good faith.
Instead of collection being arranged at that price, I was contacted by a third-party company who asked more questions and said they would come back with a price. When I explained I had already accepted the £1,600 quote, they told me that figure was apparently a salvage price, not a scrap price, and that the scrap value would be closer to £100–£200. Three days later, I was offered £300.
I found this extremely misleading. The CarTakeBack website repeatedly talks about scrap car quotes, best scrap prices, and accepting a quote before collection is arranged. The email I received also clearly stated that £1,600 was the best price for my car. At no point was it made clear to me that this was only a provisional salvage valuation, subject to a later third-party reassessment, or that the actual offer might be hundreds of pounds lower.
If there is a distinction between a confirmed scrap quote and a conditional salvage valuation, that needs to be stated prominently before customers accept. In my case, I believed I had accepted a confirmed £1,600 offer, only to be offered £300 afterwards.

Very efficient and easy to arrange
Very efficient, easy to arrange. Driver called ahead of exact arrival time, was very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Dishonest Time wasters
Time wasters! I gave full information on the web-site including that it was an MoT Fail. They sent an e-mail saying “Your car will be collected and you will get £422”. No ifs or buts, or “subject to further checks” etc. They phoned this morning and offered £122. When I reminded them of the £422 they’d told me they’d pay they reluctantly upped it to £200. What a waste of time. I call that dishonest and misleading. Avoid them.

Failed to turn up at the scheduled time for vehicle collection, and not only did your driver not arrive, but no one bothered to call to update me.
After waiting all day, I had to chase you myself and was promised a call back that never happened. I took a day’s holiday to accommodate your collection window - a complete waste of my time.
First impressions? Utterly disappointing.
