Carron Phoenix is best known for its sink manufacturing these days but we can trace our roots back to 1759 when The Carron Company was founded as an iron foundry in Falkirk.

i brought this Carron Phoenix stainless steel sink back in the middle of November 2025, collected it in the 17th, it wasn`t installed until the end of Nov.
3 weeks later i started to see marks appear on the drainer, over the weekend of the 20/21 Dec the marks became apparent it was rust, iam not very happy with this as this item will now have to be removed and replaced and should be done so at Carron Phoenix expense .....

Terrible quality stainless steel sink.
Within days of having it installed there are loads of watermarks, scratches and bluey streaks. Have complained to Wickes who installed. Only advice from supplier was to use vinegar and water and CIF. Have tried both and no improvement. I even tried oil. But as soon as use water to wipe down the stains show again.

Had a new stainless steel Carron Phoenix sink installed in our utility room about 12 months ago. It has a number of rust marks on it and whilst Cif dulls them it doesn’t remove them. This is the recommendation of the company’s customer services when reported with images.
Have now found that where the hand soap bottle has stood there are corrosion marks which again dull with Cif but the damage and marks remain.
This expensive sink is not as good a quality as the cheap sink we had before and was much harder wearing, no rust after 30 years.
I cannot recommend this product and the companies response astounds me. They agree that as installed in the utility room with little use, the product is still deemed as new!
Very poor and wouldn’t buy one of their products again.
I have not used my new sink yet and it appears to be water marked that I can't remove!
Also the mixer tap! Awful stainless steel!

I did a lot if research on black sinks and decided, because of excellent reviews, on a 1 bowl Franke sink. I bought, paid and arranged the plumber to fit it only to notice the metal name plate, which is on the draining board, was blank, unlike my sons sink which quite clearly reads Franke. I checked my receipt, which clearly states that I had indeed purchased a Franke sink but on the paperwork inside the box says it is a Carron sink. I am very annoyed by this and will be complaint to wickes customer services as this is blatantly misleading to the purchaser.

The sink stains so easily, no cleaners will clean it properly. I can't find anyone who could repolish it to see if that restores it. Absolutely awful rubbish, do not buy these sinks. I wish I'd gone for a cheap stainless sink at least they shine when you clean them.

We moved into our new build nearly 4 years ago and part of the build was we upgraded (loose term) our kitchen to include a Carron Seraphina Hot Tap. Worst thing we ever did and complete waste of money. Filters are supposed to last/be replaced arguably at 6 months. We live in a very soft water area and we are lucky if we get 2 weeks out of a filter before water is coming out of the tap at andribble. Get no joy from manufacturer who say it’s our water issue. We now hear an air sound from the system pretty much all the time and if we have the shut off fully open we can hear the water going down the inbuilt overflow (I think it is). To make the tap economically viable (new filters are in excess of £40 each) we have 2 filters that we rotate every 2 weeks or so. Once removed filter is fully dry it tends to work a bit for that 2 weeks period then needs changed. All that has been offered is the chance to purchase a more free flowing filter that is available via manufacturer but again expensive. No offer of maybe one to try and see if it works better with our layout. To compound matters when I go to replace the filter now and have switched everything off and closed off the water inlet, water still comes out where the filter sits so I have to be super quick to avoid water all over the place. We have contacted manufacturer countless times and have had no joy whatsoever really.

We have a carron phoenix stainless sink fitted in our property, well I say stainless very loosely as it is absolutely terrible, the slightest drop of water and after sink has been filled with water it leaves a tide mark. The tide mark rings start with dull, then blue hue, then dark bits. The main issue we have is the way it’s manufactured as each corner is extremely sharp which I have cut my fingers on multiple times whilst cleaning the darn thing. Why is this sink manufactured so poorly and how can you pass sharp edges through your quality control system? this is not good enough and is very dangerous, I look forward to your response/explanation.

We had a 10 year old Carron Phoenix stainless steel sink which has been great, but the clip rail became detached from the main sink, meaning it was no longer fixed to the worksurface. After realising they provide a lifetime guarantee (but having little hope) I contacted them. Within a week they have sent out a new sink free of charge and a contribution to installation. This is really first rate customer service and I'm massively impressed!

We have had a Carron Phoenix dual bowl stainless steel sink fitted in our new kitchen. This was only installed two weeks ago, and it already looks dull and dirty. The sink colour is different from the plug and waste hole: sink metal appears blue! I'm very nervous of using proprietary cleaners in case it damages the surface. I hope that you can offer a resolution, as this has tainted the enjoyment of our new kitchen.

Recently bought a house in Wexford Ireland which had a carron phoenix Instant hot water system was not working properly so I contacted a number of plumbers and a plumping supply company no one wanted to even look at it. The tank seems to be leaking yet the system is probably under 5 years old . The agency for the company told me I could replace the whole system which I would have great difficulty or no chance of getting someone to install or service don’t waste your money

Despite the fact that last time the Company got 1 star from me, this time i rate it 5! Customer service contacted me promptly and quickly found the way to solve the problem. Substantive, profesional and caring attitude towards the customer - this is what some other companies could learn from them. Thanks to Jonny Haines for his thorough analysis of the issue and his understanding of consumer rights.

BEWARE read the below. I am totally disgusted with their replies. Very similar to the previous negative review.
I will escalate this to the small claims court now and Carron Pheonix can defend it or not as they please.
Anyway, judge yourself.
ME
On 20/03/14, I received my Carron Phoenix ZX150 inset black granite sink from you direct. Please see the below delivery note.
Despite adhering to your cleaning instructions, it is stained or marked as you can see in the accompanying photos. Try as I may I can not remove the marks and this includes you advice to use diluted bleach on the sink over night.
I would make a warranty claim for a similar replacement please.
REPLY
Thank you for your email although we are sorry to hear you have a problem with your Carron Phoenix sink.
From the information we have available we can see that this sink was a free of charge replacement for a previous warranty claim which had the case ref. FKS-355.
It doesn't look like Carron Phoenix were provided with the proof of purchase for the sink you were claiming for in 2014 so the replacement sink was supplied as a goodwill gesture because the original sink had cracked.
ME
You’re quite right, the original sink was purchased from Magnets, Seafield Road, Inverness in 2000/01.
From memory, it was replaced with the present one in 2014 after a valid lifetime claim.
I’ve had a look at the emails from that time, but I can’t verify it was a goodwill gesture or not. I am also struggling to recall details of the original receipt and whether that was or wasn’t available.
Now with the passage of time, I doubt even if I had it that I would have retained it as the original sink was gone and I wouldn’t have seen the point to be honest. I also doubt if Magnets records are kept for what would be 23 years.
However I do retain the original photos of the sink and production stickers on the bottom of it that I sent your customer services at the time, which corroborated and was identified as being your product. Therefore making a receipt or lack of it redundant for all intents and purposes.
I do appreciate what you say, but to ask for a receipt for the original item that led to the replacement sink that itself has now discoloured is unexpected.
Irrespective of that, what is not in dispute is the origins of the present sink, which is a Carron Phoenix product, which either has a lifetime warranty or it doesn’t.
I’d obviously be obliged if the sink could be replaced or inspected by one of your representatives prior to this.
So that we can provide further assistance do you have any additional information regarding your previous claim that you can forward on to us please?
REPLY
Thank you for this additional information.
As previously advised, from the information we have available we can see that Carron Phoenix replaced your current sink as a goodwill gesture. It was supplied as a goodwill gesture because the proof of purchase was not available.
We are very sorry but Carron Phoenix are not in a position to replace your current sink without charge for you on a second occasion. This is not only because the original proof of purchase is not available, but also because the issue with your sink is not the result of a manufacturing defect.
Due to the size of the existing worktop cut-out, the only sink we can suggest as being a suitable replacement for you would be the stainless steel Zeta 215 which is currently being sold by B & Q/Nesstar. There is an error on this website however as the warranty is 25 years, not 50 years:
Carron Phoenix Zeta 215 Stainless Steel 2.0 Bowl Reversible Inset Kitchen Sink | DIY at B&Q
To accommodate this sink the existing worktop cut-out would need increasing slightly in length to measure 1184mm.
When Carron Phoenix are unable to replace a sink under warranty Carron Phoenix would normally offer a replacement sink at an advantageous price. This would be based on a 33% discount off the rrp but Nesstar are currently selling this sink well below the rrp so Carron Phoenix are unable to supply it to you even at the price they are selling it for.
We are sorry not to be able to offer you an alternative solution on this occasion but please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further assistance.
UPDATE
As regards your contact response. I’ve already asked your customer services team for the name of a responsible representative of your firm to put on the Small Claims Form. I am taking you to court!
FURTHER UPDATE
I’ve just had a customer services manager call me. She took approx 15 mins to repeat what they have already told me in the emails and annoyingly talked over the top of me!
The MD thereafter emailed me. He reinforced their position. So folks, there you have it. Disappointing to say the least.
You can make your own minds up, either you’d buy from this company or you wouldn’t. Personally I wouldn’t!

Lifetime Guarantee is a joke.
Purchased a Java double granite sink with drainer.
Within a few years the screws and plastic holding up the stainless steel bar over the overflow, rusted and broke.
A few years later the drainer split and my husband dried to glue it. It is now leaking into our kitchen drawers. We now have to use a tray to cover the drainer.
The sink was ordered online via Sinks and Taps and no longer exist.
Franke/Carron delivered the sink to us direct from the factory in Falkirk. We purchased this product as it was a Scottish company and believe we were supporting British Manufacturers.
DO NOT BUY A SINK FROM CARRON or FRANKE.
They will do anything to get out of replacing or paying out what we paid for the kitchen sink and tap.
14 years later they are asking for proof of purchase, the sink is hallmarked and they know it is a Java one of their own. They have insurance for this eventuality, British manufacturing is rubbish, buy German or Italian any time.
Very disappointed looks like a lawyers letter is required.
Typical reply nothing has been agreed, they know the price of the sink in 2009. They know I am the person who ordered it. The faulty manufacture is clearly seen and the model no longer made.
Franke/Carron is owned by a Swiss Billionaire profits go out of Scotland.
Offering 50% of the last selling price that was probably a reduced price to clear.
If an item is guaranteed for a lifetime, how long is a lifetime, the company must record the sales and delivery of every item from it's inception but they still require a receipt or order form proof of purchase. The items came direct from Carron Phoenix/Franke!!!
Very disappointed will never buy from them again. I believed and thought our sink would last our lifetime, I should have contacted them sooner but life got in the way. A mother with dementia, my husband had a catheter ablation, double hernia, prostate cancer, did not want the upheaval. I now have heart issues and do not need stress.
Why should I have to buy another sink and worktop?
My John Lewis kitchen is still perfect went in the same time.
How many other Jura sinks were replaced or refunded as they would all have been the same as mine. I have lots of paperwork in our attic that I cannot access. Old bank statement....from 14 years ago.....
When the company realised the item was liable to the faults I have there should have been a recall!!!!!
Or replacement without screws into the granite in the overflow channel with small plastic coverings to support the stainless steel plate over the drainer. They broke and the screws rusted, the metal pins fell off the metal, looks unsightly.

Have an expensive Carron Phoenix Dante tap still under the 5 year guarantee. My wife noticed that the spout and base has discolouration marks all over. The reply from Carron was that it can’t be a fault as the two parts are manufactured in different places therefore the chances of both being a manufacturer fault are
Impossible and we must have cleaned it with something to cause the damage. We certainly haven’t and because of their response we won’t be buying Carron Phoenix/ Dante products again as their customer service is deplorable
DO NOT BUY CARRON PHOENIX PRODUCTS Bought a sink and tap for our kitchen several years ago. Lovely design. Within a year the sink had stained and the tap was leaking. Customer care really didn't care at all. This despite the fact we had always cleaned the sink with Barkeeper' Friend as recommended by this dreadful company. Avoid at all costs.
We purchased 2 granite sinks in 2018 as they had “a lifetime guarantee”. The sink in our utility area which has more use is fine but the kitchen sink has a few small chips already. We are only an elderly couple (not a big family) who look after our possessions. I contacted Carron Phoenix to be told “this is normal wear & tear”! We wish we had purchased a cheaper stainless steel sink. Don’t but a granite sink from this Company. We are disgusted with the after sales treatment!
Sink 5 years old. Started leaking from base of sink. Minute pitting holes was cause of sink leaking into cupboard underneath. Contacted carron phoenix who stated our lifetime warranty was void as we had used a plastic washing up bowl in sink and caused damage with the plastic bowl and also by using bleach (which was diluted to clean sink). So buyers be warned...if you buy a stainless steel sink you cannot use a washing up bowl, non slip mat or use bleach as it will void your 'lifetime' warranty. My last franke sink was over 30 years old and was perfectly fine with a washing up bowl and bleach. Only changed it due to new kitchen being installed. Won't be buying carron phoenix again.
Needed replacement valve for my kitchen tap. Phoned company and spoke to Wendy. Part replaced under guarantee and sent out that day by first class post. Received it the next morning. Can't get better customer service than that.
