Perfect Italian language course, very pleasant school
I attended an Italian language course at Campus Athena for 4 weeks at the beginning of 2026 after Iearning Italian with Apps for a year. I have, over the years, attended many language courses in other languages and countries. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Campus Athena. The teacher Ruggero was highly educated and not only taught the language, but also provided valuable insights into Sicilian and Italian history and culture. I felt like the time in class was flying past. We were only speaking Italian, which was challenging for me, but ultimately I benefitted enormously. All staff at the school were very kind and friendly, and keen to support my learning. The school itself is in the historical heart of Catania a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Opera house, with large rooms and a pleasant terrace. The director organises multilingual social evenings in a fun nearby bar, attended by locals and language students alike. January is probably not the most happening time in Catania, but that suited me well. All in all, I had a great time and cannot wait to take another course later this year. Catania was a fantastic city to spend a month in, very colourful, thousand amazing stories and places to discover, everything in walking distance, great food and restaurants and bars and friendly people.
