My daughter and I recently completed a bucket list trip to South Africa. It was important to both of us that it create lifetime memories because we were celebrating my retirement and my daughter was celebrating her 30th birthday and recent engagement. We wanted to go to a part of the world that neither had visited before. After receiving rave reviews from colleagues and experiencing their customized approach and professionalism, we quickly settled on South Africa and Camissa Travel.

Camissa Travel did not disappoint; the trip was simply amazing and encompassed culture enriched with extraordinary cuisine, African history, hiking, coastal vistas, the winelands and a glorious safari. We can’t begin to thank the entire Camissa travel team for the experience. Everyone was attentive, informative and genuinely happy to assist with our needs every step of the way. We now consider the Camissa team part of our extended family and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

I travelled with 3 friends around Cape Town for 4 days this May. While planning the trip, it became clear that Camissa listened carefully to what each of us was interested in, and did a superb job of shaping an itinerary that was both informative and evocative. Our daily guide's deep knowledge (and constant good humor) elevated our experience beyond all our expectations; we gained a real appreciation for the complicated history and culture of the area. Also Camissa provided quick and responsible solutions to challenges caused by bad weather, airline cancellations, etc. We felt supported every step of the way.

The most important thing I can say about my experience with Camissa Travel is that I felt very comfortable and protected by Sisa and Khonaye during my stay in Cape Town. As a woman traveling alone, I was a bit nervous as to how the Cape Town visit would turn out, but I felt very much at ease with both Sisa and Khonaye to the point where I almost felt they were family after three days!

Khonaye Tuswa, owner of Camissa Travel, is also highly knowledgeable about South African history, topography and culture.

He and Sisa were extremely punctual for all pickups and drop-offs and flexible with timing to accommodate my preferences.

LOVED Parker Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel at home. Also in a prime location. Pretty garden!

Restaurant choices were great. My favorite was Kloof Street House, where I had ostrich for the first time. It's a gorgeous, eclectic setting with excellent food. Very sweet waiter.

LOVED Bataleur Safari. The staff was very professional, kind and knowledgeable about the animals and the bush. I felt my drives--and one walk-- were quite adventurous. The food was excellent.

I was very pleased with my Prins & Prins Diamonds shopping experience, where the consultant, Leonard Arendt, was also very welcoming and a true diamond expert. Enjoyed hanging out in the workshop as a very pleasant and skilled young man fitted my ring.

Lastly, I am grateful to Camissa Travel for arranging the visit to Baphumelele Children's Home. I loved reading with the boys and plan to keep in touch with the house.

Once again, thank you for collaborating with Overton Travel in the U.S.A. to plan the perfect vacation for me! I can’t wait to someday return to South Africa for a longer stay and will consult Camissa Travel at that time.

Where do I begin? Lol. Camissa Travel is AAA+++. Professional, attentive (even to what you may think are the most minuscule matters.) If it matters to you…It REALLY matters to Camissa! From airport to airport AND EVERY PLACE/STOP IN BETWEEN… hotels, tours, sites, attractions, restaurants, events, adventures…Camissa was there! Travel vouchers, tickets, seating, transportation, where to go, what to do, how to, you name it, Camissa took care of it. Johannesburg, Zimbabwe (Victoria, Falls and other special sites and tours), Cape Town, Botswana, Zambia and other countries we visited! Camissa was there and had been there before us making sure our way was smooth and straight. Honestly, this is from my personal experience, you cannot, and will not go wrong if you choose Camissa travel! Thanks EVERYONE at Camissa!

Every detail of our South Africa/Victora Falls trip was wonderfully curated. Camissa Travel, and Phil set up many calls to understand our needs, make meaningful recommendations to accommodate the age diversity of our travelers, they also hand selected and booked guides in every city that we visited. The restaurant selections were amazing and 5 star. Camissa Travel organized a wonderful trip for our family and we will definitely use them again.

We are still reminiscing about the amazing Capetown trip designed by Phillip Rendel. We were celebrating our 36th anniversary and Phillip CURATED a mind blowing vacation. From the initial contact, he was always asking our thoughts and feedback regarding what we’d like to experience.His expertise knowledge about lodging, restaurants, and entertainment provided a once in a lifetime vacation! He arranged reliable in-country transportation (great drivers), made our restaurant reservations, and tickets for our events! We just had to pack and fly to South Africa! Every day was special from all Capetown had to offer, to gorgeous Hot bay, then a flight to a private beach/safari lodging, and ending with our first braii (bbq) at the gorgeous Shamwari Resort (Big 5 safari)! He even planned rest times :) The best vacation ever and we hope to plan another one with Phillip!

I have never used a travel planner or guide for my many excursions across the globe but felt it was important to hire a local, diverse company to ensure exceptional service since I was traveling with 30 guests.
