Scam website

Scam website. DO NOT USE.
As others have said, you’ll get a phone call from a potential buyer who will then ask you to do a vehicle history report using this website. As soon as this happens to me I checked trustpilot and found others had the same experience.

Attempted scam through fake car‑check request

I recently listed my car for sale on AutoTrader and was contacted by someone pretending to be a genuine buyer. They asked me to run a “car check” on my own vehicle using CarCheckPro.co.uk before they would view it.

The site charges around £40–£60 per search, and the person tried to make it sound like a normal step in the buying process. However, this is not standard practice — legitimate buyers never ask sellers to pay for a report on their own car.

After checking the website and comparing it with trusted services like AutoTrader and HPI, it became clear this was an attempted scam. The goal seems to be to trick sellers into paying small amounts that add up across many listings.

I didn’t lose money, but I’m posting this review to warn others. If you’re selling a car and someone insists you use CarCheckPro.co.uk or similar sites, do not pay — it’s a waste of time and money. Always use recognised platforms like AutoTrader or HPI for vehicle checks.

Potential scam

Potential scam.

As per other reviews, someone got in touch with me via Autotrader. All was going well until they started insisting that I use this specific site to run a check for the buyer insisting that carcheckpro "values privacy".
Do not ever agree to run a check for the Buyer, they can do it themselves with just the reg number.

SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT

I placed an Ad to sell my car on Autotrader and then I got a normal purchase call. After arriving to see the car. He ask for a report from that fake website and mentioned that his mechanic wanted to see it.
I suggested to get the buyer a report from another well known website for only £11 but he insisted on that specific website and sent a very strange message.
I quote him
"But its not about the money its a matter of satisfaction the company I mentioned is legitimate and authentic UK company and they're registered with british government and have SSL and DLSS certificate on it"

Why on earth as a normal car buyer would you insist on car check website in that way.

I told him if you need that specific website send me the money and I will do it for you.
