Excellent inside info on dealer pricing…
Excellent inside info on dealer pricing and manufacturer's incentives.
The experience of users at dealers I don't trust. Some claimed to be saving almost the entire margin on top of the line prices and more than twice your recommended dealer

The CarcostCanada service would be more…
The CarcostCanada service would be more useful if it provided several dealerships to choose from.
After I signed in for the service (after hours) I was sent several automated messages, and then contacted by a (different) salesperson the next day. The salesperson was helpful in providing information and what seemed like a decent price, but the dealership I was put in touch with is about 45 minutes away.
My local dealership was able to give me the same price (almost to the dollar, and without price-matching) using an Xplan PIN from a friend who retired from Ford, even though the Carcost-associated dealer said his price was better than Xplan.
CarCostCanada was good for comparison shopping but in the end I went with the local dealer.

My one and only experience was excellent. Follow-Up for additional information was handled promptly and efficiently. Definitely helped me with my negotiations.

Varying experience
Four years ago the specified contact at Wietzes Motors was able to offer 3% above the dealers invoice with no haggling. I was less impressed by the arrangement at Lexus. Having a CarCost reference sheet made no difference, and it did not apparently mattered which salesman I would be dealing with.

Free service Good. Paid Service Poor
Free service provided alot of good context information- base price, factors affecting final price, promotions available.
Paid service- resulting price was highest of various dealer specific options. Did not provide information as to where offers came from. It appeared all 4 offers came from same dealer, as the option information was identical in all 4 offers.

A friend recommended this site
A friend recommended this site, as I was looking for a new car. I am grateful for the information I received on CarCostCanada and I felt more confident in negotiating the car price. I am happy to say that I bought a CR-V and the process went very well with Heritage Honda.

2018 Ford Escape
I was in the market for a new vehicle and was informed by a friend about CarCostCanada. I decided to give it a try and signed up. I started searching different types of SUV's and received 5 different reports along with the dealerships and sales associates to deal with exclusively. At first I was hesitant as the first 2 dealerships I dealt with we did not find any deal at all, the prices were outrageous as they didn't have that exact vehicle I was looking for. Of course they didn't. After about 2 weeks we finally ended up in Orangeville, Ontario at Blackstock Ford, where we dealt directly with the sales associate we were given on our report Justin who gave us the pricing we were offered through CarCostCanada, We did add on a few features to the vehicle which did bring up the price but we knew that going in as the price we were quoted on CarCost Canada was for your basic model. We ended up buying a brand new Ford Escape SEL and saved over $6,423 with the factory incentives. The CarCostCanada savings alone was $1,423.00. I would recommend CarCostCanada to anyone that is looking for a new vehicle and all those hidden incentives that sales people do not want to reveal to just anyone. If you don't ask they will not tell you all the incentives. Maybe 1 or 2 but sometimes dealerships have 3 or 4 with the manufacturer rebates on top of dealership incentives.

Surprised
I wasn’t aware of your cost structure when I signed up so was very surprised when there was a cost associated with the second report. More than that I didn’t know carcost sends your information to a car dealer. I got a call from a dealership soon after I completed the second report

This review is late in coming
This review is late in coming, as I purchased my new vehicle back in November 2018, but I have to say thank you, as I saved so much money using this service. The report I took to the dealer was respected during the negotiation.

Bait and switch, Supposed to be No-Haggle!!!
Taking personal information and marketing no-haggle purchasing is not true if the dealer you recommend does not honour the no haggle commitment or attempts to put you into a different vehicle because that’s the one sitting on his lot!
I have contacted both the dealer and car cost to inform them and yet no one has bothered to call me back.

Valuable car buying information
Son's best friend was looking to immediately purchase a 2019 RAV4 to replace a 2012 Kia LX AWD.
Being retired, was from car industry management for 2 decades, I know well the various tactics of the sales divisions.
Once I knew the purchaser was firm with cash on hand, just had to view his trade.
It took one phone call to the General Sales Manager and this deal was done over the phone!
Knowing invoice allows negotiations to be fair to both parties. For just released models (with no factory incentives or rebates), the dealer must be allowed to make a decent profit. At the same time the buyer should get his best deal possible, in this case, he got good value for his trade and $800 off MSRP.
Two other dealers visited by buyer could not come close. His trade was lowballed by a $1000 and selling price at FULL RETAIL!!!
CarCostCanada provided the tools to allow for realistic savings.
