Staff in branch are great (Cannock especially). The preparation team needs improvement.
First of all, you need to understand that Carsa’s prices are low, and low prices come at a cost.
They do not have a large customer care/aftersales team available on the phone—which is what you really want when your car develops a fault. Instead, they operate a ticketing system that works, but isn't the most human experience. They also turn over a high volume of vehicles, which clearly puts immense pressure on their preparation team.
Carsa's model revolves around centralising prep in Southampton before shipping cars out to regional branches for handover. The branch staff aren't responsible for prep—they simply handle the sale and handover. When a poorly prepped car arrives, branch staff bear the brunt of customer frustration, which is particularly unfair when a customer has travelled.
I waited two months after reserving while various issues were supposedly sorted. However, on collection day, some of these faults were still present.
To give an idea of the attention to detail: after carsa replaced a window regulator, the driver’s door card was left with three missing clips and three broken ones, leaving it flapping when the door shut. I sorted it myself, but sending a car out in that state highlights a weak final quality sign-off. The car was also supplied with a fresh, clean MOT (conducted by carsa) —despite having clear items that should have been flagged as advisories.
What saved this from being a 1-star review was Matt and Evie in the customer care team. The car developed an air suspension fault (present at handover, but only obvious after the car sat stationary while I was on holiday). I arranged a specialist diagnosis at a very fair rate for Carsa. After a lot of email chasing and legwork on my end, Carsa agreed to cover the repair. It wasn't cheap, and while it is ultimately Carsa's legal responsibility, getting it approved was far from an easy process.
I do feel consumer rights are unfair on a seller of a used cars and do need amendment but ultimately it is the law that exists currently and this needs to be an easier process.
Carsa offers great prices and a wide selection, but you must manage your expectations with any supermarket model.
If you expect a flawless used car, you need to pay a premium at a smaller local dealer with the time to prep meticulously.
A cheap perfect used car is a mythical beast that does not exist.
Would I buy from Carsa again? Yes. Used car buying is rarely painless, but ultimately, I am happy with the car and the price I paid.

I enquired about a vehicle with Carsa and was promptly contacted and provided with all of the information I needed. I attended on the day, was promptly greeted by Cameron who was friendly and professional from the outset. Two hours later (if that!) I was ready to walk out with a new car having done a test drive and completed the respective part exchange and paperwork. A fantastic service and a brilliant professional service provided by Cameron

Bought a vehicle , sight unseen , based on description and assurances of it being a one previous owner then travelled 3hrs to collect . Condition wasn’t as good as described , no reduction in price was possible, one private owner was confirmed by sales manager on site so I proceeded with purchase . On receiving the V5 from DVLA I found out the car had actually got 2 previous owners so contacted Carsa to complain & was told by the manager that it was because I was now the 2nd owner !!! I then raised a formal complaint with the company & expressed my concern that I had been mis sold the car was purchased by them with a V5 stating 1 former keeper , when I pointed out that that V5 would of stated 1 former keeper & the current keeper making 2 previous keepers at the point of sale they didn,t reply and stated that they couldn’t confirm that the vehicle had not previously been a hire or lease vehicle !! The moral here is do not believe the details this company give you either verbally or advertised. I would definitely not recommend them .
