Rented a car,returned it to the place…

Rented a car,returned it to the place we got it,
but the DAY AFTER we rented it,it has to be relocated because they work on parking lot i think? they
dont have employees to relocate it,so they say i have to pay the fine, they send me e-mail with pdf that i can't open. if you find an alternative to rent a car,i would do that

Hi,

We're a carsharing company, not a renting company. You always have to leave the car on the station were you picked it up. But, if there is a parking ban within 48h, you have to find a alternative, regulatory parking spot. It is in our general terms and conditions, and you received this information in our instruction video when you registered.

it is a very nice application when you…

it is a very nice application when you just rarely use it at working time or without a deep connection. but it provides very limited help or guide durning night or weekend. However, I do think very big part of us will use it for holiday. in the meaningtime, I have to say some staff in its calling center are really unfriendly and just want to me do or solve it by myself as a client.

Cambio is a carsharing company where our users have shared responsibilities. But we do have a callcenter that is 24/7 available for all questions you have on the road. Our client service (=administration) is only reachable during office hours.

The Cambio service told that we have to pay the cleaning charge for the previous renter having left the car dirty.

I thought Cambio was very useful untill the invoice of May arrived. There was a cleaning charge for the previous renter having left the car dirty.
On 14 May, we noticed the smell but we couldn't find the dirty spot. So we started driving. But it was so bad smell then when we arrived, we checked the car carefully. We found the spot on the side of seat where we couldn't see if the door is closed. So we called Cambio.

After I received the invoice, I claimed about the cleaning charge. But Cambio said the following.
.....
You did not report it before starting the car. Following our general fair play conditions you need to do this before starting and not during your reservation.

Unfortunately the fine remains.

I really disappointed. Did Cambio Service really check phone records? If it is like this, do I have to report for just bad smell?
I know a lot of people mess up Cambio cars. But does Cambio have to find someone who pay for it?. Now I'm starting to think the system of Cambio isn't working properly.

The next customer reported to the call center ‘vomit in the vehicle on the driver's door very strong smell’ at the start of the reservation.

Two other customers reported the same thing.

We had to send an external cleaning team to clean the vehicle. That's why the fine is 50€.

Our apologies for the behavior of this user. Without a time or license plate, we unfortunately cannot determine which driver it is.

We have a large group of users. And that is a kind of reflection of the drivers in traffic. They simply stand out more because they drive with a cambio.

Great customer service

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Steven from Cambio (around noon on 14th of August), and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of service I received. Steven really helped me with an activation of my account. Moreover, he was very friendly!

Dishonest

Dishonest. Following a problem with the key, we had to send them back to them. Despite several contacts with the service desk, they tried to invoice us the days during which the key was sent to them, despite the fact that the car was being used by other customers. They also pretend they could never reach me which is a blatant lie. Given such dishonesty, I do not recommend.

Edit : the answer of Cambio illustrates a strange vision of customer relationship. Any abusive invoice will be contested.

Way too expensive

Way too expensive, even if you don't use the car you must pay a ridiculous amount of money. That wasn't the case until some time ago when the night tax was inexistent. Sometimes it's a pain in the butt to even find a parking spot to park your car back since most of them are abused by regular car owners who park on your designated car space. Then the people who screw up your schedule because your booking starts later than expected becase of some guy who returns the car 1h later than expected. Then the people who don't fill up the tank before ending their trip. The dirty interior of some cars where dogs may have been inside or people smoking. This idea is good for people who don't use a car for more than 100km/month which in a place like this is almost impossible.

Hi Stefan,

Compared to your own car, using a cambio carsharing car is much cheaper. You just pay a monthly fee (€4, €8 or €22 - depends on your chosen tariff), and only when you use the car (cost per time & km's - depends on your tariff). The night tariff per hour is cheaper then the use during the day.

In most cities, we have reserved parking spots. If possible, we install parking brackets. If not, we depend on the enforcement of the city.

We contact our users who don't respect our rules, and address them about this. If necessary, they receive a fine.

Our system is financially interesting for users who drive less then 11.000 km per year.

No respect for customers

No respect for customers. Why does anyone need to use a car sharing service? To save time, money, convenience... What does Cambio do? Has the worst most atrocious possible invoicing system straight from the 90's - takes an hour to figure out how and what to pay. Insane amount of not giving a crap for the customer. Finding cars? Good luck, the app actively hates you and your location. The experience of using Cambio is 80% using the app, dealing with reservations. Their cars are decent, but does it matter? You will hate everything by the time you get to the car.

Do yourself a favour and use any other service. For the cambio employees I am sorry you know I'm right, is not your fault - much love, appreciated your work during my contract. To the leadership, hope your web browser is slow for eternity.

Our invoice is very clear: first you have a overview of all costs, then you get a overview per reservation/per user.

Normally, you can book a car in our cambioApp in a few seconds. You can book way ahead, our last minute if there is a car available.

Compared to an own car, using cambio carsharing is much cheaper if you drive less then 11.000 km's a year.

Suggestion for improvement of service

Maybe it would be useful to get some people in the office in the weekend as well, because “24/7 carsharing” isn’t really true if it takes a few days to activate an account and no work is done in the weekend. Your site made it look like it was a great option to quickly arrange a car for in a few days, the one time I don’t have one available and definitely need one.

Long-time car-sharing company in Belgium

Have been client of Cambio in Brussels since 2010. Well-run service, quick call-center response, really happy to have them available not just in Brussels, but throughout Belgium -- I've on numerous occasions taken a train to another city and rented a Cambio from there. It's true that some cars are older, but there are plenty new ones added all the time, including several electric ones now (been waiting for those!). I also use Poppy at times, but Cambio is *much* cheaper and definitely my go-to service.

Cambio - The worst treatment to a customer

Cambio - the place where you can be treated as a liar and have the worst customer experience.
Here is the story: I took the car on a Thursday morning at 6:30 (keep in mind that it was not daylight) and had the car parked at my work location(its a private closed park and there is no chance of vandalism). At the end of the day, I parked the car back at cambio station. The next day I get contacted via email that I have damaged the car according to the next clients report. The damage is SO little like two black dots and in the black area of the car, difficult to see. Of course I didnt accept that because it wasnt true. They reply to me that after they have done some “analysis”, they came to the conclusion that it is my fault and that they will charge me. Their analysis are completely BIAS and I told them that I will immediately terminate the contract if they proceed to charge me for something that it wasnt done by me. KEEP IN MIND that the damage is something that could be vandalism or done by the previous client but at 6:30 in the morning can never be noticed. Even after my request, they said that they will do a campaign gesture by invoicing me only 50 euros for not reporting the damage. I immediately requested the termination of the contract. They should have taken into consideration of investing in cameras next to the cambio stations or do a better analysis without being BIAS to the situation before they go further and charge the customer and treat the customer as a liar.
Nowadays based on real studies, 83% of people trust online reviews and 42% of people say they would avoid a business after reading negative reviews. Cambio should take this non BIAS real analysis into consideration and apply it into their business strategy.

Sorry to hear... It is important to definitely do a damage check (as mantioned in our terms and conditions), because from the start of your ride you are responsible for all visible damage that is not yet known to cambio. In a car-sharing system, we rely on each other, and you do the user's control for you. Unlike car rental, our fleet employees cannot check the vehicle after every trip.

NEVER EVER AGAIN
A lot of money and such a hassle for no cars available. They make everything difficult and expensive and on top of that they impose Dutch language on you. I intend to be reimbursed for the 500 euros they request as a down payment.I already paid a lot for no cars ever. Shame on them. If I send an email in English or French why do they reply in Dutch? I'm struggling to be reimbursed.

Sorry to hear that. With cambio Flanders, we communicate naturally in Dutch, 'cause we're the Flemish part of the company. But, if someone contacts us in English (or Frensh), we attune to our user. Sorry if not so in your case.

Normally, we cover 85% of all requests in Flanders, and if no car available, we always offer an alternative. So, I can't imagine that there were never no cars available. But sorry if there weren't.

By joining cambio you pay a mandatory financial contribution (€150 or €500): your share to make our car sharing system possible. This way, we are able to create more sustainable mobility together. You receive a full refund of this financial contribution would you choose to cancel your contract: check https://www.cambio.be/en-vla/faq/administration/what-if-i-want-stop-my-contract. This contribution is also a kind of warranty: the financial contribution is your usage limit, a monthly maximum amount you cannot/may not exceed.

Misleading information about cancelling contracts

Cambio claim it is very simple to cancel a contract but this simply isn't true. The app does not allow for it and neither does the mycambio area as they advertise. Of course it's very easy to change to a more expense tariff but need to pause or cancel your contract and you'll spend hours on hold on the telephone.

Don't use this company

Don't use this company! They use an age old model of getting as much money as possible out of people, by making complicated, difficult and long to cancel accounts, in addition to having to wait 3-4 months for the return of your deposit you paid in good faith.!

I initially chose this company so I could occasionally use a car when needed. Shortly after, I moved to a new role and decided to take a company car instead. One of the main reasons I chose Cambio, was their statement you can cancel at anytime. Sound easy right?

It turns out this is not so simple, You can't just go on their site or app and cancel, it's on their site if you really look closely but it's not clearly stated.

You need to contact their office to just start the "process". It takes months, they will keep charging you over those months, even when you can't use their service and takes even longer for them to return your deposit, which they don't return in full due to removing another monthly charge. I never once used their cars, so it wasn't for anything else!

If you use them, then I'm sure it'll be fine and you will have an OK car. But, when trying to stop they make it as difficult as they can and hide extra charges in the fine print. Dishonest in the way they portray their service in my personal opinion.

! In response to their reply here and their link. They fail to mention and it's not in that link that, it will take months for them to cancel your contact from my experience, it takes even more months to return your deposit and while they are taking their time to end the contract, you will continue to be changed! For something you cannot use! - I reiterated, do not use this company!
