I've been a member of the club for over 50 years and it appears that having reached a good level of service, it's now in decline. What's more the prices now charged are far to high for what's suppose... See more

Proud of our heritage and protective of the future, we love nothing more than bringing our members closer to nature and each other, to enhance their wellbeing and create a lifetime of memorable moments. Our network of Club Sites stretches from the Cornish coast to the Scottish Highlands. It will always be the heart of our Club and offers consistently lovely camping wherever you go. You don’t need to be a member to stay, but there are great benefits to joining, like exclusive access to over 1,200 smaller, Certificated Sites, tucked away in spots from the quiet to the quite spectacular.

Shocking experience today trying to book
Have booked 7 sites not using this one with no problem
This one totally hopeless
So frustrating and time consuming
Will go elsewhere
I liked many of the site locations, such as Derwentwater, which is amazing. Culzean Castle is also fantastic. Most of the site staff have been friendly and helpful, some exceptionally so (inc Crowborough) and remembered me from only occasional visits. Sadly a few have been patronising (men), with me being a solo female, and one was downright rude -mind you i haven't seen him on that site since and stayed there a lot this year (Normans Bay). Having toured extensively over the past few years i have spent a fortune on sites all over the UK, and mostly used CCC. Yet when i wanted to move a booking from one site to another closer to home in 2025, due to personal circumstances, head office booking staff said no as it was under 10 days (8). I needed to be nearer home, so after an unsuccessful written appeal, cancelled the booking and lost £25. I should have asked the wardens directly, who I'm sure would have been more helpful. The CCC lost over £300 as i booked a nearer site with the other club. It's also potentially lost a member, as I haven't decided whether to renew membership or not, and lost further income as i haven't booked with them since. Okay it's only £25 i lost, but i no longer feel like a valued member and my loyalty to them was certainly not reciprocated.
We've been members for 22 years, starting when our children were small and staying in a tent; now in our motorhome. We've always appreciated the Club's wonderful facilities and the helpful, friendly staff. We've just been to Canterbury Club Site and had a lovely time. Spotlessly clean facilities, lovely hot water showers: just what you need after you've been on the road for a couple of hours. And we especially enjoyed a delicious home made pizza from the 'Fry Lite' van parked on site on Saturday night. Good value too. There's also the Golf Club just opposite on the main road where you can get a hot meal. What's not to like? Who wants to cook or travel into town to eat?
Great dog walks around the site and the best place to stay on the way to Europe as the Motorhome and Carvanning site is now closed. Definitely worth another visit - when it's not raining!!
Still waiting for a return phone call about our house insurance....
Booked a 4 night end of October Hudson’s field site
Really un level pitches
Bad lighting and signs
No movement until 7am gates are closed at 11pm
Felt prison like
Staff , not good or helpful
Would not stop again , go else were very expensive not value for money .
Absolutely NOT worth the money. 7 days touring Scotland by motorbike. Their sites IF they could be found were hugely overshadowed by far more superior non member sites.
These ppl rip you off
Words fail me really not interested in loyal customers. Considering now to end membership.
Overpriced sites, greedy company. A couple of examples. I recently stayed at a private independent site where the owner told me they were no longer affiliated the C&CC. The owner installed electricity on pitches and the C&CC immediately increased the price by £10/night. According to owner the average elec usage was less then £1 per night so the C&CC average profit on electricity alone was 1000 percent ! Another C&CC site advertised the price as 'from £10/night. I completed the online form for a small motorhome plus 2 people for 2 nights and up popped the price £180 !!! C&CC sites are generally ok but many prices are simply rip off greedflation.
Called up for Campervan insurance and was spoken to in the most disgusting tone i've ever experienced by what can only be described as the most obnoxious of advisors. Advisor spoke so fast it was impossible to understand anything they said and upon asking them to slow down became even more aggresive and condescending. Suffice to say i terminated the call half way through as i'd rather pay more than be treat like dirt.
We have been members for 10 years and wanted to cancel our membership, which had just been auto renewed and they refused a refund. Most of the sites now have got really expensive and not value for money. They said that we had used the new membership on a booking that was booked way back in January 2025 on the old membership.
Have been a member for 35 years but I can't remember the last time we stayed on their sites ,they have become too expensive
4 nights 4 adults in a tent over may bank holiday was quoted as 280£
I don't think so ,there's plenty of other sites half that price with just as good facilities
Don't think I'll be renewing our membership next year
Despite wonderful customer service by the C&C office in helping us to re-arrange an existing booking to allow us to visit this site instead, our time there was actually quite disappointing. Not for the first time our experience with C&C club made us feel like their ideal choice of visitors are those over 80 and with a caravan, rather than people with children and a dog, and with a tent or campervan. We were assigned the most terrible pitch on the site, right by the entry and exit barriers and on a considerable slope. The pitch was militarily paced out by the female SM (Site Manager), which included being told to allow an extra metre so that caravans etc could still swing into the site and not send our stuff flying everywhere. We asked if there were any other more suitable pitches free considering we have 9 and 11 year old boys and did not feel all that safe camping beside the main traffic entry and exit areas but were informed nothing else was free. There were empty pitches at the far end of the site which remained empty for several days during our visit. There was a couple in a motor home on the pitch next to us at the time and their vehicle was about 10 metres away, so we thought there would be no issue in erecting our inflatable windbreaker on the second day. Then the rules began. Firstly we were yelled out by the male SM for having our dog tied on a lead which exceeded the six feet rule (signs around the site mention dogs having to be on leads with maximum length of 2 metres and then in brackets 6ft - which is it please?); my wife was informed in the morning that all toilet and shower areas were out of bounds between 10.30am and 12noon for cleaning, leaving just the one easy access toilet available for the entire site during what many might consider to be peak toilet/shower times. On the 3rd day our motorhome neighbours left and were replaced by a family with a tent, who I believe were also told to move the pitch by a metre or so. Their tent was in exactly the same place as the previous motorhome, but they did park their car in between their tent and the boundary of our pitch which was now marked by the windbreaker. On the evening of the 3rd day the male assistant SM came over and said "We've got a problem" and went on about the legal requirement to leave a 6 metre fire gap between pitches meaning we would have to move our windbreaker in "by about a metre or so". I have no issue with this but the breach of the fire gap was caused by the parked car, not by either of the two pitches. There was approx 10-20 metres of unused space for the car on the other side of the tent but apparently the family had been told not to park on that side. Madness. I looked around the site and as usual the favouritism for old people in caravans was evident, including two pitches with awnings having their ropes less than a few feet apart, but apparently not in breach of the 6 metre fire gap. So, in the end I refused to move my windbreaker. On our final evening the male SM came over to discuss the issue once more -- I pointed out the thing about the car and the other awnings around the site but to no avail. My wife also told him how she had chatted to other campers (those in tents) who had not enjoyed their visits due to having to sleep on significantly sloping ground. The male SM disagreed and said everyone loves the site and they always received great reviews, finishing his conversation with "You're wrong love" - this offended me greatly to be honest. I don't think I will be renewing my C&C membership again - well, not until I hit 80 and get my first caravan.....We've been camping for over 20 years and consider ouselves to be quiet, respectful and responsible campers. We can count on the fingers of one hand our unenjoyable stays, and they are predominantly C&C sites sadly
Awful customer service!
They don't care about the customer in any way, shape or form!
Was told that I would get a refund over the phone but they failed to deliver on this.
Save your money and don't bother with the club, it's an absolute waste of money.
We went to the scarborough site, on arrival the gentleman who showed us the pitches, was very unhelpful and dismissive. All the other staff working there were lovely, on our second day, three campervans arrived and unfortunately they couldn't all pitch near each other but around the same area( near us). We were told by one of them they work for camping and caravanning club and were good friends of the manager ( they worked together there previously). They then went to a party on site that evening, was very loud that night. In the morning they had to apologise to a lone lady for something. That day they had a large party including the manager with a bbq, sorry does it not state no large groups or parties on site?. Other campers left as they felt uncomfortable. Other issues were the toilets/ showers were old, still the same as when we used to go 10 years ago. Unsupervised children using the speed ramps on the entrance road as jumps, till after 9pm. No staff in sight. Definitely won't be staying there again. Not worth the money.
Still here booked on line as you do wasn’t easy not for us but them 2 Adults 1 awning 1 Dog both pensioners, showed us the discounts we were getting and paid a deposit and told us what was outstanding that was great until day two into the holiday going in paying what we owed they had us down for one person and a dog well we always travel together so that was without discount then in the morning they had taken even more out of are account never even emailed us about it .
So we went to the site office to be told they don’t charge the final price the offices do so we was charge a extra £80 they told us they don’t give discounts in peak season and it doesn’t tell you online rip off looks like we aren’t coming here again
over past few months sent numerous emails and enquired by phone for details of their home/ house insurance cover. No reply to emails and telephone calls diverted to dead line/ cut off.
gave up and went elsewhere
Had to cancel my booking last minute for family reasons. Thought £60 for a tent for 2 nights was pretty ridiculous to begin with but charging £25 to cancel is just poor to say the least. I was over 20 minutes on the phone to cancel which adds insult to injury!!
Unfortunately we have been priced out of using c&cc main sites hardly at all now..
But we have to stay members so we can attend THS and DA meets as they are value for money.
What do you get for joining? Site fees that are as dear as the competition, a no refund of anything within 10 days, good sites almost impossible to get on unless you are prepared to accept grass only and no electric. Won’t be renewing next year
Kessingland Club Site:
My wife and I have been members of the Club for 17 years. We'd like to provide wonderful feedback for the Kessingland site, and all the wonderful Site Managers. It's such a good site that we've extended our stay here. Right from arriving and being shown to our pitch (we're enters), we received nothing more than professional, friendly help and advice. Big shout-out for Bob, who is just a brilliant Site Manager, as are all the others. We heard, today, that a camper left today "because of the noise". What noise, you may ask. It's a wind turbine in the next field, which, apart from being ecologically sound, is rather soothing. Also, if someone gives a bad rating, which does affect the staff on site, at least pick on something that is actually "their fault", or at least is something they can actually do something about. This is our third visit here, and it's a favourite of ours. We love Kessingland, the site and the whole experience.
